ibrary of Ruina is an indie deck-building turn-based role-playing game developed and published by South Korean studio Project Moon. Initially released for Windows and Xbox One on August 10, 2021, it is a direct sequel to the 2018 PC game Lobotomy Corporation.
The game generally received positive reviews for PC, but mixed to negative reviews on console. A sequel, Limbus Company, was released in 2023 for Windows, iOS, and Android devices. The light novel The Distortion Detective is a side story takes place during the events of Library of Ruina. Another light novel, Leviathan, was illustrated as a comic, taking place between Library of Ruina's true ending and the start of Limbus Company.
Persona 4, released outside Japan as Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, is a 2008 role-playing video game by Atlus. It is chronologically the fifth installment in the Persona series, itself a part of the larger Megami Tensei franchise, and was released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan in July 2008, North America in December 2008, and in Europe and Australia in March 2009, being one of the final major exclusives for the system. It was re-released as a PlayStation 2 Classic for the PlayStation 3 in April 2014. Persona 4 takes place in a fictional Japanese countryside and is indirectly related to earlier Persona games. The player-named protagonist is a high-school student who moves into the countryside town of Inaba from the city (most likely presumed to be Tokyo) for a year. During his year-long stay, he becomes involved in investigating mysterious murders with a group of friends while harnessing the power to summon physical manifestations of their psyches known as a Persona.

While this is exaggerated, I would genuinely see Adachi accidentally letting out a chuckle after hearing that his wife is dead because he's recognising the irony of the situation: they're both bitter, but one is due to loss, and the other is due to not having anything in the first place.
