Nihilo Concepts Deck/Timing Tool
Rocky Mountain ATV/MC's Part# 1654780004

Nihilo has developed a Stainless Steel Deck Tool that is a fraction of the cost of the OEM special tool. The OEM tool retails for over $94.00 while the Nihilo Concepts tool is only $14.95. The stainless steel is durable and strong and will last for many years. Nihilo uses a water jet to precision cut each tool. The water jet assures that they are exact copies of the OEM specification and will work on your bike perfectly every time. You must have this tool to properly set the deck height, timing and power valve on your bike if your head is not set up per factory specification you run the risk of stator failure and will have an improperly tuned motor.

Hello
How to configure 2019 KTM 85sx Powervalve with Nihilo Powervalve Adjustment Tool?
Just about to change the piston on my lads 85.
Good video, I just think this is over complicating things, I’ve never had to check deck height or adjust ignition on any of the about 100 basic piston changes I’ve done over the years on all brands of bikes and two stroke engines haven’t suddenly become more complicated.
If you’re doing more that just a straight like for like piston swap yes check it, but don’t fret over it otherwise.
I would add that newer KTMs, Huskys, and now GasGas 85 cc bikes do not need timing adjustment, as the CDI automatically advances or retards timing electronically. In fact, the Nihilo tool for these newer bikes is shaped for the decking tool only, and does not have a profile for timing adjustment.
Привет, если я установлю на ктм 85 прокладку под цилиндр 0.5, будет ли ктм под 95 бензин ?
excellent video. simple. to the point. thanks
Thanks this was just what i was looking for to understand decking.
When placing cylinder base gaskets Do you place them with the silicone side up or down per one gasket or two
Put the silicone side down whether you are using one or on two.

How many millimeters the timing tools height is?
Hello. where can i get that decking tool? That sure is a clean bike, I need to do i full rebuild, lower and top, I pull the top and the rod is locked up and can't move on the crank, bought the bike used and locked up, I'm going to fix it, looks easy if ya have the right tools. one ting that is hard is torquing the cylinder nuts , you can only get on 3 of them.
There are 2 links in the description of this video, the first will take you to all the parts and tools used in the engine rebuild and the second will take you to the Nihilo Concepts Deck/Timing Tool.
If this is the first top end on bike can I just use the same size gasket even if it's a vertex piston kit? Thanks
Thanks for sharing very helpful
Hello, I from Russia, nowhere not can find the key for invoicing ignition, podskajite please, how many millimeters there is on your have ??????
Hello, I need your help..... i have the same engine. My new piston come's minimal to high in the Zylinder. Do I need to change that.
if you use the stock gasket thickness every time you do a rebuild shouldn't it always be the same? How could it change?
m1ke2001 there could be slight differences due to heat warpage or maybe very slight differences with piston size or any imperfections with any of the parts. Nothing is quite perfect so you gotta make it perfect.
What thickness gasket dis u use
Awesome. Thanks guys.
Glad you found it useful and thanks for watching!
@@rmatvmc Always fast shipping on all the parts I order too! 👍🏻
We try our best and are glad to see our hard work pays off. Thanks for being a great customer.
Do you still have to check this on a piston that isn’t domed?
how many degrees btdc is the timing is it the same for all two stroke thank's
it is different for every bike. look up degree wheels.
My 06 ktm 85 does not have a gasket on the front of the cylinder where the exhaust valve bolts up . Just the red joint sealer is this normal I cant seem to find a gasket for it.
Yes that is normal. In the KTM repair manual it doesn't show a gasket there, it just says to apply a thin layer of silicone to the sealing areas when you mount the exhaust flange.
Hope that helps!
Exhaust valve adjustment ktm 85 sx 2018-2019 ?
Is this only specific to the KTM or does this apply to all Japanese two strokes.
What's the wrench your using to put the cover back on?
It's a swivel head ratchet.
Rocky Mountain ATV MC thanks, I was wondering if it was possibly a preset torque wrench. It just looks fancy :)
Haha nope. Just a good old fashion ratchet with socket :). Thanks for watching.
I need the tool used to set the decking and timing in this video
Also where could I find the tool used to set the power valve in the exhaust port....you guys should do a video on setting the power valve also if u haven’t already
Thanks for this vid.
Fukien legend thanks
hi i just buy a ktm 85...i was told it was put in a shed and when took out it wouldt run the kick has a small bit of commpression but can push down by hand and when trying to jump it it just locks up...i tink it mite need a piston kit but i just wanted to know if the timing could be the problem
macker b I would rebuild or just get a yamaha
@@jonthelamb4549 why would you 'just get a yamaha'?
@@user-nsixfour ktms are to dear to find parts for maybes?
Wait, so when the pistion is below the tool, the decking is too high and its the opposite when it hits the tool. Wtf, why do they have to make it confusing.
Similarlobster 8 he means if the piston hits the bar the that means that you have to take the cylinder off and put a ticket gasget on so that the cylinder raises and doesn't hit the piston
because if it were easy, mechanics wouldnt have jobs.
