The location for this video was the Belitz sanatorium near Berlin (built 1905-1907). This was a neurological clinic for tuberculosis patients in Eastern Germany, which was later used by the Russians as a military base. Today the large site and its buildings are empty and are often used as a filming location for TV and music productions! There were many sanitary facilities in the buildings, including clinical bathrooms that were used by patients. This explains the depression in the ground that can be seen in the video. @Wolfman: regarding Flake the keyboard guy - there are so many storys about him. One thing is that he consider his job in the band so easy that he get´s bored, that is why they have incorporated him in the live shows doing all kind of crazy things, like playing on a treadmill, upside down, dancing etc. Another is that since he was hesistant to enter the band due to the fact that it was below his competence he still is not an official band member and that is displayed in lot of their music videos where he is showing up late, being blown up an so on.
Did you notice it? At the very end as the lights are fading the white smoke? I believe the white smoke/mist you see in the very end as the lights slowly go off was his spirit/Soul. I think that he was finally able to ascend...after making sure all the children were safe and at the same time atoning for his past sins he was finally set free. The original was released in 2001 then the piano version in 2012 so it follows the story from Till in the orphanage to protecting the kids and the emotions he shows is mainly anger followed by sadness then in the piano version his emotions are kinda bitter sweet? He realizes he had to do things he didn't want to do to save the children.so now that he's done, he is finally set free.

About the rolling "R" : Till is using "Theatre language": Back in the day, there were no mics so the actors had to speak very loud with good pronouncation so the audience could understand them. And if you want to pronounce a letter R, you have to roll it. BTW, his parents were both theatre actors 😉

Regarding the style how Till sings, this was performed by Ernst Busch, back in the 1920's. Till took 2 years of singing lessons with an opera singer and you can definitely tell by whom he was vocal related educated. We usually don't roll the "r's" to that extent, when we talk (one or the other dialect might be the exception to the rule). Why German sounds so harsh to others is, that German is word language, English, French, Spanish, etc. are syllabic languages. (Sorry, couldn't help geeking out here). The composer you stated as the player here is a professional pianist. They have done this a few times live, bringing a baby grand out and having Flake (Christian Lorenz) play while Till sang with his eyes tightly shut. He gets terrible stage fright, but did a great job. I loved when Till really started singing and Jeff lit up! Sue you looked horrified...sorry, but I laughed. Rammstein is a very theatrical group of musicians with a mix of Hard Rock, Kraftwerk and Berthold Brecht/Kurt Weill who show their German roots without shame. Their music is, altough sometimes surprisingly melodious and inventive, by far not as sophisticated as e.g. Nightwish, their live showshowever are certainly one of the best in the world at the moment. And what they have in common with Nightwish is the dedicated and ever growing fanbase.
The heart of the song is about abuse, the cycle of abuse, and the nightmares that come with it. It should be disturbing, you should want to not look, and you should never turn away. That is the point.

at least in my generation it was customary in Germany to learn the children quickly to be independent. so my parents often left me on Saturday to do something without something like a babysitter from the age of 11. of course I got the requirement to be in bed at 9 p.m. which of course I never did. 😁😁 Of course, I watched every movie on Saturday evening that I should never have seen with parents and certainly often lay up to my nose out of fear under a blanket on the couch. but strangely enough, I never had nightmares. only when i then heard the car so at 24 -1 o'clock that drove into the garage, I quickly went to my room and pretended if I would sleep deeply. 😄 also I quickly understood that in the movies it is all actors, which I also saw again in other films, the charm of scary movies was relatively quickly over. today. I usually have to laugh at scary movies.

I saw them safely into this world and secured loving homes...home, that's not mine! What a ride it's been! @@SueSueandthewolfman Well those prayers worked!! Jukka and my precious, albino faced Marko, are going to join their bothers in the land of giant cat trees! I've made sure the girls have everything...4 cozy beds, blankets, toys, scratchers, carriers and supplemental food. I will continue to buy them at least 2 bags of high end kitten kibble a mo for a year, and buy them 2 more litterboxes. Best early birthday gift (next month) to me, EVER!! I am sooooo happy! They will be loved like... as if by me. I wish I could continue fostering, but my mom wants to move back home (from my sister's), and her bedroom was my nursery! I was incredibly blessed to have had this experience! A friend is gonna take all the pix and videos of the babies from my phone and back them up to one of my laptops and a memory stick.

Rammstein is a very theatrical group of musicians with a mix of Hard Rock, Kraftwerk and Berthold Brecht/Kurt Weill who show their German roots without shame. Their music is, altough sometimes surprisingly melodious and inventive, by far not as sophisticated as e.g. Nightwish, their live showshowever are certainly one of the best in the world at the moment. And what they have in common with Nightwish is the dedicated and ever growing fanbase.

at least in my generation it was customary in Germany to learn the children quickly to be independent. so my parents often left me on Saturday to do something without something like a babysitter from the age of 11. of course I got the requirement to be in bed at 9 p.m. which of course I never did. 😁😁 Of course, I watched every movie on Saturday evening that I should never have seen with parents and certainly often lay up to my nose out of fear under a blanket on the couch. but strangely enough, I never had nightmares. only when i then heard the car so at 24 -1 o'clock that drove into the garage, I quickly went to my room and pretended if I would sleep deeply. 😄 also I quickly understood that in the movies it is all actors, which I also saw again in other films, the charm of scary movies was relatively quickly over. today. I usually have to laugh at scary movies.

Dieser Song bescheibt keinen Alptraum.... Auch wenn es den Anschein hat, es ist noch viel schlimmer... Dieser Song beschreibt einen in mehrfacher Hinsicht realen wahr gewordenen Alptraum.
Rammstein ist bekannt dafür bei tiefliegenden und kontroversen stücken text, Bild und Ort in einem gewissen Einklang zu bringen.
Das besondere an diesem Song ist der Ort an dem es gedreht wurde.
Der Drehort ist eine Heilanstalt im Osten Deutschlands. Diese "Heilanstalt" war Anfangs ein Ort für Lungenkranke, wurde aber nach und nach für Nervenkranke (Psychisch Kranke) verwendet . An diesen Armen wehrlosen Personen wurden unter schrecklichsten Bedingungen zu Forschungszwecken fragwürdige Heilmethoden angewendet. Vornehmlich an den jüngsten von ihnen.
Nach einem Großbrand wurde diese Heilanstalt aufgegeben und war lange Zeit ungenutzt und war ein sogenannter "Lost Place" . Es gab irgendwann auch einmal Pläne das Gebäude als Hotel wieder zu verwenden, was aber nie umgesetzt wurde, stattdessen wurde es unter Denkmalschutz gestellt und dient heute keinerlei größerem Zwecke.
An diesem Ort klebt das Blut vieler unschuldiger die einem Realem Alptraum erlagen getötet von Monstern im Engelsgewandt.
