Can't believe this comes from USA today but a good start.
US tried to use the Uyghurs to separate Xinjiang from China. Unfortunately, China is very smart and unleash massive infrastructure upgrades in Xinjiang which lead the Uyghurs to rich and prosperity. Now, the Uyghurs have no problem embracing them as loyal Chinese.
Uyghurs tribes were very much love by Han Chinese, and the locals felt it and enjoy the privilige.
That was not pick up by CIA. 😆
Just returned from my odyssey in Xinjiang, very clean, vast, and varied landscape. Saw hordes upon hordes of tourists and different ethnic groups seem to mingle well. Many harvesters, including John Deere, and these machines could be the forced workers.
We were told that Uyghur language is prohibited in Xinjiang. There is sanction on products from from the region. Was it all a geopolitics?

in fact the opposite is true, if u r a han Chinese or even a American and go to a local school, u need to learn Uyghur, besides mandarin Chinese and English, because everything in xinjiang is written in both Chinese and Uyghur.
