I think a good way to do the positioning phase is to let players take their place 1 by 1 then when they got the position ready they look down and go below the map without moving, then when everyone is ready they all rise up to floor level while still looking at the floor to avoid seeing others rise.
Also this minigame seems pretty fun, hopefully you do it again and I can join ^^
they could also do that with omen's ult, astra's stars or with sova
or in another method that i thought is both team have least 1 brim, and then brim look at the ground let the teammate and enemy team to go hind some where by dont care about seeing each other, when ready brim must fly through ground or fly in sky and look up or down to avoid seeing enemy on map. this can avoid to seeing each other and brim can ult every where on map.
During buy phase, the enemies cannot see each other at all. Egg started the round and told everyone to hide, but should do it during buy phase.
Instead of having an All BRIM format Have 1 Brim in Each team in Ghost mode ( positioned under the map so he can roam around without spotting locations) and 4 Jett's in each team who hide around the ENTIRE MAP who cannot communicate with their Brim ( except tell him their own location via PING) , Then Brim's Take Turns to Find and Eliminate the Enemy Jett's First.
You can even give the Brim's Powerups like
1) Allow a pre determined Jett to dash away if Ulted (x1)
2) Ult in a Line across the MAP (if they miss 7 shots with no kills)
3) A Sonar jett where His ALIVE Jett can Updraft and look in a 360 view around Him to PING an Enemy Location if he SEE's any
( If they miss 7 shots with no kills)
Each Brim has Ability 1 (x1) and Every 7 misses can Pick between Ability 2 & 3

Better idea on this -> Lets split them such that 1 team has only 1 Brim (Attacker) and other team with 5 players (Defenders). Attacker Brim will sit at any 1 corner of map and Defenders team will spread across a site. Now Attacker brim will try to kill everyone with ult by guesing there positions. Ex : In split Attacker Brim will be in vents watching down, other team will be places randomly on A-site and A-heven. Now will see how many kills brim can get by using his Ult only 10 times. Now all will take parts becoming the attacker BRIM.

better idea, Play in breeze map in mid, instead of ults use smokes, and u can split the mid with astra ult so they can't hear the brim smoking and its will be like that war game.
BakeBread is a genius, by ulting he's position and damaging himself he made the enemies think set area mas clear

Now you should do hide and seek with sova's recon,kayo zero\point,omen ult but need to cancel or fade's haunt with limited space, tag with neon (1 use only per round with her high gear and overdrive, you dont need use it right away so you dont get caught), the floor is lava with jett's abilities and cypher's trap wire or play without using wasd (omen's shrouded step,jett's tailwind,yoru's gateccrash,chamber's rendezvous, raze's blast pack or astra's gravity well).

After watching this I think I get why BakedBread ulted himself. No one would suspect he would attack his own battleship so as long as he has a minimum of 1 hp they most likely wont ult the spot he just ulted! THATS ACTUALLY SO BIG BRAIN WP!

You should totally do more of this unique cool stuff.
So for example hide and seek - one guy (most likely a trusted mod) is the seeker and is only allowed to use a sheriff, while everyone else are one agent and are only allowed to use some of their infinite abilities. You tell them which agent and abilities to use, and whoever survives the match timer wins.
Another totally different idea - you and your gf play together on a smurf account, one of you controls the keyboard while the other the mouse.
C'mon, please do more of this stuff.

If Brim is looking down while ulting but not pressing the button yet, would the bullet from another player that hits Brim's head actually hit or would the hitbox move since he's actually looking down?
I'm saying: visually he's looking straight up so if someone shot THAT point where his head looked like it was, does that hit or is it ducked under by the Brim?

Riot could literally implement stuff like this, maybe have these gamemodes change on a weekly or monthly basis, like Hearthstone's tavern brawl. Simple concepts like this should only take a few hours to make.

How bout do 4 in each team hide and 2 dudes fly and the air ghost and look up and they can move around the map and the 2 dudes will pick where to use ult and 4 hides?
A good idea is to have hidden 4 of each team in each bomb and the last player in the middle to ult in the bomb, so each team had to communicate to win, like in the normal battleship game.

You could use Astra's ult to make sure both teams can't see each other while they set up
a better way to do this is have 1 brimstone each team and have them OS a random spot until enemy brim or all team mates die
you cannot see the enemy duirng buy phase so they could position and look down then you start the round to start the game

Instead of brim ults, use astra stars, i think she can the whole map, and to compensate for the radius of stars being smaller, allow people to put down 3 stars.

why not get 4 omens in each team and like 1 brim then the brim goes around the map but the whole map is smoked so the brim cant see shit and then have them comms to each other where they think the other omens are and the first to kill all omens wins omens will tp to their spots and if the spots coinside then they ult away
