    Athletes thinking they've found loopholes in the rules and immediately being told "yeah no you can't do that" by the refs is a hysterical phenomenon...

    One time I played in a little league game where the opposing team had a semi-pro baseball player pretend to be 12 and hit bombs off our pitcher. His birth certificate said “I am 12” and conveniently had cash in it to bride the ump. We still won though when he drilled this albino kid for a walk-off HBP.

    Bobby V was at at banquet I attended and he told us more background on that game. Basically, he got new pitching coach(es) that didn't really know the team. So he couldn't trust that the new acting manager would know when to pull a pitcher or who to substitute in.

    • @FoxxyBrown1111
      @FoxxyBrown1111 5 месяцев назад

      Really? It isnt that hard to see if a pitcher is getting tired. Then you have your stat sheets to put the best available relief option in. Its no rocket science. BV made himself bigger than he is. Everybody with 101 baseball knowledge could manage a team. Everyone.

    For the play at 11:55 where the Chiefs picked up an apparent muffed punt, two things:
    -The punting team can't advance a muffed punt; they get the ball wgere they pick it up. (Fumbles are fair game.)
    -That play was overturned on replay; refs deemed Edelman to have not touched the ball and the Pats retained possession.

    • @gamemassa7769
      @gamemassa7769 5 месяцев назад +1

      I was also going to add that, in the play between Arizona and USC right after the Chiefs-Pats clip, as the three USC players are dragging the Arizona player toward the ball, one of the USC players hits the ball with the back of his heel, so none of USC's BS would've mattered there (though they should still be penalized for clearly unsportsmanlike conduct). Also, that USC player kicking the ball with his heel actually ended up giving Arizona better field position too.

    For the hockey play, it is now an automatic goal in most leagues, including the NHL and the AHL where this clip is from, if the goalie just turns around and knocks the net on a clear scoring chance. There are now no advantages in trying this technique

  • @Crash88
    @Crash88 5 месяцев назад

    They used to call a penalty in the NFL when teams are trying a field goal or extra point and the farthest back defender would run up to the line and actually climb up the back of his defensive line trying to block the kick. The "on deck circle" is placed away from the plate mainly to keep the next hitter as safe as possible from a foul ball along with keeping them out of the view of pitchers. Players used to stand on the grass with half of their on the white line around the circle until the MLB said they had to stand in the circle.

      Hockey is a stupid sport anyway. If coaches would tell the players to plug shot lanes (all the time) instead of letting players check opponents into walls, thus freeing space, almost no one would score. And absolutely no one would score if you put three players on the GL (plus the goalie ofc). As I said, hockey coaches are extremely stupid, the whole sport is.

    David Leggio & removing the goal has a SPECIFIC RULE about it: it is the David Leggio rule, and it was implemented IMMEDIATELLY after David Leggio did that. He basically did that, because he (rightffully) thought that making a save on a penalty shot was easier than making a save 2 on 1. (Because 1 on 1 is easier than 2 on 1.) And that is why he removed the goal: he preferred the 1 on 1 of the penalty shot, which he knew was the penalty for doing that. And to STOP goalies from EVER doing that again (it would have become a constant meme after that), they made the "David Leggio rule", which states that if the goalie on purpose removes the net in that kind of specific situation, the penalty is now MORE than just a penalty shot: if the penalty shot doesn't score, you get an extra powerplay, too.
    That was made specifically because of David Leggio, and it was immedially put up in every league after that.
    The leagues clearly did not want this kind of BS happening in their league.
