Haha yep of course, though I didnt want this video to be just using teams where the damage is dealt primarily through non crit based damage (transformative reactions). I wanted to specifically do no crit on a character that normally really wants to crit to fully utilize them, and I think Arlecchino was probably one of the best units at showing that! I was a bit worried people would think thats all I was going to do by the title, though (it can be weirdly hard to make a simple title representing the concept of the video that couldnt be misunderstood as being something else, hence why I used the thumbnail with Arles equipped artifacts to provide the additional info needed to establish the premise here)

This was so much better than I thought it would be at the start lol. TL;DR is don't undervalue non-crit circlets, and non crit weapons. Oh, I was thinking about how the Deathmatch build I used at the end seemed very similar to the no crit build, I think there was a funny thing happening there wherein one of the odd benefits of a build that basically never crits is that it performs _very_ consistently. And consistently performing teams can feel very good. Whereas as soon as I put Deathmatch and the CDMG circlet on Arle, sure it had higher avg dmg, but especially with only 44% crit rate it brought a layer of RNG to the team that makes it end up being inconsistent enough that it barely feels like an improvement in practice. A lot of atk% (and some EM) had to be sacrificed in favor of the crit after all, but crit is a stat that does NOTHING when you don't crit. So I think another interesting takeaway of the video is that the lower investment your build is, the more value other stats have for the consistency of your dmg output relative to crit. And there is also the factor of how atk% has higher relative value w/o Bennett buff being active too! Also, this is a minor mistake (imo), but I forgot to mention during the video that Furina is C2, which definitely makes a difference in the Sethos/Furina/Fish/Sige team. But as I showed, second half could've used a much stronger team in general for the 2nd/3rd chamber especially, AND I played it quite poorly. Which is to say that Furina C2 wasn't necessary there--it just made my skill issue and team choice not be a problem as much, despite doing no crit Arlecchino on the 1st half. Even with C2 Furina I thought it was going to be much harder than it was to clear lol. So hopefully nobody cares about that, but if you do I just ask you to keep in mind that it would've been much better for me to just use Neuvilette. But frick that.

Imo Arle is among really bad examples, I have tried same thing with Neuvilette, Lyney and Emilie and the flat damage multipliers/flat damage multiplier trigger time increase from cons help a lot in having those under 90s clear on one half (in Arle case it’s C1 and C2, you can even argue C6 cause one occasional crit saves 1-2s in her run). Your Cyno team on the second half seems like it’s not the team options, but rather how you execute the combos. Probably just me but it seems that Candace burst is not up often during your Cyno’s burst (which is very important for second half this abyss reset).
This would be a valuable series for new players if you showcased teams with more moderate crit values. I think there’s a stigma among the community that a piece with less than 35-40 CV is trash. fun video. I think you should try it with a non arlechino dps though. She is so busted that I refuse to increase her NA talent past lv 1 because she literally doesn't need it.
The reason crit is usually so important in the substats is because every other substat can be arranged from supports, but crit can't Take keqing, play nahida sucrose boom 450 em no sweat Take xiangling in national, instructor bennet+ sucrose gives 300 em, Bennet gives 1k attack, then there's noblese on xingqiu and then ttds from sucrose So in that team, if you go atk or em sands on xiangling, and doing so sacrifices crit cuz you need ER, you are throwing. Any em scaler is usually good after em sands plus nahida I guess the only exception would be hp scalers
Yep, crit is the priority artifact stat because of artifacts being the main way to get it. But just because its the priority doesnt mean the other stats arent still worthwhile is all this video really is an example of. Which is why I didnt say anyone should do this-its obviously still good to build crit. But for mamy players, it barely matters vs just utilizing other methods of amplifying your dmg and having the knowledge about mechanics/character kits to do so. Ultimately it depends on players personal preferences to determine how worthwhile it is to chase really rare artifacts.
About Arlecchino getting similar result no crit-few crit... she was a bad example and one of the few character (With Xiao), where Attack stats can give similar results than crit, any other character would be much better with crit circlet+ crit weapon
To group the two dudes who waddle on the first chamber, I have found that running to the opposite end of the chamber near the wall can help group them by cornering them because they will run to you and you know the next enemies spawn around there. Idk if it’s optimal for time saving but it’s way more consistent for killing both of them around the same time
Yeah back when this abyss first started I kinda got the feeling that positioning yourself better (notably more near the middle for that chamber since the new wave spawns the opposite sidd of the waddlers) was the key most of the time. Whether or not it’s worthwhile to go the wall or not I think just may depend on the teams you are using to an extent though, for sure. Its a weird chamber to optimize overall, but actually one I enjoy a lot for testing teams in (but its just rude with what the second chamber is lol)
Honestly my takeaway from this is that there is a decently large amount of power in Atk (buffed by Bennet), Elemental Dmg Bonus (buffed by Kazu) and elemental reactions like vape (enabled by Candace). [Edit to add: Also shows that Arlecchino herself is a strong carry with great talent multipliers on her attacks.] Is crit still very, very, important? Yes. Is a roll into crit usually more dmg than a roll into other stats? Typically yes, but part of that is because strong buffers can buff your Atk, EM, and Dmg% to high enough levels so you have enough of those stats and are free to focus on crit with your artifacts.
This is a very interesting concept, now im curious how a neuvilette will perform on only hp artifacts, not even the maruchusette set, or how raiden shogun will perform with only atk
I had my Neuvillette on Wanderer's troupe with focus on hp% until basically 2 weeks ago. He did respectable dmg ~4.7k-5.3k unbuffed per tick and crits could be as high as 20k but that was only once per charged attack if I was lucky 😂
Yeah I think Neuvi would work pretty decently doing this, though he is balanced somewhat around having the free crit from MH, but I think in the right team he wont have much of an issue!
There's no issue with the dorito on Arlecchino teams, all you have to do is fast rotations, so ur uptime is when he is visible, and about to go invisible, then, save some secs and some pact for his pillars, then you start rotation again before he is visible again.
There is actually a valid reason to go full attack specifically on Arlecchino (it's still not a practical reason mostly a meme build) because Arlecchino has a passive talent that increases her RES against all elements although it's capped at 3k atk though
I just started actually playing genshin I think like 3 weeks ago and I got jade spear on furinas banner with my first 8 pulls but I can't use I cause I have no characters who use that weapon type
Funny. This was my first 5* weapon too. Even r2! It took an eternity before I had a sensible use case for it. Generally you want energy recharge first crit comes later.
I mean yeah I probably could, but Ive not really been that interested in doing tier list videos. Maybe I should at least test the waters for it being a simple video I can make one week lol
@@SolunerraOk thanks for keeping it in mind! I'm thinking about going for a crit pole arm and any my pros an cons lists I make for them have me deadlocked D:
@@Damoney125 if you want to do hybrid Raiden then SoSS could be worthwhile, otherwise the best generic option is probably Homa. But some polearm units may value crit rate stat sticks more, or ER lol (eg engulfing on XL for enabling a solo pyro XL to be more doable and stronger)
I think the answer to that is just “it depends.” Most notably on what your clear times look like with your other team, and how many dmg relevant stats you are getting outside of crit. In Arlecchinos case, she has quite high base multipliers, some inherent free dmg bonus, then gets more dmg bonus from Kazuha & Candace, gets Bennett buff, Instructors buff (120 em from Candace), and vaporize amplifying the damage. So in the right team, any unit may be able to work suprisingly well without much crit, dependant on what your other team looks like for the abyss. But the most likely characters that work better than you may expect without really good builds on them are probably the most “strong” or “meta” characters. Eg Neuvilette I suspect would do pretty well too. I also kinda want to test how Fischl does on a 0 crit build in the future but farming no crit artifacts is weirdly annoying lol
Typically, characters that heavily utilize transformative reactions, especially Bloom or its derivatives. You are however only trading rolling for crit with rolling for EM. And you'll never suffer more than rolling a stupidly high CV on a piece that's going to Nilou anyway.
If you don’t build crit at all you would still want to optimally build a lot of ER and attack (and maybe EM); from the very beginning of this video, it doesn’t seem like your non-crit-stat artifacts have those. This is understandable, given that normally “good” artifacts would have a mix of crit stats and maybe some ER and EM or whatever specific stat the character may need, and I’m sure that you normally only keep “good” artifacts. You probably raised some random artifacts you had lying around just for this video. However, the fact that you’re using almost explicitly straight-up bad artifacts with low ER, attack and EM significantly throws off any results that you may have come to through testing. In fact, as you certainly know, all that some characters need to perform some specific elemental reactions (spread, aggravate, etc) would be their character level and EM, rendering crit stats useless. It should absolutely be possible to get 36 stars in abyss with all of your characters having minimal crit rate.
Yeah Id like to do two entire teams with this same concept at some point but getting two full teams of units with no crit stats is going to take a miseraeble amount of farming
Fischl is on a quite highly invested 4pc Troupe build on Harp, Furina was on a fairly standard build too, probably with more ER than necessary though, as I usually do that, Sigewinne was on 4pc MH with HP/HP/HP (for hybrid buffing/dps). Sethos on 4pc TF, slingshot, with ER timepiece. Same build as I used in my Sethos video recently.
I would like to do that eventually, but needing no crit pieces for two entire teams is a miserable amount of resources put into bad artifacts for one video lol. So maybe someday
EM dendro players: Yes, you can. 🗿

I do intend to do this eventually (but on all 8 characters and farming 4 star pieces is weird and hard to force myself to break habits to do lol)
@@Solunerra really have to be careful checking double CRIT 4 stars. I hope you luck
Yeah I forgot about that making her more tanky too haha
I just started actually playing genshin I think like 3 weeks ago and I got jade spear on furinas banner with my first 8 pulls but I can't use I cause I have no characters who use that weapon type
Funny. This was my first 5* weapon too. Even r2! It took an eternity before I had a sensible use case for it.
Generally you want energy recharge first crit comes later.
I feel like this would be fun with HP+EM no crit Hu Tao
Me with my 70k HP Nilou: yes 🗿
Pls tell me how bc mine has only 26k w lvl 20 artifacts 😭🙏
@@Hikikomori_1101 well i use 2pc 2pc HP % set, hp sands goblet and circlet, make sure to get good hp from substats too, and have a hp sword
@@rere6845 okay mine has 26k hp 2pcs noblesse and 2 pcs EM ig its trash for her and she has an EM weapon 😞
@@Hikikomori_1101 just try to get 55k to 60k hp first. 70k might be too much without hp sword
@@rere6845 okay thanks :D
Would you consider doing a Polearm weapon tier list after Emile's weapon releases? I feel like you have the most expertise when it come to this.
But some polearm units may value crit rate stat sticks more, or ER lol (eg engulfing on XL for enabling a solo pyro XL to be more doable and stronger)
you arlechino literally does more dmg than my 72-210 crit ratio 2pc atk and 2pc em build (overall), and i do have kazuha too.
This is what i think when i first play genshin
Great vid ty
Not only is it not bad but it's also still way faster than my team lol
i just returned to genshin after like a year and half, and this arlecchino girl deals more dmg non crit than my 70-220crit ratio childe ToT
Got supports and talents lvled up?
Interesting challenge
The fact that you can’t crit almost ruins the abyss 😭😭😭
don’t build crit on any of my characters and i only use like two elemental reactions but im getting through the content anyway 😓
just build two transformative reactions teams, anyone AR50+ can get full value
straight up if you have sucrose nahida and kuki you just need to spam EM on them and then get xingqiu or kokomi
Ok but most people know that what’s the challenge in that
i thought about this the other day 😭 wow
Now build a 4star artifact only team ^^
I would like to eventually! Just may take a while to collect 4 star pieces lol
@@Solunerra ah, okay.
Neuv, nilou, arle go brrr with those
Okay, this has piqued my interest
Dude's just roasting is at this point 😔
I trake the invis dude with arli X mark
Why didn't you use kazhua ult at all?
I think with Arle and Neuvi you can do this on both half
yo i got an ar 45 acc thats i horible like night mare bad i would love to see if you can make something work on in lmao
he does the same damage that my arle does with crits 😿
Talents and supports matter too.Remember that!
Who needs crit when you can hit harder than the mommy slipper🗣️🗣️‼️‼️
Me who still can’t clear the abyss watching like 😐 (it was a good vid though)
Yes. Never cared for outside of freezer teams.
0:54 wow arlecchino i’m disappointed
man... you can clear without any crit and i can barely clear with neuvi D:
I would love to know waht chrecters work well without crit! Rolling for crit is tiring
Be proud. You cooked.
Yeah Id like to do two entire teams with this same concept at some point but getting two full teams of units with no crit stats is going to take a miseraeble amount of farming
ok well now i just suck your non crit arlechinno did more than i’ve ever done 💀
This guy sounds like Raiyuden
This how i play but with crit those monster have a 1M Hp with me 😢😢😢😢😢
thank you for 1440p
Unrelated to the topic but what was your thought process behind not using Arle's burst to save her on 6:58?
can u show ur sethos team builds
Fischl is on a quite highly invested 4pc Troupe build on Harp, Furina was on a fairly standard build too, probably with more ER than necessary though, as I usually do that, Sigewinne was on 4pc MH with HP/HP/HP (for hybrid buffing/dps). Sethos on 4pc TF, slingshot, with ER timepiece. Same build as I used in my Sethos video recently.
How is my crit build navia has 3.5k atk with 180/66 cr💀. I thought it was normal
Why do you not use Kazuha ult?
That team wants to rotate fast. Kazuha ult results in a DPS loss. Plus pyro infusion would result in too much pyro and lost vapes on Candace.
But what if you made an entire team an atk% em hybrid build across the board no hyperbloom.
I would like to do that eventually, but needing no crit pieces for two entire teams is a miserable amount of resources put into bad artifacts for one video lol. So maybe someday
i have a question can a device being a borderline potato make it harder to clear the abyss?
If it lags a lotttt then I’d say so but you can try changing your settings if it’s that bad
Yeah if your using normal attack characters then you hit less normal attacks per rotation you can feel it especially when using eula
