I would like to see you do a series on Seventh-Day Adventists. I was raised as one and I am entering the Catholic faith. It took me a very long time to get out of that religion and I know a lot of people watch you and any help that can be offered to someone like me would be great.

I second this. I don't know too much about Seventh Day Adventism, but from what I do, it's very fear based, especially towards Catholicism. A calm, well-reasoned apologetic against it, like Joe is good at doing, would hopefully be very helpful to people.

Having studied Mormonism extensively these past five years or so, it's evident that [although you appear to believe LDS leadership has come clean about Smith's polygamy] there are many rabbit holes yet to be explored by yourself. LDS leaders have NOT made their gospel topic essays common knowledge among LDS membership, and it is very clear [when one converses with members] that LDS leaders have quietly buried such essays exposing MANY topics they have otherwise consistently referred to as anti-Mormon for many, many, many decades. I am married to a Mormon and I have experienced many times where even he has referred to facts as anti-Mormon. They are deeply programmed to keep that white picket fence around the abominable false prophet Joseph Smith. Said husband once told me that Smith’s so-called "revelation" for polygamy was due to God asking for men to support widowed women...or even that there were more women than men at that time, the latter of which is easily disproven via historical population data. Furthermore, my husband now believes [more recently] that Smith did not bring about polygamy, with him also believing among his sadly ignorant fellow Mormons that Brigham Young is the culprit of polygamy - this camp is now known as polygamy deniers. The hoops they jump through in their cognitive dissonance is heart breaking to witness, however, my constant prayer for my husband will not be in vain. LDS leadership should not be commended for bringing things to light...bottom line is, they haven't....it's ALL extensively watered down to keep their control of the members. Follow the money...dig deeper...one can still be charitable in doing so.

@robertstephenson6806 are you actually defending polygamy? Even the Mormon Church to this day no longer officially supports polygamy. If you are, I’d just say that David and Solomon are very poor examples of polygamy as both sinned against God through their wives and mistresses.
Celibacy is a practice most (not all, there are married priests) Catholic priests have. The Church doesn’t say that it’s wrong for a priest to be married but just that it’s a better practice for the Church to have it’s clergy forsake marriage for the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:12, 1 Corinthians 7:25-40)
To deal with your point about St. Paul’s words in 1 Timothy 3:2-5, I don’t think you’re getting the point. St. Paul didn’t say that a priest or bishop must be married, he is calling for ministers of moral virtue who have not divorced. Again, keep in mind, forsaking marriage is Biblical, we just have a practice that our clergy practice that Biblical practice.
Edit: one last thought. That passage seems to oppose polygamy because being married more than once is a Vice that disqualifies a person from ministry according to St. Paul.

    • @Centurion556
      @Centurion556 Год назад +14

@robertstephenson6806Christ himself argued against polygamy when he argued against divorce. One man, and one woman. This is why for the 2000 years of the church, marriage is between one man and one woman and divorce is not a thing. It is only since the protestant reformation that Christian marriage has been falsely shifted.
Also Christ makes it clear that we are not married in heaven, disproving eternal marriage as asserted by Smith.

If Joseph taught that Christians could have multiply wives, then, yes, he lied. However, the Catholic Church Church has told many lies. For instance, the Church has taught that...

    2. Peter was the first pope.
    3. the God head is triune.
    4. the holy spirit is a person.
    5. Jesus is God the Son.
    6. the Father, Son, and holy spirit are worshiped as the same deity.
    7. priests may be addressed as 'Father.'
    8. Mary was immaculately conceived.
    9. statues and relics can be worshiped.

1 and 3 are the same thing, and the rest of them aren't lies. Jesus is the son of God he is also the second person in the trinity. The holy spirit is the third person in the trinity. We Catholics do not worship statues or Mary we seek to add their voices to our own in our prayers, the prayer of a righteous person is more powerful then that of a wicked person thus we ask for others to pray for us. As for priests being called Father why did God tell Abraham he would be the Father of nations if he (God) doesn't change and it wouldn't have been that great a stretch to tell Abraham to use a different title.

    • @cbooth151
      @cbooth151 4 месяца назад

@@Gaz4113 "We Catholics do not worship statues or Mary."
Oh, Catholics don't worship statues? Guess again. The Catholic Encyclopedia clearly says: "A certain *WORSHIP* may be offered to inanimate objects, such as the relics of a martyr, the Cross of Christ, the Crown of Thorns, or even the *STATUE* or picture of a saint." So, do Catholics worship statues? Yes, they do.
You say Catholics don't worship Mary? Guess again. The Catholic Encyclopedia clearly says: "As the Blessed Virgin has a separate and absolutely supereminent rank among the saints, the *WORSHIP* paid to her is called hyperdulia."
You say the holy spirit is "the third person in the trinity." Guess again. The following CATHOLIC references say the holy spirit is *NOT* a person...
      1. “Although this spirit is often described in personal terms, it seems quite clear that the sacred writers [of the Hebrew Scriptures] never conceived or presented this spirit as a distinct person” (Edmund Fortman, The Triune God, p. 9).
      2. “Nowhere in the Old Testament do we find any clear indication of a Third Person” (The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1912, Vol. 15, p. 49).
      3. “The Jews never regarded the spirit as a person; nor is there any solid evidence that any Old Testament writer held this view…The Holy Spirit is usually presented in the Synoptic gospels (Matt., Mark, Luke) and in Acts as a divine force or power” (Edmund Fortman, The Triune God, pp. 6, 15).
      4. “The Old Testament clearly does not envisage God’s spirit as a person…God’s spirit is simply God’s power. If it is sometimes represented as being distinct from God, it is because the breath of Yahweh acts exteriorly…The majority of New Testament texts reveal God’s spirit as something, not someone."
      5. “On the whole the New Testament, like the Old, speaks of the spirit as a divine energy or power” (W.E. Addis and Thomas Arnold, A Catholic Dictionary, 1960, p. 810).
As you can see from the Catholic references above that the holy spirit was not viewed by the Jews as a person.. This is important because since the holy spirit is *NOT* a person, it can't be the third person of a three-person deity. In other words, *THERE IS NO TRINITY!!*
"As for priests being called Father why did God tell Abraham he would be the Father of nations if he (God) doesn't change and it wouldn't have been that great a stretch to tell Abraham to use a different title."
For starters, was Abraham a Christian priest?

I'll tell you want a video like this does. It just proves our point, that some zealots are willing to lie about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, because the truth offends them. And some have been unalived because of these zealots, or shoot like Grandpa's Grandpa.

Which part is a lie? It sounds like the LDS church admits that Joseph Smith was in a sexual relationship with Fanny in 1835, the same year Joseph smith was publicly against polygamy.

Only the Catholic Church doesn't lie. Tell them, Joe. Tell them about all of those apparitions of the Catholic Mary, and don't forget to mention the one when the Sun danced. Why did the Sun only dance once, when the catholic Mary appeared so many times, Joe?😲

Like asking, "Why did Jesus only spit on the ground and make mud with the saliva to heal only once, when Jesus healed so many times?

@@GumbyJumpOff God will only do for us, what we can't do for ourselves.
Because of our lack of faith in God, God gave us medical professionals to help us, when we need medical attention. Medical professionals can't heal, only God Can heal. The reason Jesus spat and made mud only once is a sign for us to seek help when we have medical problems, and when we seek help, If it is God's will, then God will heal us, and if it isn't God's will, then we die, and the doctors give up.
Also, Jesus never did the healing, Jesus had no divine powers once he manifested from spirit to flesh, Jesus always depended on God his Father to do the healing as required.

If you’re worried about the sun dancing your beef is with the New York Times and not with the Catholic Church.

@@ST-ov8cm The records show that the Catholic church says the Sun Danced not the New York Times. The bug stops at the Catholic Church.
No such apparitions of Mary ever took place, The Catholic Church Mary is a totally different Mary from the real Biblical Mary.
If all the lies were removed from the Catholic Church, the Catholic Church would have to shut down, because lies are all it has.
