"I'm a lawyer and you can trust me." I had to pause the video because I was laughing so hard. It's like the old joke. "I'm a lawyer." "Honest?" "No, the usual kind."
I'm willing to bet that Grace would've rummaged through her son and DIL's home, looking for things to give away, take for herself, sell or just use it for her selfish excuses. No means NO.
This is very true where I live! Even if someone has legal guardianship of the person, it can always be transferred to someone else or to a public guardian (or equivalent). In many countries where it's the culture to care for your aging relatives, it's still not a legal obligation. I think it's very selfish to have kids so they have someone to care for them, which many do. It might not even work out that way because they still have the choice. Parents like that usually mistreat their kids and act like they own them, then wonder why they go low or no contact as adults.
The moment my MIL addressed me as “young lady”, would be the moment I ended the conversion with, “I don’t respond that kind tone. I am an adult. Not a petulant child in need of reprimand.” Edit: my goodness! I’ve had basically this EXACT conversation with my own mother. She got it in her head that life would be “just perfect” if she lived with me! She even had a house all picked out for ME to by that included a mother in law suite. That way, I could take care of her! I was much more forceful with my response but she ignored everything I had to say.
Not just young lady, but calling her a brat too. Her whole freaking tone at the beginning was a good reason not to let her in. If she's like that if she's just trying to get in, then imagine how much worse if she actually moved in. All the crap she said when possible children were bought into the picture further confirms keeping her away. At the end she pretty much confessed every reason that they had to stay away from her and she still doesn't have a clue.

Another possible charge is "Practicing Law Without a License." Here in Nevada, a first offense can bring a fine of up to $1,000 and up to 6 months in jail.
One would think it would be illegal in every single state. Anyone who has doubts about whether a person actually is a lawyer should ask them for their law licence number (or whatever it is called). Grace is using excuses(and acting entitled). In a few cases not sending a child to pre-school could result Separation Anxiety, my baby cousin is an example of this. (Edited)
"Does he really wants to clean up the house day after day..." Uhm, if he was by himself, he would have to do it anyways. The same applies to you, too. And if you have to "ask" about any misgivings, then there must be some truths to it. Trying to create hydrocondriac tendency in the DIL. If you think about anything and everything that can possibly happen, you might as swivel up and die. "Further legal action..." Hey, let's play! See you in court.
All Sally’s attorney has to do is contact the Bar Association for their state to inquire if any lawyer by the name of Grace’s “lawyer “ is registered there. If not, then there’s the proof that Grace’s “lawyer”doesn’t exist. Bar Association is the entity that licenses lawyers so they can be attorneys. Lawyers are persons who have graduated law school, Attorneys are law school graduates who have passed a Bar Exam and fulfilled other requirements to become licensed attorneys
Grace (MIL): “I doubt it would be half as bad as you’re imagining it would be” - No, it would be twice or ten times or a HUNDRED times as bad! 😈 Grace is certainly NOT living up to her name. 🤦🏻
If Sally's lawyer had agreed to switch to representing Grace, he would have committed a serious ethical violation of the rules governing lawyers for which he could be suspended or perhaps even disbarred. And even if Sally's house had code violations, it would be a matter for the appropriate government authorities to pursue, not the subject of a civil suit by a private citizen.
The lawyer bit instantly made me laugh. One they probably cant use her phone. 2 they wouldn't text. 3 they may call but that Probably be to set up a meeting. 4 u can believe ud probably get mail about it. I would respond saying im gonna talk to a lawyer about this n file a police report for this. Then sit back n smoke a preroll n laugh knowing no matter what. They tried to sink my ship but set there own on fire lmao
I would have told thie "lawyer" to serve me so I can present the legal documents to my attorney. This is so silly this woman had to be drunk to come up with an idea like this and think it would work.
IKR. My grandmother was much like this bossy and manipulative old hag, and it was a neighbourhood joke that grandfather died young just to get away from her and get some peace and quiet.
I'm laughing at Grace saying she a old lady 😂 my mom is ninty and still lives alone and takes care of her four bedroom home with only needing help with the yard, vacuuming, tub and shower.
Grace getting off with a Warning is right. Since all she did was just make a threat via text. All the while, she ends up learning what she did was a crime and that puts the fear of god into her. As she realized that she could have been arrested. Leading to her being scared about what would happen if she were to stalk or try to move in with her son and daughter in law. Of course, the idea of her getting arrested and going to Jail would do only one thing. Giving her a place to stay that provides three meals a day. So it's good that she's not given such a luxury. Since it's too good for her to get that sort of treatment.
Yeah but the court came to the conclusion that she did it due to her aging state, it said she was only 50 years so how is that an aging state? Any court said that to me I'd have been charged with contempt of court and if I were the judge I'd have fined her for being a disgrace to 50 year olds! 🤣
Ignorance of the law is no excuse! "Ignorance of the law is no excuse in any country. If it were the laws would lose their effect, because it can always be pretended" Thomas Jefferson
It isn't a lawers job to discuss building code violations. That falls on city inspectors and code enforcement. Grace was incredibly stupid to even try this. Not just that, but it is in fact highly illegal to impersonate a lawyer and is an offense that can end with imprisonment, it blows my mind she had to be TOLD that. I thought most adults with a brain would already know that. Grace really was just honestly brainless.
Apparently, Grace has money...as someone who struggles financially, I know her fears are ridiculous...BUY some companionship and security! EVERYTHING is easier when you have money. This story was a hoot
in almost all cases it is not a good idea to have a M.I.L. move in...once you are stuck with them there is no way you can get rid of them...especially if the space is limited for two..three is too much....find another senior to get as a roommate...that way you would have similar attitudes, and common interests...

No means 100% NO , Grace needs to respect their boundaries and back off right now. Their reasons for not wanting to live with Grace is perfectly reasonable.
Grace is using excuses(and acting entitled). In a few cases not sending a child to pre-school could result Separation Anxiety, my baby cousin is an example of this.

About as hilarious as those scam phone calls from a guy called Bob Johnson with a very thick Indian accent
Seen this story before, or similar, but not on this channel, because I always click 'like' so that I know I have watched a story before....
Grace is just beating a dead horse about moving in. Sheesh
I didn't know there was a difference between a lawyer and an attorney!
Grace (MIL): “I doubt it would be half as bad as you’re imagining it would be”
- No, it would be twice or ten times or a HUNDRED times as bad! 😈
Grace is certainly NOT living up to her name. 🤦🏻
OP needs to have her mother speak to her MIL.
This one was too funny.
Just tell her, 'We're nudists at home."
Lawyer, so phoney. Who would believe that?
The lawyer bit instantly made me laugh. One they probably cant use her phone. 2 they wouldn't text. 3 they may call but that Probably be to set up a meeting. 4 u can believe ud probably get mail about it. I would respond saying im gonna talk to a lawyer about this n file a police report for this. As it legit seems someone is pretending to be a lawyer and that name could be legit n if it is id contact the name owner n let them know there name is being used. Then sit back n smoke a preroll n laugh knowing no matter what. They tried to sink my ship but set there own on fire lmao
Oh a layer using the clients phone. OK sure... What is your BAR number?
I would have told thie "lawyer" to serve me so I can present the legal documents to my attorney. This is so silly this woman had to be drunk to come up with an idea like this and think it would work.
🤣🤣🤣"How many years do you think I have on this Earth?!" About 30-40, and you are not spending them in our home... she is acting as if she's in Hospice
I can see why Harold decided to go home early. 😂😂😂
IKR. My grandmother was much like this bossy and manipulative old hag, and it was a neighbourhood joke that grandfather died young just to get away from her and get some peace and quiet.
Husband, wife and Lawyer all had marvelous backbones. Each one would not let the MiL pull her bull sized shit
50 is still young. Why wasn't she working?
The ignorance of the law doesn't absolve you from criminal responsibility.
21:48 Grace, just cut the crap will you?

My god Grace you’re the same age as me 50 & you’re acting like you’re 90 instead!
Right?! I'm 50 as well and I'm just smh.
@@CattyTomfoolery here’s us living our best lives & having fun also. xXx
That outcome was satisfying. Fitting for a control freak.
Does Grace not realize that notice of building code violations falls to the city to notify occupants of?
Ignorance of the law is no excuse!
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse in any country. If it were the laws would lose their effect, because it can always be pretended" Thomas Jefferson
With a mother like that, Jeremy has an easy time cleaving to his wife.
"I am a lawyer and you can trust me?" There's a self-conflicting statement.😂😂
I wonder if Carl Gray is related to Earl Gray, the famous tea magnate.
PERFECT ENDING❤❤❤
"I'll cut you off."
Don't threaten me with a good time.
.
"I'm a lawyer. You can trust me."
Which is it?
Grace could and should get a job. At 50 she's too young to be going into retirement mode.
Although... being insane could make that difficult.
Wow.... Grace is really trying to gaslight her DIL. Probably the reason y she and her daughter can't get alone is because their alike.
Hang up the phone. Block the mother in law. Move somewhere else.
This video gave me mild chuckles at how people like this actually exist even if this story is exaggerated
….why does the “Carl Gray” sound like Palpatine…? 😁🤣
If Grace is afraid of living alone, finding a roommate should help, although I can't see anyone wanting to be a roommate with Grace.
Grace needs a Bingo buddy 😂
I would NEVER ask to move in with my children......No Way! I would even move in to a Retirement home than invade their privacy!
A 50 year old calling herself an old lady, how sad. I have a neighbor already keeping tabs on me and it's so annoying!
