Hello, I have a similar motor. The manual primer you pressed. Once engine has started do you press it all the way in or leave it out some. My motor stalls if I push the primer all the way in after its started. I cant find a manual or startup procedure for this engine. Thanks.

It should go all the way back in once the motor is running and warmed up a little. Less than 1 minute it should be all the way in. If you have to leave it partially out then your motor is starving for fuel. Plugged low speed jet in the carb or sucking air somewhere in the fuel supply. Does your bulb pump up hard and stay hard? OMC 2+4 or seafoam may clear it for you. Both are fuel cleaning additives that work.
The steps I went through on the video should cover the start up sequence from a manual.

@@pinelakeparts hello, thank you again for your help. I’ve replaced all fuel lines, rebuilt the fuel pump, new fuel primer, cleaned the carb and checked all orifices on carb their clear. Still the motor will not idle with primer fully engaged. I have my air/fuel needle 1 1/4 turns out. Could the problem be I tuned the fuel mixture needle to the motor with primer half way engaged. I’ve bought parts to rebuild carburetor, the top plastic was cracked and I glued it back together, I’m sure there are no cracks but to be sure fully gunna rebuild carb. If that doesint fix it I’m not sure what to look at next. The primer bulb stays hard, the engine will run continuously no issue with primer half engaged, once I fully engage the motor stalls within 10 seconds. Thank you for your help.

@@pinelakeparts Wanted to thank you again for steering me into the right direction. The owner prior to me installed the wrong top body cover gasket. Discovered this after I bought a carb rebuild kit. I finally have my outboard running after a year of troubleshooting repairing various bad parts. Thank you sir.

Good eye! I commented on it not "peeing" in the video but it is so hard to hear me over the exhaust fan that you probably did not hear my comment. Mud wasp had plugged the tell tale. Poked it a couple times after the video and it took off strong. I use the inside of a ball point pen, flexible and not sharp. You could see the water spraying out of the upper exhaust in the video which is the best indicator, just not easy to see when driving the boat! I also shoot them with a Pyrometer when I am doing my pre-sale inspection of a motor. Thanks for the comment. Pat
