This is fantastic! Two of my favorite songs from their first LP. I hadn't seen any performance footage from that era before. Really reminds me of how and why their sound stood out so far from the synth-soaked poses of the late 80s.
I agree, and how come LT didn’t become more popular? It’s a cosmic mystery…. and this is coming from someone who adores Cocteau Twins, very different but both revered
My favorite lyrics Stephen wrote: "Every street light sparkles. Keys and loose change jangle. The words of love are crystals in the air and you always leave them hanging there."
I'm overjoyed at this upload. Thanks so much for finding and sharing this. Words to live by. Stephen Duffy has always been a quiet genius, much like Paddy McAloon.
The Lilac Time, Paradise Circus, Astronauts.... such masterpieces! :)
You got that right!
Brilliant, a wonderful poet

I bought all the albums back then. When I listen, it fells like flying on a cloud, dreaming.
Waoooo...what a gem! and that white TLT t-shirt! :)
So many amazing b-sides / extra tracks on CD singles. Saw them in 1989. amazing.

Brilliant filmage !!!
It’s great to see their performance! Thanks very much.
genius.
Where was this performed & recorded?
So ironic he ended up arguably making more beautiful songs in this homespun style than Roddy Frame, who went pop for a while
Sure glad he didn't join Duran Duran full time
Indeed. Imagine not having those excellent Lilac Time and solo recordings. Simply the best songwriter from Birmingham.
