The rest of the EVA pilots are basically impressed with the manliness that Shinji is showing which isn't a surprise when you consider that Ryoma has been teaching Shinji how to fight/be a man for the last two games.
Clearly, Bright has been educating Kouji in the ways of getting other people's shit together, because he Bright Slapped Ryoma with a Big Bang Punch.
