The thing that scares me the most about this car is the rear seat floor patch repairs. Consistent with the sail panel water damage, the rear window seal has failed. Water got inside and rusted out the bottom of the rear seat. I fell sorry for whoever tries to remove the rear window seal, as the bottom section of the rear window sill is rusted out and will need serious repair. Consistent with the fact that a "ghetto" aluminum tank was used in lieu of a stock replacement tank, shows who ever molested this car, knew what they were doing... Shame.
Rear window seal failure and subsequent leaking was common on other cars back then too. My '71 Impala suffered from the same problem. Water got behind the back seat and rusted out the bottom, and rusted part of the trunk floor too. I had that car from '73 until '91, and it didn't leak until '90. I tried to get it fixed, but man it was just too far gone. I sold it for 800 bucks and the guy parted it out, which was understandable. It was a beautiful, reliable car for a very long time. But I do feel sorry for whatever sucker buys that Buick with the same problems. To repair damage like that will be extremely costly.
I'd take that home with me in a heartbeat. It would make a nice weekend driver. So what if the seats and door panels do not match. This car is meant to be driven, not a trailer queen!
The original tanks are extremely expensive, the original was probably rusted out. I feel sorry for any sucker who buys that thing. If it were a '63 or '64 Chevy, then it would be worth fixing it, there are tons of parts for old Chevy's at decent prices. Just a starter motor for that Buick runs about 250 bucks and good luck if you get the right one. Some of them had different sized starters that aren't interchangeable. In my opinion working on that old buick would be a nightmare.

I had this car a and a 4 door as well I bought it in 1982 and it still had the seat covers on it I rebuilt the mtor myself.
..."transmission shifts great"...it's a Dynaflow...it doesn't shift...torque converter drive only unless you manually select low or reverse...
Great car. Had one in the late '70's. Only issue was a broken motor mount, I replaced both.
I had that exact car exact color scheme everything. I bought it from an older lady in Connecticut and you know he had thirty-nine thousand miles on it
The radio probably works it takes a couple of seconds it has to warm up first.

The transmission doesn't shift. It's a Dynaflow. The door panels are not close to original. It's much too loud. All that said it's a nice car

The power steering is so smooth like driving on water, i had one regret to have sold it !
Isn't that a turbine transmission ? It really fights the stall speed. 8 MPG if your lucky lol

What's the story with the fuel cell in the trunk? Is the original gas tank out of service, do you know?
