I drive hard only after oil is 70°C, use premium fuel and also CERATEC and injector cleaner additive from Liquimoly. I have a stage 1 ecu map but I am afraid if my engine is dead, then they will not change it under warranty. What do you think?
hey there, I own an A35 hatchback with the same engine. The M260’s valve wear is tied to prolonged cold-start idling (high RPM to heat the catalytic converter). Fix: avoid idling.
And In mainland China, Mercedes-Benz officially extends valve/cylinder head coverage to 15 years or 240,000km. Some owners in local communities report claiming warranty without reverting mods (e.g., Stage 1 ECU, downpipe, GPF delete). But this is risky - dealerships may still deny claims if they link failures to tuning.
@@杨卢阳thanks for this information. So owners of m260 engine should immediately start driving the car after turning on the engine, or wait at least so the idle drops under 1k rpm, after catalyst converter heating (more less 10 seconds) ?
@@davidszymanski3473 Start driving as soon as the engine runs smoothly (no warnings lights) - do NOT wait for RPM to drop. You can find this advice in Mercedes' Owner's manual
