      The problem with cutting into a warm bread loaf is that you ruin the rest of the loaf that you don't eat. The steam escapes and the bread goes stale even faster than what it usually would. But, I get it. It's hard (understatement) to not try the bread while its still warm.

    • @SyBernot
      @SyBernot 2 года назад +33

      Yeah she made the right call to try it hot out of the oven. If the bread is going to last for a few days then yeah by all means let it cool. If the intention is to eat the loaf at one or two sittings then you have to have a hot slice right out of the oven before all the volatiles evaporate off. It's a bit like popcorn, it's amazing for the first 20-30 minutes but the next day it's just mediocre and warming it up does nothing to bring back that fresh out of the oven flavor.

    • @grimmquinn2003

      @@Verlopil well actually, the carbonation does add a bit more gas to the bread, it will be slightly fluffier. But at the same time, the yeast, although active, is still reacting with the sugars in the soda. So it balances it out to be like sandwich bread. Most store bought breads have about 28 grams of sugar (which is a lot) and this one has about 39 grams. So an 11 gram difference without the carbonation would just be a sweet dense bread. Its basically just a cheat to make fancier less healthier store bought bread. But bread is bread. Nothing to get upset about lol.

    Can we talk about the ad for a second? I usually skip those, but she has such a way with describing the product and giving me the information that I need to know...that I become genuinely interested in the product.

    I don’t drink soda, so i decided to try one of my favorite brands Waterloo Watermelon flavored and it was exactly how she said hers came out. Not as dark, but the same consistency. Delish! I threw on some vegan cream cheese and it was 😋

    This girl is actually agreeing with all these comments. If you look at the title it’s in quotation marks. She is saying that’s what the vlog she initially watched was called, she also said it can’t be just coke and flour because bread needs a leavening. So she agreed that it’s not possible

  • @SteveInScotland
    @SteveInScotland 2 года назад +9

    This isn’t what I signed up for, it didn’t say yeast, sugar and salt in the description. Sorry Emma love you but this is clickbait and it’s annoyed me and I’ve been here a long time!

      Emmy is just repeating what the original video had as a title (the one that she got the recipe from)

      I thought maybe it would be self- rising flour. I was disappointed, as well, as four more ingredients were added. It turned out gorgeous though!

    Now, wait just a minute! That's a basic bread recipe, minus egg and milk, adding coke, instead. That's NOT just adding coke to flour!
    Edit after reaching the end of the video (hoping I was going to see a second bread made with just cola and flour) and after I double checked the description & title.... I'm very disappointed that you used this click-bait title. You've always been so honest, Emmy, but this is the second video I know of wherein you've mislead with the title. The other of which I'm aware is the "2 ingredient" (egg, sugar & a measured quantity of water, so 3!) fluffy bread dessert. Even if you're debunking another video, you should be honest about YOUR actions in your title. I expected to see flour and cola....

    • @firestartermoogi56
      @firestartermoogi56 2 года назад +2

      Not being argumentative, but if you notice, Emmy put the quote marks around the title which is followed by 🤔"Let's test that". I don't feel she was trying to do a click bait appeal, rather just doing what we all appreciate her for, testing out recipes that she hasn't tried and what viewers are looking for. 😊

    Been a small town artisanal baker for 12 years, and let me say you nailed this recipe, any pastry made with soda is definitely a shortcut, but it adds the carbonization to activate the yeast a little faster (not to replace yeast as many people suggest) But its still a cheap and easy bread, good for breakfast.
