Very well explained April! I watched your first session about Power Platform for Developers during recent bootcamp and you amazingly present the content with lots of knowledge you have. Keep it up! Would you also be able to pls throw some light on Power Platform relevance and significance over other platforms like OutSystem (they say it's Dev friendly)? Thanks again for bringing all the useful content for us!

Oh, I love that!! "PowerPoint and Excel had a baby and that is Power Apps"!!
I tell people that Power Apps is "MS Access in the cloud". Millions of customers have wanted to be able to build MS Access databases for the web and since MS removed the Access Web Apps the nearest tool for that is now Power Apps.
That's a good comparison too!
Very nice and crisp video
Thank you so much 😀
Great introduction thanks
Glad you liked it!
Woww .. well explained !! Thank you soo much..

Super Cool reference, "Baby of Excel & PowerPoint". :)

Better late than never! Thanks for watching and welcome to the party :)
Great video explanation. I'm a click and figure it out type of person who reviews all types of videos to help me at work. Power Apps is my new adventure and I have immensely improved my SharePoint with it. Only issue I have is getting pass step three of connecting Excel as a data source in Power Apps. I keep getting a message concerning API share error etc.
Special thanks.. I came to know for 1st time that InfoPath replacement in SharePoint is Power Apps..!
You're welcome - thanks for watching!
Great tip.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your videos
You're so welcome, thanks for watching!
@@AprilDunnam Do you have full videos creating entire business solutions using Canvas PowerApps and SharePoint lists?
Hi April ... Continuous teach us all about Power Apps from the beginning, step by step as usual, for all of us who are beginners, please.
Perhaps deveolping a project for each options of Power App you showed us.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion!
My first day at job. Read a lot of documents, and learnt. Watched your video and concepts are crystal clear in 20 minutes. Thank you, ma'am.
This made my day. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!

Hi there .Thanks for sharing it ; i live here in Seattle Washington and I’m the leader for the power apps community for my home country Benin .I’m hoping to be at Microsoft build conference in May .It will be great to meet you in person if you are attending too …
Thanks
Nice one April
Thanks!
thank you
You're welcome!
awesome love you
Glad you liked it - thanks for watching!
Great video, you mentioned that canvas and model-driven apps are "Internal tenant facing" except if you use extra licensing. About this, I only need to get a new license under "my company" and use it with an external user (E.G. a client)?
Awesome video. Thank so you much. I got a suggestion, you could make a video about PowerApps licensing , since it's kinda confusing what you can do with an E5 365 Office subscription vs (Per App vs Per User) licence vs Portal Licenses for anonymous and authenticated users.
Licensing is always confusing for sure! Thanks for the suggestion. Not sure if you saw this video or not but it doesn't a pretty good job at tackling licensing - ruclips.net/video/f_GwhZrwNtI/видео.html
Hey April great job. Can you also make a video on creating sample help desk canvas app. I have seen some users had issues while opening canvas app “Error opening file” and some were no data source provided even after connecting to data sources.
super content
Thank you!
wow amazing channel
Glad you like it! Thanks for watching :)
Excellent video! I have a question that I hope you can answer. What would you recommend if I want to develop a portal for data entry? I want Excel files to be read to the portal and have the datasheets sent to Dynamics 365 as entities (tables). We can rule out Portal as this should be an internal application.
Good summary. Why can't Microsoft communicate this well? 🙄 Thanks for a superb video.
Thanks Josep!!
Thanks April, please tell me, if I'd like to develop a custom e-commerce for collection order from my external customers, which kind of solutions on power platform you suggested to me ? Thanks 🙏🙏🙏
great video, would you be able to make one for Submitting Nested Collection to individual record item to sharepoint?
hey - are you talking about a parent/child type scenario? I can add that to my list
Hi, April. We want to build a PowerApp (Canvas) that has a UI that displays events on a gantt-like time bar UI. The gantt needs to be interactive... if I need to edit one of the events, I can click or right-click to navigate to the specific record for edit. How would you do that in Canvas?
Really useful this. I wonder what the experience would be like building an Canvas to Work against lots datasources incl SharePoint Lists and CDS ( for the buiness rules) . Do we get the best of both worlds?
Hi Daniel - Thanks for watching! Yes with Canvas apps you can bring in data from a variety of data sources including CDS 🙂
PowerPoint + Excel + Access :)
😉
Hi when we will choose canvas app and we will choose model driven app let me know madam
@April Dunnam - Is there any way to create a Canvas app that will suit a desktop, tablet and a phone? How would you approach that?
Hey Hannah! Yes you can do that using the new responsive templates for canvas apps. This blog post talks through them and how to use them: powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/new-layout-containers-in-canvas-apps-make-responsive-apps-easier/
Hi April Could you please help, I need to use PowerApp To connect to Azure SQL table using anvas and data flow to display selected data in a tabular form and graphical form, the table in SQL contains large amout of data so I will need to use a query to get a summarized data which wil have around 1000 rows, can you please help me, thanks and regards,
April, If I wanted to jumpstart my knowledge where can I take full courses on PowerApps, etc
My suggestion would be to start here with this free Udacity course that some of the Microsoft Power Platform folks put together: aka.ms/UdacityPower. There's also some companies that provide full courses like Power Apps 911 and Pragmatic Works to name a few.
You can say I am new, I was told go to RUclips and find tutorials, that really confused me , then yesterday I was given your website and I was told that you are the best in this ;-) , I will follow your advice and hopefully it will help me , thanks you
I have large amount of data in SQL, can I transfer it do Dataverse and build Model Driven App?
Hey Aleksandra! Yes you can do that with data flows. Here's more info: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/dataflows/overview-dataflows-across-power-platform-dynamics-365
Hello Sir, how can I create an Application or for example I have 3 representatives of 3 different companies: Paul for company 1, Pauline for company 2 and Jean for company 3. and I will make sure that when everyone connects only sees the information to enter for their company and not those of others but of course I, who am an administrator, can see everything ... Thank you
My pronoun's are she/her. I am not a sir. That can be done with Power Apps. Google/Bing role based security
Hello! Amazing video! I hope someone can help me :( I am trying to create sort of a knowledge base for my team at work, but my info or data source comes from OneNote and Teams (a private channel I created), it includes links, PDFs, excel files and I would LOVE for my team to see all this info like an app so that only one person can edit the information and the rest and see it and access it. Is PowerApps the best option to do this? And can I import my info from OneNote and Teams itself? Thank you!
Hi Grace - Power Apps could be an option for that. There is a OneNote for Business connector that you can get information from a page and display it in there.
@@AprilDunnam OMG you replied, thanks sooo much!! So what you are saying is using Power Apps and export the information from OneNote, is that correct? Because using OneNote by itself could be tricky because people could edit the information and that's what I don't want, I only want them to see it, or get the links, download the files, etc. Thank you so much once again! Been watching Power Apps videos every single night to see if this works for my idea
@@HikaruLychee Yes exactly, you can use the OneDrive connector and export the data into Power Apps with an HTML control or Rich Text Input so that users can read it but not change the text.
@@AprilDunnam perfecttt Im going to try it, I will get back to you with updates. I can't thank you enough!! 💜🔥
Lol, thanks for pineapple express reference
🙃🍍
Excel and PowerPoint had a baby 🤣
:)
Why is everyone doing the "here is my intro" crap?
At least Shane and Reza do it too. Not sure if this is a widespread cliche.
-
Btw, the content is very good.
Shane was the original one, then I started incorporating it and then Reza not long after. If you think it's crap you can skip past. Most of us include timestamps in the videos to go directly to what you want. Why do I do it? Because it gives me a way to tell people what I talk about and point them to where they can contact me and is a good way to break out the intro and the content. It's a very common formula for many RUclipsrs - tell an overview - intro graphic - content - wrap up. To be fair, when I realize the exact words "here's my intro" were being everywhere I started changing how I do things just because I wanted to have some originality in my content. I'm sure you didn't mean to be offensive in your comment. We are all learning and experimenting with different ways of doing things on our RUclips channels .
@@AprilDunnam no harm intended. Your content is phenomenal by the way. You have a gift I wish I had.
Not skipping your content.
The intro thing is just a personal preference.
Great video!
Thanks!
