    SS diagnosis depends on both test results and clinical findings. Is the SS diagnosis dependent on +Ro and +La? Early SS sufferers may have a +Early SS Panel and -Ro and -La: does that mean you do nothing as far as rx because Ro and La are negative? Absolutely not! They have SS and need tx to slow the progression. Studies have found that a % of SS patients never turn +Ro and +La but they have long standing symptoms (ie 10yrs+). Also SS patients don’t necessarily have to have a second AI disorder such as RA or SLE. It may manifest down the road but in the meantime they have SS and need tx.
    This “criteria” as it stands hinders a proper dx and therefor tx of many people with SS. I agree other things should be ruled out but symptoms+earlySS Panel+lymphocytic infiltration = SS. Lastly, what is the significance of having an ANA of 1:320 to dx SS? Anything above 1:80 is positive. Furthermore, the ANA number is not an indicator of severity of disease. The number can fluctuate and usually patients aren’t given the ANA multiple times. Once it’s positive, it’s positive. Just some issues to think about regarding SS. Diagnosis needs to happen as early as possible so the patient can receive tx ASAP. SS is just as serious a disorder as SLE and is too often not dx in a timely manner. Good video😊

    Periodontal doesn't mean between the teeth. The periodontal tissues are the ones "around" (hence "peri-") the tooth, which includes the gingiva, the cementum, the periodontal ligament and the alveolar bone. The periodontal diseases are basically gingivitis and periodontitis.

    If a lip biopsy test is negative in someone with anti-ssa who has no disease syndrome, then what disease can trigger this antibody?
    Is it possible for someone with anti ssa not to get autoimmune disease?

    • @bughesamiombu2909
      @bughesamiombu2909 Год назад

      He said it already that SSA is not specific only for SS. Which means it can be caused by other autoimmune diseases like RA,SLE,Myositis,sarcoidosis and others. Hence the need for differetial diagnosis .

      @@bughesamiombu2909 I had dryness in my eyes as a result of clogged tear glands, my ophthalmologist said I was schorgen from the blood test. However, the rheumatology doctor could not diagnose because the salivary gland biopsy was negative. The rheumatologist said that the problem I had with the eye was from using the computer excessively. However, he said that there is a high risk of contracting this disease in the future.
      Some doctors said that the antibody may be positive due to the infection in my blood. They asked me to repeat the blood test periodically.
      In the articles I reviewed, it was explained that antibodies first appeared and then the disease appeared. Is this true?

    • @bughesamiombu2909
      @bughesamiombu2909 Год назад

      @@fatihe.1338 Now I get the full picture .
      Your ophthalmologist did a good job referring you to a rheumatologists with the positive test result for Schogren.
      However, the rheumatologists can't diagnose you with Schogren on the basis of one positive laboratory test result. Plus in addition to that , lip biopsy came out negative .
      Not enough criteria to make a diagnose .
      There is a need for a differential diagnosis inorder to exclude the possibility of other autoimmune diseases with similar clinical manifestation.
      Whether or not autoimmune antibodies appear first before the actual disease manifests , I can't make any comment on that .
      But I do hope the Schogren's test result at the ophthalmologists is a false positive.
      Do you have any one related to you with an autoimmune condition ?
