I feel like Maddie wasn't really in love; she liked his attention and his presents, the fact that he protected her. Later on, when the abuse began, she just convinced herself that he is good because he gives her attention.
@@p4py537 Completely agree with you! Although you missed my point: Maddie was, from my perspective, not in love in the first place: she didn't like him for who he was, she liked his attention and the fact that he was overly worried over her. And he made feel her safe, as it is said in the series (although we all know Rue is an untrustworthy storyteller)
Sometimes people fall into this type of unstoppable love no matter how toxic that relationship is they just can’t leave it because they’re too in love with that person and they just can’t stop it
This is one of the only edits that doesn’t romanticize there relationship. This shows how miserable they made each other but how much they needed each other.
@@rubylou3620 I think he's partly the reason she doesn't feel good anymore. I also think it has something to do with her parents and their relationship.
@@irlane9539 I agree with both Maddy's dad being an alcoholic and her mom probably heavily working she probably didn't get attention at home and with Nate and his father situation I don't really think they could have grown up without a few problems
I was in an abusive relationship in high school too. Someone had the audacity to say it couldn't have been "that bad" because it was just high school. I promise you it was.
I’m so sorry, honestly dude it really doesn’t matter what stage of your life you’re in or where you’re at, an abusive relationship is bad, an abusive relationship is an ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP period. Like you can’t say it’s not that bad bc of-like no, ew that’s so messed up and makes me mad
For me the only one who truly got to know the real Nate was Jules, Maddie sees him as a way to get the things she wants, and he sees her as one more tool to build the image he wants to project
@Savannah Rosenfield yes, but unintentionally he undiscovered things of him that he hasn't told anyone, like the hate for his parents and so, you can even watch the sequence when he and Jules are writing each other, and you see under the covers how he's truly happy talking to her, the rest of the show he smiles but always with spitefulness never truly honest, like you never see him with Maddie
I get if people say that from the first look ( without him abusing her) the relationship is goals, but thats actually kind of the point for me. Being in a abusive relationship does not have to be obvious. ( also i havent watched the series so I just watched edits with „cute“ moments and abusive moments, so if its different in the series Im sry) And yeah the way he protected her was cute, eveyone wants someone who protects you, but the abusive situation is not and thats what is also being shown in this edit which i really appreciate. Abuse is wrong and if someone is in such a relationship, I hope that you are able to get out of there, talk to friends, family, teachers or even the police!
I hope you're ok and hope you get out of it because it can be very toxic and to the point where it can be dangerous for you're mental health, ill pray for you! 😊
He knew how to protect her from everyone but himself

@Savannah Rosenfield he was a son of a bitch to her but he truly likes her, his internalized homophobia doesn't let him truly accept himself
@Savannah Rosenfield at first I think that was his original intention, but it escalated
It's sad how relatable this is. I was with someone because I thought it was love even the abuse I told myself it was normal and ever couple has fights
Fun fact: the singer of this song, Ashe Wilson, saw my Instagram story🥺
I love her
I literally looked this up because I thought of this song while watching Euphoria. So glad someone else made the connection too.
Gooood videooooooo. That was great! Perfect song and perfect scenes ❤️
