Hi Rob! I’ve been digging your channel a bunch and I’m coming to the show next weekend! I just wanted to point out a trick for pup swaps, if the strings are off and you need to test the pickups you can plug the guitar into an amp and lightly tap whatever pickup is selected with a screwdriver and you should hear the “cloink” through the amp. That way you can test the connections without stringing it up. Keep up the great videos, bro! Looking forward to hanging out Friday!
21:17 The singer from my old band Malice213 saw you guys split the crowd and we started doing it too... I didn’t feel right stealing it but it’s probably one of the coolest thing I’ve ever seen on stage.
I really miss Chimaira. The first time I heard them was Pass Out of Existence and I was absolutely hooked. I even saw the Farm Club recording. I felt like they were very unique and when Impossibility came out I was blown away and spent every day after that turning my friends onto them. One of my friends (passed away)that was wheelchair bound and he loved Power Trip so much that he would hangbang and he got so into it one night while intoxicated he damn near fell out of his chair. Such great memories. Id do anything to be able to experience that again. Or cruising around town(our small town had a constant stream of people who would cruise on the weekends) and jamming to Pictures in the Gold Room as loud as we could.
I copied and pasted my comment from another video btw. I'm so thankful that you guys did some behind the scenes DVDs and such. I've bought a couple of them and still have them to this day. They'll be with me until the end of my days.
Man, we need Chimaira back again for new ripping riffs and kick ass tunes. Great to see you both sharing good memories with all of us. You guys rock¡¡¡🤘🤘🤘
Love the whole video. I'm a retired drummer myself I just couldn't deal with the touring but I loved making something out of nothing. Such a great conversation. I'm glad I discovered this channel. Severed is my favorite tune out of your discography.
Just wanted to say thanks rob for doing this and getting to my question it really means alot to me. Its the little things like reading my question and talking the time to answer and talk about it. Also would like to say thank to Mark for taking the time to answer and talk with you about them. You both are the best dudes around.
Dude, I was ear to ear for a solid 5 minutes there remembering the feeling of the crowd splitting, shoulder to shoulder with your brothers and sisters, looking across no man’s land ready to go to war with the other side. “1 2 3 EXPLODE” 🤘😎
“Notes don’t matter nothin’” is so damn catchy. I’m a nerd who watched those making ofs a lot when I’m out of new movies and every time I watch this one I sing Notes for a good week, sticks in your head worse than Dr Feelgood
It's just straight up awesome seeing y'all interact together and answer questions. As a fan from the beginning of Chimaira, I appreciate that you guys take the time to make these videos. Smooches n' spanks.
32:56 visualize your self in your mind going to a stereo that’s playing the song and turn it off. You can then put on a new cassette/CD/Record/mp3 of a song you want to listen to or simply leave the room. It takes a lot of practice but once you master this, it works every single time.

Ha! I figured out the reason it was written down like that! Thinking back, it was because we played the song Jade (which is in the key of G) at our last chimaira reunion show... And I now remember Mark saying, "I'm only going to use the 8th string, so just tune it to G. The other strings don't matter." So that's why that piece of tape is like that. @@RobArnoldWorld Hi Rob!! it's a true honor writing you. The trilogy Impossibility - Self Titled 2005 - Resurrection is (with the other 4 Chimaira records) in my collection with limited edtions, an official Power-Trip shirt and the Dehumanizing Process dvd. CHIMAIRA, the self titled is my favourite, lt has its own unique style and the general brutality of the record after the Impossibility incredible success reminds of The Great Southern Trendkill after Far Beyond Driven!!
I could listen to y'all share stories of Chimaira all day. Hopefully this wont be the last time Mark and Rob do this sort of video. I tour/new material of some sort would be amazing
I love mark.you two didn't get along 10 years ago,and for quite a few there... but you've both grown and it's been cool to see. The deterioration of chimaira for us fans that care alot, was like watching extended family fall aoart.i remember reaching out to Mark many years ago asking if he had talked to you and I encouraged him to let the shit go and let some time go by than reconvene later. So I'm glad it's happened. I want to see Matt on here whenever he comes back home. Also hope to see chrus too at some point. And I hope andoks is doing better he seems like he's really in a really defeated dark lost lonely and hopeless kind of place
Yeah those guys rule! That Iron Strengthens Iron tune caught my attention big time a few years back. Then I heard Chris Adler started managing them, and everyone expected big things! But, I haven't heard a peep since, and it seems like they've fallen off the face of the earth! Bummer!
I remember seeing you guys at Club Laga in Pittsburgh. First time I saw the metal Moses and coincidentally it was the final show for that particular club.
This was very interesting and lots of great Questions Rob. Sorry that I didn't leave you one of my own. Might think of a Question if and when you do another EYL. I would like to answer one of the Questions that came up in this episode about having an opening band/bands or an evening with. One band came to mind "Six feet under" your Era with the band. But I'd love to see an evening with a two and half set of deep cuts or songs that never got played live. So many great stories again from "Pass out" and Mark's side projects. Plus and this made me laugh "Notes don't matter" That was so funny and the look on Jim's face was priceless. While I was watching this a found myself focused on the 8 String and what the tuning would be for the guitar. Which showed to be GBEADGBE. Man that's one heavy tune. Oh and me finding a photo of a 9 strings which I sent to you on Facebook. So just to finish off. Mark's looking really well and so nice to see him again. Tell Mark when you hear from him again that I said Hello. Anyways Rob many many thanks for another EYL. Hope to see another pretty soon. Take care and be safe.
Cleveland gon’ give it to ya. Love you guys, since I was a teenager catching you fellas on “pass out of existence” I got a lot from those days, and that band.... Metal is rebellion, with no shame, and no judgement..only one ethos. “I WILL CRAWL ON BROKEN KNEES”! Thanks fellas🤘🏼
Rob my man, I know you get people telling you, And mark this all the time harping on all this, but i just gotta say how much chimaira means to me brother! Love you guys, and yalls music, and the lyrics specifically kicks my ass everytime. I was listening to Lazarus for 2 days straight over the weekend, and I just gotta say that the songs lyrical concept hits home with me on a personal matter everytime I listen to it (btw loved the video playthrough. Literally watched it like 100 times lol) Seriously wished I could've seen yall live, but By the time I started attending shows on a daily basis chimaira was already disbanded... 😔 Anyway, Keep up the good work with the vids dude, and hopefully one of these I will be blessed to hear the news yall reunite, do a tour, and possibly make new a new album as well! Fingers crossed for this 🤞
An evening with chimaira...godamn thatd be great. Maybe 3, 1 hour sets over like 5 hours. Youd be able to play a big majority of your body of work... one day I hope. Reallyy
Love these vids learn so much about the band and guitar tech tips… great managed get it fixed too sounds sick! Shoutout for the battery lick test 🤘🏻🤘🏻😂 keep the vids coming!
Thank you so much Rob for this. I love you. And Its amazing watching you guys together in a room, like a lot of comments... I agree, we miss you! With only one new song we will die!!!!! Haha 🤘💜💜💜💜.
That was an awesome show man. Has to be my favorite so far. And thanks for answering my question, the answer was more than satisfying. Actually gave me a lot to think about. Was pretty sick the last few weeks, so still trying to recover a bit, but so glad I finally got the energy to get up and really listen. Tons of good stuff. Definitely my favorite EYL to date. You guys are the best 🤘
Glad to hear that you were able to figure out the issue, do you happen to have footage of you figuring it out? Would enjoy seeing a diagnosis video and how you solved the problem!
So I watched this video on a whim, just as a place to start. 👉 ruclips.net/video/iEK81nHaxoY/видео.html My toggle switch is a 3-way blade style, but it helped me figure out that I was having a contact issue, which I fixed based on the same principles discussed in the video. I discovered that when the switch was in the bridge position, a couple components weren't making solid contact with one another. And so I simply bent one of the little metal tabs in with a small screw driver. Worked perfectly! 🎸
Oh yeah really cool Rob! I don’t know man I’m thinking both on guitars might sound better than those things that go through the body the guitar take guitars.
Finally got around to catching up on this! Always love hearing Marks thoughts and both of your reminiscing. Out of curiosity what the little Peavey amp behind Mark on his right? It kind looks like my rage 158
That exactly what it is! My first amp was a Peavey Rage 108, which I still have siting here next to me, and then I acquired that Peavey Rage 158 somewhere along the line many years ago!
@@RobArnoldWorld that's awesome!! Did you ever use it or is it just for show? Personally I found it only good for roughly seeing how ideas sounded. Mine doesn't seem to like taking pedals very well either it's just lives out of sight now
@@RobArnoldWorld I can't imagine you using something that small for a sound so big. We all have to start somewhere though! I'm absolutely loving the varied content on you channel though dude, please keep it up!
My two dudes Rob and Mark from Chimaira. Miss y'all so much when I first heard y'all when blasting your song Army of me on soundtrack Freddy vs Jason 🤘😊
Only time I got to see Chimaira was sounds of the underground tour at Waverly Hills Sanitarium (supposedly one of the most haunted places on Earth), in Louisville, Ky. So many good bands. It was my sister's first concert and she still loves Chimaira to this day. You guys killed it. I distinctly remember how crushing Needle was live. 🤘🏼
@@stevegoodwin1220 Dude, yes! MS is one of my all-time favorite bands! They are incredible and they deserve far more popularity and credit for they've brought to the Metalcore scene!
If Chimaira reunited, Evening With would be AMAZING. As a Machine Head fan, I absolutely loved the Evening With format - meant I got to see so much stuff that I wouldn't have seen live otherwise. Just a shame Robb drove the band till the wheels fell of and they became "Robb Flynn and the Machine Heads" rather than an actual band.
Love the episode! Always watching all your content with utmost urgency. Just wanted to ask, is it possible to do an episode with Austin? Because I thought it would be so amazing with his personality and counting his work with Chimaira, The Elite and Bleed The Sky. Keep up the great work man! 🤘😁
@@RobArnoldWorld Nice! Looking forward to it and maybe make an update video on electronics/sound demo later? 😎 I think people would love it, as some sort of conclusion of sorts..
@@metalheadofmordor9169 I did end up jamming out some riffs at the end of the video! Check it out! And I plan on doing a follow up video explaining what the issue was!🤘
Definitely “an evening with Chimaira” tour. God that would be amazing!!! Saw Machine Head do it 3 times, the last being the BME anniversary tour. That format is absolutely killer. Especially for your fans because we crave it so much.
@@RobArnoldWorld When u guys were wrapping up and throwing picks and such out into the crowd, one came close by but I didn’t catch it. I surveyed the floor to see if I could spot it but had no luck. Afterwards I reached into my pocket to get something and to my amazement there was a Chimaira Xmas pick in there. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Needless to say it’s a prized possession.
Funny ya mention insurance as I was crushed into the front barricade by the crowd at an Earth Crisis show in 98 & got my ribs crushed & spine cracked. I was front row & the pit's momentum pushed the few rows of people between me & the pit right into the people in the front row. I haven't had a real life since & 20+ years later I finally got an MRI & the 'experts' finally admit there's something actually wrong & not depression.
I thought the tour package of Chimaira, Six Feet Under, 3 Inches Of Blood and All That Remains, was a killer one. I was there for what I believe, was the first show of the tour, in Nashville in '05. It was at the Exit In.

magic. I always loved and knew the truth: Chimaira was and is MIIIIIIILES ahead LambOfGod, KillswitchEngage, Shadows Fall, DevilDriver, Mastodon and all the other contemporaries...thank you for ALL. Alessandro

@@alexanderd.driftwoodoffici2128 Awesome! I'll take it!🤘
I share the same birthday as those pickups and one day after Mark's. Nice!
I could listen to y'all share stories of Chimaira all day. Hopefully this wont be the last time Mark and Rob do this sort of video. I tour/new material of some sort would be amazing
please put back in trash can all diffrences and get band together again, we all need you guys back
I'm loving these videos. You guys are huge inspirations.
I'd love to see a Chimaira tour with Dyscarnate opening. Those dudes remind me a lot of Chimaira. Slick grooves \m/
Yeah those guys rule! That Iron Strengthens Iron tune caught my attention big time a few years back. Then I heard Chris Adler started managing them, and everyone expected big things! But, I haven't heard a peep since, and it seems like they've fallen off the face of the earth! Bummer!
@@RobArnoldWorld yea- absolutely. Can you ask Chris about it? Mark Morton as a link? Dyscarnate RULES.
@@aaronhull41 Na I can't ask him about it, unless an opportunity arises, but in the meantime I'll eagerly await any news!
I remember seeing you guys at Club Laga in Pittsburgh. First time I saw the metal Moses and coincidentally it was the final show for that particular club.
I remember Club Laga well!
Cool Darren! Glad you dug it man, and I'll let Mark know you said hey!🤘
@@RobArnoldWorld Thank you Rob. Your one cool dude.

Cleveland gon’ give it to ya. Love you guys, since I was a teenager catching you fellas on “pass out of existence”
I got a lot from those days, and that band....
Metal is rebellion, with no shame, and no judgement..only one ethos. “I WILL CRAWL ON BROKEN KNEES”!
Thanks fellas🤘🏼
You said nintendo music....ruclips.net/video/R8Gt4tOUd-g/видео.html these dudes rock
Literally watched it like 100 times lol)
Seriously wished I could've seen yall live, but By the time I started attending shows on a daily basis chimaira was already disbanded... 😔
Anyway, Keep up the good work with the vids dude, and hopefully one of these I will be blessed to hear the news yall reunite, do a tour, and possibly make new a new album as well! Fingers crossed for this 🤞
Awesome my man👊 I hope we can get things together and rock the stage in your town one day.🤘

I still love openers. Some of my favorite bands today I found out about because they opened for someone else.
Right on!
Awesome
Hell yeah 🤙🏼

An evening with chimaira...godamn thatd be great. Maybe 3, 1 hour sets over like 5 hours. Youd be able to play a big majority of your body of work... one day I hope. Reallyy
Joining your Patreon cuz I want you lads to play Six live on RUclips.

Mark's last words were pure wisdom hahaha got Rob demonetized to close the show! Great episode, lots of fun!
Been a little behind on RUclips videos but this one is gonna get watched later 👍👍😎

Awesome brother! So glad to hear that and I hope you're heading towards a full recovery!🤘
Awesome chat!!
Glad to hear that you were able to figure out the issue, do you happen to have footage of you figuring it out? Would enjoy seeing a diagnosis video and how you solved the problem!
So I watched this video on a whim, just as a place to start. 👉 ruclips.net/video/iEK81nHaxoY/видео.html
My toggle switch is a 3-way blade style, but it helped me figure out that I was having a contact issue, which I fixed based on the same principles discussed in the video. I discovered that when the switch was in the bridge position, a couple components weren't making solid contact with one another. And so I simply bent one of the little metal tabs in with a small screw driver. Worked perfectly! 🎸
Great discussion with great questions.
Oh yeah really cool Rob! I don’t know man I’m thinking both on guitars might sound better than those things that go through the body the guitar take guitars.
Shut up
You guys should do an uncensored/raw segment together and talk about crazy tour stories! I'm sure you guys would have a lot to tell lol
Mine doesn't seem to like taking pedals very well either it's just lives out of sight now
@@Scotty_dont Well they're not my go-to amps or anything, but they're perfect for whenever you need a little practice amp!
@@RobArnoldWorld I can't imagine you using something that small for a sound so big. We all have to start somewhere though! I'm absolutely loving the varied content on you channel though dude, please keep it up!
@@Scotty_dont Awesome Scott! I appreciate you tuning in man!👊
I already ordered my new Pass Out of Existence vinyls... now I need to see if I still have my autographed CD from the tour.
Always such a nostalgic trip listening to you guys because it also brings my fiancée and I back to those old days 💯
Yes we do comment on every post
My two dudes Rob and Mark from Chimaira. Miss y'all so much when I first heard y'all when blasting your song Army of me on soundtrack Freddy vs Jason 🤘😊
Broke out the Zen greens and went with the neon laces 👍🤘 once again great convo guys!
Bad friggin ass!!! Thank you so much!
Great episode!
I was glad to see that the guitar got fixed in the very end but what was wrong with the pick up?
Thanks! It ended up being the toggle switch!
Nice! I do remember that being a shady venue!🤘
Evening whiff would be sick! But if I could choose dry kill logic would open, rivers of nihil, then chimaira. I think that'd be sick!
Dude miss you guys so much chimaira was literally my shit riding the school bus when I was young lol
Loved this! 🤘❤️
I'm dying from terminal cancer and the only wish I have is new Chimaira!! Just kidding but that would be a hell of a last wish.
I love this format. Would love to hear from the others too! Either way good job @Rob
I'd love to see a Chimaira, Darkest Hour, Unearth & Misery Signals tour!
Ultraviolet is so fucking good! Love MS
Just a shame Robb drove the band till the wheels fell of and they became "Robb Flynn and the Machine Heads" rather than an actual band.
this was great! Thanks Throb for great content... Metal Moses is awesome!
You’re a great host, you should invite other metal / hard core / rock legends for an Interview, it would be great!!!
Thank you my man🙏

Definitely “an evening with Chimaira” tour. God that would be amazing!!! Saw Machine Head do it 3 times, the last being the BME anniversary tour. That format is absolutely killer. Especially for your fans because we crave it so much.
Right on! I saw that MH BME tour too, and it ruled! I'd be all about an evening with!
@@RobArnoldWorld You guys would destroy it. The reunion show will always be one of the highlights of my life. “The Tale of the Mystery Pick”.
@@tonywright4758 Mystery Pick?
@@RobArnoldWorld When u guys were wrapping up and throwing picks and such out into the crowd, one came close by but I didn’t catch it. I surveyed the floor to see if I could spot it but had no luck. Afterwards I reached into my pocket to get something and to my amazement there was a Chimaira Xmas pick in there. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Needless to say it’s a prized possession.
@@tonywright4758 Haha that's rad! It was meant to be!
Chimaira + Machine Head, Decapitated and Crowbar tour. Do it! Vogg's is in two bands so there's one bunk left on the nightliner :D
Damn bro that sucks!
*DA BOYS*
Chimaira was always great live. 👍
I thought the tour package of Chimaira, Six Feet Under, 3 Inches Of Blood and All That Remains, was a killer one. I was there for what I believe, was the first show of the tour, in Nashville in '05. It was at the Exit In.
Loved that tour!
