    Hakeem posted a 39.0 PER in the 1988 playoffs. There is not a higher PER ever in any playoff look it up I am not kidding. Lebron had a 37.4 PER in 09, and Jordan had I think a 32.1 in 91, Kareem had a 32.4 in 74 or 77 can’t remember.
    Basically statistical all around and accounted for pace (what PER does) Hakeem 88 was the GOAT peak in the playoffs.

      Ernesto Hendrix the 80s are known for their high pace and lack of defense. You think the nbas highscoring rn? Look at boxscores from back then especially for the Denver Nuggets. Scores regularly went over 130-140

    • @sohaminyoh
      @sohaminyoh 7 лет назад

      Syed Abood high pace and lack of defense *in the west. Larry bird described the offensive styles to differ by coasts. western teams were characterized by a "run and gun" offense while the eastern teams were characterized by a "grind it out" offense. The Lakers were obviously the epitome of the run and gun team. You would be mistaken if you don't think that they were able to change their pace and play an elite level of defense though. If you don't believe me, watch game 4 of the 1987 Finals where they had to play against the Celtics' big three (all relentless scorers in the post)

      Mondern NBA plays soft small ball.
      Remember when only the Europeans big would shoot threes and Team USA Bigs would bruise them in the post with ease but the world leader in basketball loss the 2004 Summer Olympic. oddly enough since 1957 the nba mvp has been won by a 6' 3" player or shorter 7 times. 5 of them were after 2004 which was coincidentally Lebrons rookie season. plus lebron has never played a full season (MJ-9x) or play without a big 3 since 2010 and yet he crys about wanting to play less games and wanting more help. Lebron (the best of this era)
      Why do they flop when the game is smaller and more efficient than ever and opens the door for countless of records to be broken. i wouldnt mind the change if players didnt play lawyerball flop and care more about their pregame dances and postgame attires. and act like they are the greatest but refuse to admit that they play in a soft era That calls for "crackdown" on yelling and the natural physicality of the game.
      welcome to the era of inflated stat
