Thats the reason why our law is is being abused. What’s 30,000 pesos, I can even earn it in a day or loan it in gcash or maya app in just one click. The reason why many corrupt politicians, leaders, existence of drug addicts and so many more crimes are no fear of doing or violating our law. For me it should be ammended, make those abused laws non bailable once proven with absolute improsonment based on committed crimes. If i will propose ammendments, this is what im going to prioritize. Since self discipline is hard to find in PH, law must be harsh for everyone equally.
I feel for Dr. Lorraine Badoy's emotional outburst at the judge's decision not to declare the CPP-NPA-NDF as a terrorist group. A group that has been responsible for the death of countless civilians and military lives in the last 50 years or so, and the senseless death of many misguided, and misinformed students who themselves gave their lives for a cause they didn't really understood. To ask if 30K is a "not enough fine" for Dr Lorraine's "transgression" is an attitude of arrogance to those who think they are better than those who decided the threshold of the punishment. Countries that listed the CPP-NPA-NDF as a terrorist organizations are the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Perhaps this particular judge who decided not to declare the CPP-NPA-NDF as a terrorist group is a much smarter individual than any of these countries put together. And I agree with Atty Domingo on the precedential value of the decision showing the parameter and a guideline or guidepost in case a similar situation may occur in the future that in my opinion is a major screw-up decision on the part of a judge with regard to a very delicate matter as such and is now regarded a landmark decision by Atty Domingo. No wonder those who supports or are members of the CPP-NPA-NDF are emboldened by the decision. Who can point an accusing finger now at them and say they are Maoists, or Marxists or Communists? And what are the CPP-NPA-NDF if they are not a terrorist group? "Heroes of old?"
There is now by way of this Supreme Court ruling against Badoy because this came about when she made threats and disparaging comments against the lower court judge in 2022.
