Instead of maybe running across a full 5 that runs zone (like in the rec) you will definitely come across a full 5 running a zone.
@@chrishansen8119 I run into full 5’s in rec all the time. I play both and there’s days where I run into more competition in the rec than I do in proam and vice versa it all depends on the time of day.

It really depends on the match ups. Lets say they have 5 shooters all on the wing and they keep scoring off of layups and pass outs. Then makes sense to me to play zone. But if they only got 4 shooters no need

Zones are weird in rec , I be playing with people that aren’t the best yet we still smoke em and they refuse to leave their zone . Literally be winning by 40 but I just don’t always like having to play the way I have to when they play zone . It’s just crazy to me that people use that zone like it’s a bible even if they getting smoked

When I run squad rec, we play man. Bc we all like to strap our matchup. What be crazy is teams will run a 2-3, but when u switch from man and run a 2-3 back against them they don’t know how to score against it. How you run a defense you urself can’t score against lol

2-3 zone doesn’t “bail out” bad players. That’s ignorant.. 2-3 requires HIGH IQ players and great communication. Then it’s a success, and quite overpowered. But if a bunch of random noobs or low IQ players try 2-3 zone, obviously they will get EXPOSED and scoring would be EASIER for the opponent. There’s always someone open in the 2-3 zone. It’s extremely easy to score against the 2-3 zone, unless you’re missing all the shots and making the wrong pass
People should not have to hop into rec and play a 2-3 full 5 when they just wanna play Rec with 1 or 2 of their boys. Thats a new thing that is happening this year and at a high rate and its weird. I understand if its a 5v5 but to do it as a full 5 to a team of randoms that has no chemistry n probably ain’t even talking is weird. Requires high iq which means for 20 mins u working ya brain tryna dissect a defense instead of just enjoying a basketball game with ya boys. Maybe u feel dif but 2 hours of that straight sounds tiring n thats why people dont enjoy rec. 2k made it like this tho n regardless whenever I beat 2-3 zone full 5 with randoms i just laugh at the xbox/psn names that lose cuz thats embarrassing…
i think it's wild to load into rec and run a 2-3 because you're too weak to play man to man....the zone does have its weaknesses and can be beaten but what are the odds people understand how to actually hoop like that, (not high in 2k)

2-3 zone should be for the sweats in pro-am.
Ppl don’t zone it in pro am tho, not to the extent where the C sits paint bc it’s to easy to beat, but pg and c are corners. sg guards sg/hash, lock guards the other pg and the PF normally a Backend build will help the lock on screens and play cuts and rotations will be called for the Center to go get the board, 2-3 is for rec bums, the only zone that takes skill is 3-2, and only that’s for use against 5 out normally

That's at least what we do, probably why u see it a lot in Rec.
There are teams that are really bad however, just have a friend group of 5, and they usually play only rec to smash randoms. I agree that that's disgusting.
Zone is easy to brake u don't see it in comp a lot, but i guess it's good against randoms.

They ruin the casual aspect of the game like bro first possession y’all bust out zone? Then when you see how they run half court offense they look like they have no thumbs.
