Thank you Tash for being respectful and trying to learn what this man meant to Canada. Strangely enough he's the fourth Canadian legend named Gordon to pass in recent years. Gordie Howe in 2016, Gord Downey in 2017, Gordon Pincent earlier this year and now Gordon Lightfoot. All national treasures in their respective fields.
Thank you for this Tash. Take your time exploring his music and check out every cut from every album. You won't find a bad song, and so many of them will touch your heart because the feelings are not just Canadian, they are universal. I was lucky enough to meet him and he was everything they said he was. Some of his best songs are the ones the radio never plays. He was the soundtrack of my life.
The tears flow very easily when thinking of Gordon Lightfoot and all the wonderful music he created, whether it was recorded by him or by other artists. Thank you for treating him and his memory with the respect he so richly deserves.
I understand Canada's top musicians are organizing a tribute concert. Those involved are probably Burton Cummings, Murray McLaughlin, Anne Murray, Randy Bachman, etc. Venue will probably be Massey Hall in Toronto. It will be a once in a lifetime event.
Thanks for covering this. We drove 3 hours to say goodbye, there was so much love in that church for Canada's troubadour. We then laid a bouquet at that fantastic "Golden Leaves" statue. If you google it its a beautiful tribute to Gord.
We saw him perform ten years ago almost to the day at Casino Niagara. His voice wasn’t what it used to be but it didn’t matter, we were still glad to see him perform.
Thank you so much for your very respectful remembrance of Canada’s troubadour Gordon Lightfoot. Thankfully, we have a treasure trove of beautiful music he left us. R.I.P. Gordon. All of Canada will miss you. 💔
How can you watch that and not get tears in your eyes, thank you so much tash for sending your love on behalf of your beautiful country.we all will miss Gordon lightfoot.
His music will always be a reminder for all Canadiens, you will be missed as I live so close to orillia you hold a special place in my heart.rest in peace Mr lightfoot.
He is indeed a national treasure and watching this video again has got me all teared up. Although I knew of him earlier, If You Could Read My Mind was when I really took notice in around 1970. I immediately started buying his records and I must say that his early 'United Artists' albums are IMO his best. Not to take away from his early recordings on the Reprise label, the first several of these were just awesome too. I can't say enough properly about the man and his music so I'll just leave it to your sound judgment to be amazed.
God bless Gordon! I’m so surprised by how much his passing has effected me! My first guitar hero! Tash - check out the Canadian band Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. You’ll love them! Then check out the pedigrees of the three main members. I’ve played gigs with two of them. They formed to play the music of another great Canadian musician, Willie P Bennett, another life long friend! Peace
Rest in peace, Gordon 🙏 You're up there with Hank Snow, Gordon Downie, Dallas Good, Wilf Carter, Dick Nolan, Stan Rogers, Leonard Cohen, Dorothy Colins, Bobby Curtola, Neal Peart, Oscar Peterson and all the other great musicians from this country who are no longer with us

Beautiful ❤🇨🇦✌
CBC DOC called "If You Could Read My Mind" so worth watching
A big thanks to you Tash for this beautiful tribute. You got me choking back some emotions here. God bless you
If someone from the other side of the planet wishes to honour a great Canadian, it’s difficult to think of one more deserving.
My favourite song of his is “The Canadian Railroad Trilogy”, a masterful piece he wrote for Canada’s Centennial in 1967.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I hadn't seen it before.
Thanks for the tribute to our national troubadour!
Rest in peace, Gordon 🙏

Hi, Aussie Tash: It is nice that you are checking out Gordon's music. Would you please listen to my favourite since 1970, 'The Last Time I Saw Her'?
