Blanche Leontyne Carter Thrash - Worship Service & Interment (Highlights)

On Saturday, September 2, 2023, the funeral service for Ms. Blanche Leontyne Carter Thrash, age 79, was held at 12 noon at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
The worship service reflected a life well lived and blessed. Family and friends shared stories of how Blanche made the most of a full life of faith and love. The service was held in the Horizon Sanctuary.
The full 2.5 hour funeral consisted of a powerful rendition of “Blessed Assurance” by her daughter, Dr. Shalewa Thrash, accompanied by the Celebration Choir and directed by Dr. James Abbington.
Mr. Alhadji Thrash, son of Blanche, brought a touch of joy by sharing in his tribute stories of how she was always thinking of her children and others. Al also shared that he knew he would see his mom again as a believer in Christ Jesus.
The scriptures, music, tributes, prayers, litany, and eulogy summed up a life well lived on this side of heaven.
The interment took place at South-View Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Olivia Maxwell of Ebenezer officiated the worship service and the interment.
