I’m so happy to hear you also had an amazing time as a vegan as well! I agree the bean pupusas were so good I never thought I would enjoy them that much 😆
Thanks for showing the goodies we have in our lovely country El Salvador 🇸🇻🙏 Dios te bendiga mucho por promoveer lo mas delicioso de nuestro pulgarcito de Centroamerica!! All people are welcome to enjoy El Salvador 🇸🇻
Vegan pupusas 🫓 are not just beans 😅 you could also have Loroco (a flower) Papelillo ( a type of leaf) Cochinito (its a plant) Ayote (vegetable) Chipilin (a plant) Mora ( a plant) Carrots Jalapeño Try them next time 😉😍
I was only able to get beans and loroco at one place because most places had the loroco already mixed with the cheese. I was able to get frijole con ayote and mora at another place but I didn’t film there
Felicidades está muy bonito el video; gracias por compartir todas nuestras delicias culinarias veganas de nuestro Pais El Salvador y algunos lugares turisticos.
I am half El Salvadorian and really miss pupusas. I hope I can go back to visit El Salvador soon. I haven't been there since I was a kid. Glad to see there are so many amazing vegan options there because El Salvadorian food is so good but I am a vegan. The beans served at regular pupusa restaurants don't have lard in them?
Yess! I hope you get to visit soon. So for the beans I also had the same question which is why I made sure to ask all the restaurants if they had lard. Everyone I spoke to said no they use oil. And according to my aunts most people use oil now because it’s cheaper. but it’s always best to ask just in case
What about lard in the beans at those pupusa places? I was told that all the places that have refried beans were using lard in them and only to choose boiled beans.
I'd love to try those vegan pupusa in El Salvador 🇸🇻 I am vegetarian, not vegan. I was vegan for 17 years, though !! I've been vegetarian for 15 years !! I am planning to visit El Salvador with mom in the near future !!! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇸🇻💞
Hello Eunice!! Thank you for this video going to El Salvador in June. Added some restaurants to my list to try. Thanks to your video!!! Where are you from??
the driving is wild! haha I used Uber a lot. It was very inexpensive like average $3 and it tracks on maps ..taxis have the option to take you wherever lol but i didn't have any bad experiences with taxis but we only chose taxis from trusted references.
You should also ask them if they use cheese in the nuegados because some people add it when making thé masa. Sometimes you can barely taste it, so just ask to be on the safe side. I don't know if you went there but in surf city there's also à 100% vegan restaurant called Kombucha. There are some others that offer vegan options as well. Lastly, Arigato it's a japanese tea house not à coffe shop. It's a separate business from Soyanutribar, but you can order from both and they do have vegan options and everything they sell is imported from japan from the onigiri's rice to the assortment of teas and infusion they offer.
@@ratedvfood interesting did not know that. I'll look into it more thanks. BTW all the vegan foods in this episode looked yummy! Didn't know many of these foods were vegan. Especially the sweet corn tortilla looking one. Looks so good
I am Salvadorian I can say with 100% that I've never in my life had one single meal without some kind of meat or dairy even lean days a bowl of rice and beans had crema , cheese and with some tortillas I do not think it possible to be vegan here unless you are fine with beans rice daily with tortillas but no crema or cheese which sounds like a prison meal to me everything else is pure meat and cheese and fish and our belts are 100% leather
Lol Honestly eating Salvadoran beans every day is something I would happily do! THEY WERE SOO GOOD! 🤩 Btw I do feel you on the crema which is why I make my own vegan version with the breakfast..but in case you didn't actually watch the video..I found a lot of great things to eat :) ... ruclips.net/video/87koeuzaDk4/видео.htmlsi=cuSFEtWWppyjeUX-
En serio? Corn is rich in vitamin C, Vitamin A and Potassium. Yellow corn is a good source of the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, which are good for eye health.
@@michelegangaware5250 YES! THANK YOU so much for responding to this comment..I had to hold back when I first read it because I just couldn't deal with it lol.

What about lard in the beans at those pupusa places? I was told that all the places that have refried beans were using lard in them and only to choose boiled beans.
I always asked no one uses lard that I spoke to and my aunts said that’s not really done anymore everyone I talked to said they used oil
@@ratedvfood Ahh, that place in El Tunco did but they subbed out boiled beans for us.
@@happycow oh wow that’s a bummer I didn’t go to that one but I made sure to ask everyone .

I want to go now! How do you recommend people get around? Like rent a car or use taxis?
the driving is wild! haha I used Uber a lot. It was very inexpensive like average $3 and it tracks on maps ..taxis have the option to take you wherever lol but i didn't have any bad experiences with taxis but we only chose taxis from trusted references.
I recommend you potatoes 🥔 pupusas 🫓 de maíz and ayote ( sukini) pupusas if you don’t like beans 🫘
Can you do Colombia next? :))

Yeah we asked that too about the nuegados
KOMBUCHA VEGAN RESTAURANT IN MY COUNTRY OMG
Wait so you had the passion fruit cheesecake with honey at the end?? Doesn't that make it not vegan? Lol. Or could you ask for it without honey?
Some vegans eat honey it’s controversial for some but I still consider myself vegan you can’t ask without honey

Entire civilisations have been built by people that ate primarily corn.
