- A final classic John Bird and John Fortune "Long Johns", John Bird is George Parr, a merchant banker in the city, "from a long line of bankers". This is from 1997, sorry about the VHS-induced quality!
I keep watching this flip over and over... The body language and Fortune's eyes!
Success should be rewarded and failure should be compensated , Wonderful ! :-)
THEY WERE SO ACCURATE IN THEIR OBSERVATIONS AND VITRIOLIC IN THEIR CRITICISMS, YOU COULD NAME THE BUGGER'S THEY WERE AIMING AT. SO SADLY MISSED, THEY WILL NEVER BE EQUALLED, LET ALONE BEATEN. EVEN RORY BREMNER CAN'T GET ON TV NOW. THE POWER'S THAT BE ,ARE SCARED OF SUCH POWER, JUST WHEN THE POLITICIANS OF TODAY, SO DESERVE BEING ATTACKED, BY THE LIKES OF THE TWO JOHNS---WHAT A GREAT PITY.
3:38 - "Monday morning and the alarm goes off and you think goodness....10 O'Clock already.." - sums up bankers lifestyle so easy.
@SEAN INGRAM I meant it is an easy lifestyle for them, the lucky bastards who have it. I personally have no head for numbers, I am happy as a civil servant,
@SEAN INGRAM I work a 40 hour week, some banks work a 40 hour month. Would you be insulted if I mocked your job Sean?
@SEAN INGRAM I don't go for it because I have moral constraints.
Fortune's face at 02:30 is why I watch these sketches.
Sheer genius!!!
Love to watch this again.
