As a cop active shooter means YOU HEAR ACTIVE GUNFIRE. If the police were outside the room THEY WERE HEARING THE GUNSHOTS. They should have entered the room. I worked as a trained armed security officer and the subject or subjects could have been neutralized by just sending 4 groups of 3 armed officers strategically positioned on all 4 sides of the building while they moved inside the building to reach the target area. I would have had 4 officers ready to go in and help the officers already inside, take the kids out to safety. The other 2 officers would have been outside giving a status report to the parents and one more officer would have been giving me reports on 9/11 calls to help me make any tactical changes to the operation.

This is the direct result of the supreme court ruling police have no duty to protect the public. Police are, in fact, trained to protect themselves first and foremost and that leads to innocent people being shot, usually by police, but in this case by someone else.
It sounded to me like they didn't know that there was an active shooter in the room, but it's hard to see how they could have not known. Couldn't they hear the gunshots?

I worked as a trained armed security officer and the subject or subjects could have been neutralized by just sending 4 groups of 3 armed officers strategically positioned on all 4 sides of the building while they moved inside the building to reach the target area. I would have had 4 officers ready to go in and help the officers already inside, take the kids out to safety. The other 2 officers would have been outside giving a status report to the parents and one more officer would have been giving me reports on 9/11 calls to help me make any tactical changes to the operation.
They need to hold these officers accountable for the lives lost. They wanted to protect their own lives instead of risking their lives to save the children. HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!

How did they not hear shots and how did they not respond to the dispatch of continuous 911 calls from teachers and children within that class room. Really?

It started with allowing easy access to weapons. With "leaders" promoting that having weapons is the ultimate of democratic freedom.
The Officers just finished eating doughnuts and didn’t want to get a stomach ache by doing all that running around. So they all waited for the doughnuts to digest and formulate a lackluster plan.

I think the real reason is going to turn out to be that the people in command were paralyzed by panic. they were probably trying to deny the reality of the situation as it happened. most people have a strong reflexive reaction of denial to unexpected bad situations. when people are told that a relative has died, the first reaction is often that they try to argue that it can't be true. things like this feel unreal, there's a strong urge to doubt them. the cops were probably outside that school telling each other "we don't know that there are kids in the room".
