    I bought a 2019 Heritage 114 in June. I completely agree with your assessment of this bike. As others have said, you can’t get a better Harley Davidson for the money.

    Good review of the New Heritage. Was able to test ride the 2018 Heritage with the 107, and was immediately taken with how nimble and smooth the bike was compared to the 2007 Heritage I once owned. After that ride, I spoke with my local dealer and asked about the chances of getting a 114. He checked for me and said there was new one coming in.Was fortunate enough to pick up a new 115 Anniversary with the 114. Was good timing! Couldn’t be happier.

      Mines paid for and I could probably get 8-9k for it so that would bring a new bike down to about 10k hmm? Got me thinking now? Lol but actually the new heritage is very nice and if I were in the market and I might be soon its in my top 3 Harleys defiantly a contender

    The improvements on the new Softails are great, and the new Heritage comes with the best of all the improvements. The new motor, frame, suspension (much better than the lower suspension of the other new Softails), lean angle, removable bags and windshield, LEDs, etc. I would be shocked to find out the Heritage doesn't outsell the rest of the Softail lineup. Really cool bike!!

    I just bought the 2018 Heritage with the 114. Love it. It handles amazingly. I like the black and the little bit of chrome that's on the bike. Bought the bike on sale for 18,750 in Montgomery AL. Harley Davidson dealer.

    I bought one....love it. Went with a chrome engine guard and backrest/luggage rack to offset some of the black. I like the contrast between the two rather than a mountain of chrome and bling. Handling is amazing and the 107 pulls strong.

    Nice video I really enjoyed it. You mentioned the base price of this bike and the RoadKing was the same which it is. But security (395.00) & abs ($795.00) come standard on this bike plus shipping is $45.00 less. So if you compare apples to apples RK cost $1235.00 more.

      Also, the Heritage does not come standard with engine guard bars, linked Brembo breaks with dual front break rotors, six gallon fuel tank, hydraulic clutch, Hiawatha headlamp, cast aluminum wheels, one touch open hard saddle bags, lean angle or cruise control. Other than that they are similar bikes at a similar price.

    Thanks for taking us along for the ride, I have been wondering which bike I like the best the heritage or road king it's so close for me, I like the heritage because it's smaller but the roadking is better for two up. Your video has got me more interested in the heritage. Lot of good information, thanks.

  • @JohnnyRebKy
    @JohnnyRebKy 2 месяца назад

    I like the old heritage better. It’s more than just the looks change. The old ones are more comfortable and planted on the highway to me. The new ones corner better and are stiffer. For cruising in comfort and touring I think the old heritage is better. The new one felt smaller and more cramped to me. So I bought a 2016 heritage with 9k miles on it instead of a new 2024. I had the money to buy a new one but just didn’t like it much. The 2016 was perfect!

  • @MrBlack1272
    @MrBlack1272 6 лет назад

    Cool video! One thing I'm not sure if anyone commented on is the fact that actually, the Road King doesn't come Standard with ABS or security. by the time you get these, there'll be about a $1200 difference in price.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  6 лет назад +1

      While this is true in that regard in reality the security really is just a pass key sensor and ABS is more involved so it does make a small difference, but not really much of one to take note.

    I have a 2009 Heritage. The 2018 is certainly nice. But I wish HD had kept the Classic with the choice of blacked out or chrome versions. Both would sell tons....Chrome lovers are left wanting. HD rarely makes bad decisions but this is one imo.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 лет назад +1

      I do agree they needed the classic look as well. Or sell it as an exact cost option from the factory.

    • @JohnMcCagueSells
      @JohnMcCagueSells 5 лет назад +1

      @@RabidHedgehog I know I get stopped numerous times, each time I ride, and everyone comments on the style and look. There are 'knock offs' but no true classic looking bikes left. HD had a great thing in the Heritage and they removed the 'wow' factor. We all want great performing bikes but we all want to make statements...the last generation certainly seemed to do that....the new generation...not so much based on what I see and hear.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 лет назад +1

      I have my CB1100EX and it garners much attention as it is classic in its own right. There is a fine line though for HD as every bike they make with a couple of exceptions are classic looking. If the Heritage line was with the newer line it would have the nostalgic appeal. But with this one it just blends in a bit. I do like black out models, but some need to stand out still.

    The blacked out Heritage is equivalent to the RK Special so they are actually separated in price by about 3 grand. I am having a real hard time deciding between these 2 bikes. Technically the Heritage softail has a better suspension then the RK. I'm torn

  • @pinkiewerewolf
    @pinkiewerewolf 6 лет назад

    I had a 94 Heritage, never should have traded it for a 2000 RK. I'm sure that I'd still be on the Heritage but life happened and I had to sell the RK. Admittedly, the 94 Heritage wasn't fast but it hauled my butt all over the midwest... in style.
    If it were just me, I'd buy the Heritage with the 114 engine that my dealer has right now. I have to take my gal/passenger into consideration though. One other thing holding me back, the single disc up front. I had a metric cruiser that I boiled the brake fluid, loosing the brakes on twisty back roads in Humboldt County California. You say this brakes better than the dual disc Fat Bob? I'm surprised, I'd like to see them together in the mountains on a 100 degree F day. Although, if engine braking is improved that would help.
    I think the RK is gonna win out again but I'm digging the 17 Heritage.

    Thank you very much for the review! I’ve ordered 107 variant, and now I’m a bit nervous, because I’ve found in many reviews, that people say that 107 engine is very jerky against 114, and is not that smooth as 114. Can you agree with that? What do you think about the gas smoothness of 107 engine?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  5 лет назад

      @RabidHedgehog  4 года назад +1

      That really add a whole lot of nothing except sound. The minimal gains made here are not going to really be reflected in this machine. Also many HD riders and buyers add other accessories that add weight and such too. So using a baseline of the base bike and how it was made factory intended is good to know to see if someone mucked it up as well.

    #RabidHedgehog HI YA LONG TIME NO COMMENT ;)
    I CURRENTLY OWN THE FOLLOWING BIKES IN ORDER OF MY PURCHASING THEM:
    2016 Motto Guzzi V7II stone (bought used in 2016, had 500 miles)
    2015 Harley Super Low 1200T bought used in 2016 had 1000 miles)
    2020 KTM 790 Adventure S* bought brand new in Dec 2020 4 miles)
    2020 Harley Low Rider S (bought used August 2022 450 miles)
    That Heritag e Classic looks like a grown up Super Low 1200T, haha. It also looks like a Harley I want to buy next and last. One that could take me to Sturgis next year (2023). I live in the Washington D.C. area. Of course any of the bikes I currently own has the ability to take me there ;-). Well the MG V7II would not be that comfortable on such a long trip.
    But really I like of what I see of the Heritage Classic (w/the 114). But one of my bikes would have to go or at least be de-taged (insurance costs) if I were to seriously consider getting the HC. Every year I keep putting off Sturgis, Daytona, any such long trips, ect ... And I am not getting any younger by any measure.
    So many motorcycles and yet only so many dollars ...
    I wish it was 1969 when a gallon of gas was 35 cents and everything overall was so much cheaper and affordable ...
    Oh well ...
