This is the simplest, straight to the point, best instructional video I’ve found on home brewing. Not saying other home brewing videos aren’t great, it’s just that this one is such well structured.
I tried your mango beer recipe without HOPS. All procedure as you mentioned in the video but instead of HOPS, I used Coriander, Orange skin (thin outer skin taken out with potato peeler) and lemon grass in the following proportion. 1. I use all the recipes and quantities as per this video. 2. Roast 100 gram coriander 3. Take roasted coriander, around 10 orange peels (may be 50-70 gram) and 4 lemon grass. 4. Take 2 cheese clothes and wrap above spices in two portions and make one smaller and one bigger spice balls. (bigger one twice in size of smaller) 5. While boiling wort, put smaller spice ball from the start and bigger ball after 45 min of boiling. (Boil bigger spice ball for 15 min only) 6. Remove both balls from wort before putting it in fermentation. It came out pretty good. I recommend you to adjust spices as per your taste. Hope you will try this recipe in your channel. I really want to see your SPACTECULAR HELICOPTER hand gesture on this.

Excellent video, thank you! What is the purpose of the second fermenter? Why can we not leave it in the first fermenter until we are ready to bottle? Thank you!
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato you can use: Rosemary Chamomile Juniper berries Ginger Caraway seed Aniseed Coriander Orange peel As none of them are really as bitter as hops you should add them in bigger quantities and also together
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato I would say 6g per liter of beer for each herb/spice, although as they don't give the strongest flavour you can kind of mix and match. if you are not sure, look up gruit (pronounced: the same way as "fruit") beer, that is a type of beer made without hops and instead with herbs and spices. I also had another question if you don't mind, I would like to malt my own corn but I live in a rather cold country and it is still winter so how do I stop the germination as I can't put it out in the sun? and also can I just use standard popcorn or does it have to be a particular type? thank you in advance.
Hey where did you found that tap you use in the fermentation jug ? I like a lot your videos I’m currently doing the cured pork loin recipe. Keep going man ;)
Grazie per questo video. La famiglia di mia nonna molto tempo fa hanno fatto il vinsanto per la chiesa e mi piacerebbe farlo per provarlo. Mi piacerebbe che tu mi mostrassi come, per favore.
I wouldn't call this an IPA because it barely has any hops in it. I would just call it a mango ale. Also I would rather use some American hops instead of the fuggles because they would compliment the mango flavour better. I don't think you need to use a secondary fermentation, I would just leave it in the primary longer, and add the sugar straight to the bottling bucket, so you will have a more even carbonation. If I were you I would look into re-hydrating the yeast first because if you add dry yeast directly to wort it will pretty much kill half of the yeast immediately, because the yeast cells are weaker due to the drying process, and can't keep all the sugars out, which than will kill most of them. howtobrew.com/book/section-1/yeast/preparing-yeast-and-yeast-starters
hi! how much hops, which type and when would you add them to call this an ipa? im getting all the stuff to do this and would like it more like an ipa :) thanks!!!
Hi. Great video .. Will this recipe be the same for making a Mango Wheat Beer ?... Also what are your thoughts on adding the Mango only in the secondary Fermentor ..Cheers !!
The channel is awesome! So many good ideas!!! Just a question do you sanitize all your equipment or do you just wash it? Cause I struggle everytime with sanitization ^^
It can be a useful way to make the beer clearer (it’s called racking) but it’s not necessary and the negatives outweigh the positives, it’s common to disrupt and actually stop the fermentation when racking (don’t bother)
Can we put mango juice instead of cutting them? Another question please, how can we keep the heat at 67 degrees for an hour? The heat will continue to raise until boiling. Thanks.
Add more sugar. But 9 percent is the highest percentage that you want to go. After that you are killing the yeast with the alcohol. It is possible to get yeast that will go up to 14 % but the beer tends to taste funny
Hi Kavin, There are 2 Factors contribute to alchohol level in your beer. 1. Amount of fermentable sugars 2. Your yeasts ability to tolerate alcohol before becoming dormant. While you could add sugar however if you expose your beer yeast to glucose, it will not convert enough Maltose into beer. Its then better to have higher convertable sugars from grains, i.e you use more grains. Yeast- there are some yeast strains that can produce upto 18% abv and even consume both maltose and glucose..like the MJ M-30 or belgian tripel yeast. However, other strains like safale S -04 and S-05 can go upto 11% provided your wort has fermentable sugars and you pitch and ferment at the right temperature. If you make a big batch and you don't want to have grenades in your fridge you can pasteurise the beer while it is still in the bottles You can check it in youtube there's lot of videos

Dish soap won’t sanitize anything. The powder used to sanitize baby bottles might be a so-so substitute. I’ve also heard of people using isopropyl alcohol (75%) as a sanitizer. I don’t have experience, so you’ll need to google it. Failing that, Peracetic acid is what’s commonly used by breweries. Not sure it will be much easier to find, and of course you need to be very very careful with it! Research thoroughly before you use it.

I dont get it. Why did you take the mango out? The yeast would have had the opportunity to eat those sugars. I understand that the 60min boil surely did extract some juices out of the fruit but there should some still held in the mango. I this recipe is nice and i will try it next time i brew!
@@Spectacular-cuoredicioccolato or you could put in the fridge? 😊👍🏻 If you didn't have any fridge or basement, you could buried it in some spot where didn't get much sunlight (under a tree should be OK.. I’m surprised your beer isn’t oxidized, both your transfer to secondary and to bottles looks less than ideal. Get yourself a syphon and a bottling wand perhaps. Cheers!

Yes you can 👍🏼
You can add the mango in the second fermenter but after it will be more complicated the bottling process
I would've added the mango at the end of the fermentation.
Thanks for the advice 👍
Adding it after fermentation will be a high risk of infection, especially with the skins on
So is adding it at the beginning. You need to heat it to pasteurization temps.
I think adding it right at the end of the boil will be safe enough and keep as much of the flavour as possible.
Do you use Aluminium tumbler for mashing and boiling?

Use a balloon instead (I used this methods before I got any airlocks).
It could trapped gas from inside yet prevent outside air to get in.
