That's a neutral long jump, or a "charge boot lag jump" in my outdated terminology. I have another video on those in this same playlist (I would link but I'm currently on mobile).
ratchet keeps hyperstriking the whip when i do it, i managed to get it correctly a few times seemingly randomly, any reason why he is 'hyperstriking' the whip for me? im sure it's error on my part but im not quite sure what im getting wrong
hyperstrike happens when the game thinks you're in the air. You have to press circle sooner and/or hold L1 longer (L2 for lock strafe mode) The scope+shoot buttons together the frame after charge boot ends make the game think you're on the ground, so you do the normal swing
If that happens then you're probably not pressing Circle soon enough, or you're not holding forward. Make sure you really start mashing Circle right away.
Cheers. I've been spending a lot of time with my PS2 lately and have been having a good time glitch hunting and stuff.
Thank you so much for posting this!
Mtg Loeg No problem, glad it helped someone! I really need to make videos on some of the other specific tricks...
this is pretty badass thanks
How do you do that move @ 2:38 - 2:40 ?

it throws the whip instead of using it normally
