So, they catch a rat, cut it's tail, set it free to catch again when it's tail grow back. People even started rearing rats for the bounty.

You couldn't imagine the number of bacteria and viruses humans have avoided thanks to antibiotics. The problem is when it's being abused, ie: when taken/prescribed unnecessarily. We can't be extremes and just tell people what NOT to eat especially when eating meat is NOT the main problem. It's the producers/farms that we should be more concerned about.
