    Developments in microbiology, medicine, and sanitation have been instrumental in the prevention of future plague pandemics. In what other ways do you think these same advancements benefit us today?

      Too much sanitation in Vietnam by french when it was France's colony, led to plague outbreak. French authorities paid people for killing rats. They need to submit tail of rat to earn the bounty. So, they catch a rat, cut it's tail, set it free to catch again when it's tail grow back. People even started rearing rats for the bounty.

    A minor outbreak of a plague like disease occurred in Surat, Gujarat, in the western part of India in 1994. However, it did not spread beyond Gujarat province. It was pneumonic type and not bubonic, the classic plague associated with outbreaks. I may be one of the few people alive who has seen an actual case of plague, as I was a post graduate medical student at that time, and cared for a patient.

    • @h.y.4371
      @h.y.4371 6 лет назад +3

      VeroMithril No, quite the contrary. Assuming you meant "meat", the keyword you're looking for is "abuse". Antibiotics does wonders. You couldn't imagine the number of bacteria and viruses humans have avoided thanks to antibiotics. The problem is when it's being abused, ie: when taken/prescribed unnecessarily. We can't be extremes and just tell people what NOT to eat especially when eating meat is NOT the main problem. It's the producers/farms that we should be more concerned about. Also, do not be conceited that superbugs are just in meat. They can be transmitted via veges and fruits too. Still think I'm trolling?
