Brosnan a life saver for cellist everywhere
No cap that is one of the nicest sounding cellos
Thank you. I love this cello!
What cello is that?
I think the player may have something to do with it to :)
No cap -🤓
I know right
Beautiful! I played this in a recital accompanied by my cello teacher waaaaaay back in 1970. I'm back scratching the strings after a 50 year absence. YOUR playing helps me understand how this piece should sound. Okay . . . back to practice! :)
😂your very funny
It's great he's still seeing comments even though this video was posted 2 years ago. Best Cello channel and my go to on RUclips. Keep up the great vids.
Will do. Thank you!🎻
hope he still does in 2021 (this year)
:)
It was so helpful to hear the trills and rhythms as a student, and your videos are always professional and well practiced! Thank you!
Thank you! Best of luck and Happy New Year!
Oh my goodness I need it too!
I did a audition on this piece! And with your help I got the highest level in orchestra 😇😇
Congratulations 🎉

The slow and regular versions are very useful in learning and understanding this piece for an older new cello student. Thank you!
I am so happy you find it helpful!
I agree... I am such a student ;-) moreover, I do the Dotzauer and the Marderovsky methods, so I just discovered Breval... beautiful music! and I would seem reachable for my level. Thanks for sharing!!!
I have to do the same
mh-hm
It's been literally over a decade since I played this piece, but my fingers still remember every fingering
That link in the description, it was one the best cello videos I’ve ever seen😊🎉
Me listening to this like 👁💧👄💧👁
This was my audition piece for the top orchestra at my high school last year and I listened to this all the time to learn it! Hearing everything played nicely helped so much. I did make it through my audition 😁 now I am helping more kids learn this piece, even though it is slightly different starting at the triplet section. I will forever use this channel as a wonderful learning tool ❤
This is so helpful. My teacher deliberately picked this because she knew it was a piece I wouldnt connect with. Its helpful to listen to it played slowly and methodically.
Kids, enjoy it! I'm 63 and it takes me a lot longer to learn :-)
That's great that you are making all efforts. It is much harder for adults (something like to learn how to walk on the rope), but I am sure that you are so happy and proud to see your performance level improve. All the best!
This piece was a playing test in my school during my junior year. This along with the Ash Grove are my top favorites when I'm warming up.
Me too! It was my schools audition for the top orchestra
I can't even describe how beautiful it is. Amazing!!!
Amazing man, even 5 years later still will listen to this to help me calm down! Amazing trills and vibrato, tempo was amazing as well as intonation! Keep up the good work!!
Happy to hear that!
Thank you so much, very helpful on my practice.
Played this for a recital four years ago and your videos were always there to support me until now, in my 9th year of playing. Really enjoyed your content, it is so helpful!
That's awesome! I am so happy to hear it!
We all appreciate your works 😊 This really helps me as a learning student
Thank you! I hope we will continue learning cello together.
I like this version without the piano, I can practice the piano part along with it. My student is playing and I have to accompany!
I usually don’t listen to things like this, but these wonderful recordings has made me watch the pieces for Suzuki book 4 and these recordings has made me learn a lot! Thanks!
Great! Beautiful playing! Beautiful cello! I wish I had this video available to me when I was learning this piece a few years ago.
Thank you very much! I have videos of more advanced music. I hope you will find them interesting. Stay safe!
This helped me so much! My teacher was so proud of me on my last lesson! By the way your cello playing is wonderful!
So happy for you - not every student can take advantage of these videos to add it to all precious knowledge given by their teachers.
Always appreciate you and others like you who help us learn!
Beautiful! I look forward to learning this. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. God bless you.
So helpful! Thank you!
This helped me so much! Thank you! There was some tricky rhythms that got me tripped up, but listening to you play really helped me figure this out for my solo!
Yes. This is a tricky piece. I am happy you are making good progress!
It's been so long, I always came to your channel when I practiced as a kid for videos and tips. Now it's been 6 or 7 years, I'm so glad to see you're doing well!
I haven’t seen him play for a long time, Great Job!!!
this man has real talent. much respect
Love your videos!
I'm a cello student, and I think that your playing is AWESOME!
I don't know why I did not sucscribe earlier, as it REALLY helped me play the piece.
I hope that when I grow up, I will have half as much.
Good job!!
So happy to hear it. All the best to you!
Enjoying your interpretation so much! Especially because I‘m learning this :D
those videos helped me a lot with my cello playing and listening to those fantastic music videos are awesome !
Wow this is the best floating legless cello player I’ve seen! 😮

@@Cellopediayep
My favor part of this piece are the string of triplets in the beginning. You played them very well, almost staccato but still with the deep tones of a normal note.❤
thank you so much for making these videos!!
I just can't stop listening! It's so beautiful~ Thanks for sharing all of the videos. They've been really helpful!
Glad you enjoy it! Best wishes to you!
Thank you for these awesome vids some of them helped on my exam
Thank you so much! Does anyone have tips for intonation on this piece?
Absolutely, intonation can be tricky in this piece! A good strategy is to practice slowly, section by section. By the way, if you're interested in a detailed guide, there is a dedicated online course for this sonata on Udemy. It includes various techniques and tips to nail the intonation. Keep practicing and you'll definitely improve www.udemy.com/course/best-music-for-cello-student-sonata-by-j-b-breval/?couponCode=CELLOFOREVER

@@Cellopedia Do you have any tips for playing bar 25 to 30, i am learning it right now but my fingers is not long enough to reach it, so do you have any tips? From a 10 year old kid

Wowww y listen this song a lot of times and I loveeeee ❤
Thank you so much!! I’ll spend the summer with your amazing lessons. Bless your generosity 🙏🏼
You're very welcome! Your kind words truly mean a lot. All the best!
Thanks! So Helpful!!
Thank you so much for your videos! As a newer adult cello student the fast and slow tempos help me internalize the music. I so enjoy listening and then know what to strive for in learning a new piece!🥰
This is just amazing! Listened a hundred times!
Glad to hear it. Let’s keep learning cello together!
I love this picture and you also taught me more of the trillling, god bless you!
Helpful for my 7yo son who is currently learning this piece. And sounds beautiful. Thank you!
Happy to hear it!
Lol, when I was 7 I didn’t even know what a cello was
Haha 😊
İ just started playing this piece a few days ago and since my teacher couldnt see me listening to this has been really helpfull and calming❤❤
Happy to hear it. ❤️ Don’t worry, I will not tell your teacher 😂
This song is amazing. While almost always used for students as a didactic use, it has a lovely melody and rhythm
Very true. As far as I know, Breval composed it for himself to perform all over Europe. It is amazing how much value it adds to cello student repertoire even in 21st century.
息子13歳がこの曲のレッスンヲ受けています。この演奏動画が一番好きです。

ありがとうございました! あなたの息子に最高です。 彼が将来彼を助ける他のビデオを見つけることを願っています。
Thank you!:) BY. son
I’m trying to learn this right now on my cello. There’s not a lot of repetition, so it’s been hard for me, until I hear this guy play it!
Thank you so much for your kind words! It's fantastic to hear that my performance has helped you with your own practice. Yes, pieces without a lot of repetition can be quite challenging, but they also provide a great opportunity to expand your skills and musical understanding. Keep practicing and don't hesitate to revisit the video as many times as you need. Happy practicing and keep up the great work on the cello!

Question of the day What is your favorite cello music?
Bach suite no. 1
Allegro Moderato
Bach suite 1 prelude
This one!!
Saint-Saens The Swan
im sorry but you are just AMAZING. I'm a cello student and I just moved on to Suzuki book 4. This is by far the most beautiful song I've heard right next to cello suite no. 1 in g major. I watch your videos every time i go onto a new song in my Suzuki books. You are truly talented. I don't know why I haven't subscribed earlier. C:
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so happy to be of help. All the best to you!

Yes, I love it too!
How is he doing this effortlessly like he makes it look so easy😭
I've been using your videos to help with my practice. I'm curious if you always have all of these pieces memorized, or do you spend a lot of time before you record the videos to memorize them? I think I've played most of the pieces in Suzuki a hundred times and I when I go back to old ones I realize I have not memorized them.
Nice vibrato, seriously I like it👍
Thank you!
Beautiful ❤❤

Your playing is amazing - how were you able to get such good tone? I'm learning this piece right now and the two main problems I have is hitting adjacent strings, in the parts with a lot of crossing, and intonation. My primary issue is touching adjacent strings however. Any tips?
Thank you for your kind words! Achieving a good tone on your instrument largely depends on technique and practice. For avoiding hitting adjacent strings, focus on the bow's angle and placement. Ensure it's neither too close to the fingerboard nor the bridge. Practice controlled, slow bow movements, emphasizing smooth transitions between strings. A relaxed yet firm bow grip is essential, with movements originating from the elbow and shoulder, not just the wrist. Incorporate specific exercises that focus on string crossing to enhance precision. For improving intonation, ear training is crucial. Practice challenging sections slowly to ensure accurate finger placement. Initially, fingerboard tapes can be used as guides, but aim to phase them out as your skill advances. Consistency in practice will gradually enhance both your tone and precision. 🎻🎶
@@Cellopedia Thank you for the advice! I still need to practice the string crossing bits but for the triplets I can add some ritardando in for effect and to make it a little easier. All that remains is getting the tuning better as it's very off currently.
Love it❤❤❤
oh my goodness you are amazing!!!!! I am still in book three, but this is the song I am doing for my ISSMA Solo. My favorite cello music is probably Minuet No. 3 in the third book. Maybe its in the second book. Also it might straight up be called Minuet, I can't remember. I love it because my brother used to play it and it reminds me of him while he's at college.
Thank you! Best of luck in your solo competition!
