What a beautiful song. It isn't the happiest for Valentine's Day, but I think it's important to remind people today that love isn't always shiny and easy, and sometimes even isn't genuine or/and doesn't last forever.
The song itself is so beautiful: the harmonies and the guitar air, and the music video is so calming and pretty too ! I love it.
Now, problem: it's going to be stuck in my head during my exam this morning and I won't be able to focus woops

I really like this philosophy. I would like to add that if your relationship indeed fails, after grieving for a bit; there is no need to be bitter.
You found love with this apparently wrong person, which means you will find love again. Maybe this other person will be a bit better. And maybe not.
We should have good relationships of course; but we should stop hoping for the perfect relationship. Other than a few (suspiciously) lucky ones, most of us won't find them.

I am still too young to understand a deep truthful love but as a teenager beginning to see the evil of this world and seeing why things fall apart without the blissful ignorance of a child, "the love we learned as kids was darker than we think born out of a dark indelible ink" really put so much together. There are so many quoteable lines in this piece and you can take it any way you'd like

This song is a promise to us all. There's no right person, each can be bested. You don't need to wonder if you did a mistake because you probably did cause we taught nothing of love. And yet, it's a promise. No need to run around and reject people all life long for 'right one'. Within the time you can or can not fall in love deeper with someone imperfect, bumpy, with loosen limbs. What a great promise to all us imperfect people.

My mom and dad broke up when I was 5. My dad hasn’t dated for over 10 years since then. My mom went through so many guys until she married one. This song title is my greatest fear. However, I know I am smart, strong, and independent. I will marry the right person. One day.
edit: so not to jinx myself but I think I found my soulmate. He is gentle. He is patient. He is respectful. Maybe I won't end up like my parents after all. He's the right person for me; I know it in my gut.
You just have to make them the right person. Even if they aren't perfect. But 80% good is really already much better than average. It's an attitude thing.

I think I've found the solution to this.....don't get married. We've been together half our lives and we both get the fear at doing the whole big wedding and all that stress and everyone staring at us. But somehow going into the registry office feels a bit anti-climactic. Still going strong, still very much in love and committed to one another. Still nothing legal or religious binding us just choice.
