    I like the leading lines created by the rocks in the foreground of that last image, it's a composition worthy of a repeat visit.

    It’s so nice to see detail in the water as everyone seems to smooth out the water these days. . Loved the Neist Point lighthouse images

    Cracking Images from Brides Veil Waterfalls Paul , and the 1st 2 from Neish Point are absolutely excellent , you really should have mentioned to your viewers that this is not the easiest place in the world to get to , and that walk back up the steps is an absolute killer L.O.L. , a super video

    We really like the first image you displayed from the Bridal Veil falls. You may want to include some of your post-processing of the images particularly when you indicated you “turned down the variance”.

    At brides veil fall a solution to the moving bracken ( this is common in areas of moving water as it increases airflow) would be to take one image for the foliage and one for the moving water and combine the two later you ending up with a cleaner image...kind regards JC ....

    • @PaulthomsonphotographyUk
      @PaulthomsonphotographyUk  5 лет назад +1

      Yes would have probably considered that although I did quite like the effect that the movement gave. So I didnt try to take another image. Maybe next time I have the same issue I will try both to see what works out best. Many thanks for your insight 😀✌👍

    Superb work, some great images from Skye. When I was there 50 years ago it rained like I'd never seen before. I was broke as the Bank of Scotland won't cash a bankers check that I had. I had to use my Leica M2 as collateral at hostel. Finally a very generous American cashed my bank check drawn on the Morgan Stanley bank in New York were he was from. I hitched hiked back to Holland by car and boat. After two years of wandering I returned to Alberta. What time the year did you take that image as want and plan to return to Skye next fall. Take care and keep up the good work. Cheers.

    aye,just down the road from the storr.nice video paul,shot at the falls a few times,was it as wet as normal?was lucky when I was down by the lighthouse at neist point,beautiful colour in the sky which shone on the rock face below the lighthouse.got to love the midges though.

      it was a lovely day mate apart from the coach loads of people that suddenly surround you. Like some kind of spectator sport lol. Beautiful location down by the coast looking up towards the lighthouse . I much prefer it to the standard shot 😀👍✌

  • @anne-marielittenberg8950
    @anne-marielittenberg8950 5 лет назад +1

    Serious question...does anyone by you use deet against the midges? Or do you all just grin and bare it?

    • @PaulthomsonphotographyUk
      @PaulthomsonphotographyUk  5 лет назад

      Hehe no we do try and use repellent but it is questionable how effective it is. Best plan seems to be a head net but it is not the most practical for photography as you struggle to see through it! 🤣👍✌

    CRACKING PICS AND VID PAUL. just saw your post on a facebook page im on and clicked the link for the video,
    can I ask if that's a sony camera your using and if so which, as im looking at upgrading my kit from a canon mid range to sony and been looking at the A7iii , A7Rii and the A7Riii obviously the R range have the more megapixels , but saw the a7iii out perform both in a comparison vid in a Cpl areas of low exposure and high exposure retaining colour a bit better as you increased stops, just wondering how real life applications work on it

    • @PaulthomsonphotographyUk
      @PaulthomsonphotographyUk  5 лет назад

      Many thanks and glad you enjoyed the content. I currently use the Sony A7rii and love it . I have no experience with the other models but as for the Rii I have been blown away by the difference in quality of my images. The main complaint seems to be battery life but if you are just shooting stills and not video the battery lasts just fine . You will be happy with any of the above to be honest but if it is the A7RII I can highly recommend it. Hope this helps mate 😀👍✌

    • @firstclickphotography8318
      @firstclickphotography8318 5 лет назад

      cheers paul appreciate it, yeah heard about the battery life, think the sony will be the route, and everything I see the lenses and images you get are great ,
      have subscribed to channel as like the content and images are great too
