Awesome video, Andy, love this type of content and as Frank says, really helps to improve one's game! The only thing that could've made the video better would be Zunk reminding himself to talk about the game :D cheers!
We`d love to watch such videos more likely, because a) watching replay 2 times shorter than vod of the stream. (thx for saving our time) b) a lot of useful tips c) no unnecessary information, such as reading comment from the chat and so on. d) You know beforehand, that it will be well prepared useful video, but not some random game
I just recently found your channel and I love that your doing this kind of content. I see your videos and I know you have a lot of knowledge about the game but since your so focused on the game and since Zunk does most of the talking I can never get the reason for your moves. Please do more of this thank you!
Turn 7... you have so many options... what about: Warrior south of the ball 2-die blocks, Beast north of the ball Blitzes east, 2-die block. If push, stays for assist (and Beast further east comes to pick up the ball). If the elf falls, follow, then circle to pick up the ball.
New to BB, thanks for the content! One question so I understand things better. At 9:20 you blitz and get a push and push the opponent on top of the ball. It scatters your way and I get that you have 2 tackle zones so it's not likely for a successful pickup but is that regarded as the right move or personal preference? If he makes that pickup you have another block at the ball carrier which is good but it just wasn't the default choice I would have made (I recognize I'm making plenty of errors by default, that's why I'm here!). Also the turn before when you blitz to set up for the surf at 5:10, you didn't stand the guy up first right next to him. Was this basically because you were looking at a (1/3)^4 failure since you still had your reroll and standing him up after would potentially allow better positioning if you knocked your target down?
1st point - when u knock someone onto the ball they dont get a free shot at picking it up, its a 100% scatter. that pitch state is to try and move it from 3 tacklezones to something less than 3.
because if the dice roll is a POW/Stumbles, the prone guy can be the assist to make the surf 2D. I didnt want to move the ball carrier to the edge to do it.
Oh wow I didn't know that about the auto scatter, that makes a lot more sense. Also I didn't even see the follow up assist until you mentioned it. Thanks!
21:07 Interesting turn to score, very well explained as we are used to. I have a question: Making 2 go for it rolls could not be safer than making that pass? 22:09 11/36 agains 12/36 failure chances. On the other hand, the pass being 2,77% less safer to score it is more effective to get the ball away out of the elves hands. WP and thanks for the videos.
@@AndyDavoBloodBowl Nice, I can zoom in a little more in that turn. Rolling a 2 on that pass can be still a TD roll, if the ball ends its third scatters on the target square of the pass. That pass has almost 67%+about 0,8%(harder to catch) if Im not mistaken.
2:09 "I want to score on turn 8" - why turn 8? To prevent the opponent having a chance that half? EDIT: Great video! You basically answer this in the video later on. I am curious about formations now - like T-shapes!
Great video Andy. Really shows that especially first 2 turns are really important to get right (skill and luck). Turn2 was absolutely unlucky, the play was right as you needed to do stuff, and playing around turnover there loses your momentum. On the other hand if on turn1 blitz the lino on the middle with 3d instead (which you spotted) your position wouldn't look so bad and you hold your ground on the middle better. Most likely gives you more safety on turn2. Most importantly you kept your head together. It doesn't always go like that, but if you keep outplaying your opponent generally dice turn around and you get some results. They say in bbowl you make your own luck. :)
On turn 4: Why did you blitz immediately instead of blocking the left most elf? That's a 2d block, so 1/9 chance of failure. If it works (even on a push) you don't need to use the gfi (1/6 chance of failure)
@@AndyDavoBloodBowl Sure, at ruclips.net/video/MYelqYZBzeY/видео.htmlm38s your beastman is blitzing and has to use a gfi in order to avoid a tackle zone. If blocking the elf closest to the blitzer, you should be able to push the tackle zone away giving you blitzer a "direct" path to he ball carrier.
Turn 2, when discussing what you could've done before the Blitz that went horribly wrong... is there a reason why didn't you stand up the Beastman next to the ball carrier?
@@AndyDavoBloodBowl How about standing up with him and setting up the assist with one of your free beastmen? Since your goal is to score late on turn 8 anyways i would probably try to play it as safe as possible. Though my play here would probably be retreat you free linemen to setup below your ball carrier and then go for the crowd surf. If it works, he can block your warrior but then lacks players to blitz your ball carrier from that side. In case you fail the block as in the video, you would only give him a 1d block on your ball carrier, assuming your warrior stay on the field. In that case he didn't, which makes it even more unlucky, but if he goes down and "blocks" his square then you have as good as a protection on the ball carrier as possible. Am i missing something?
I'm for sure no player of your caliber but I dont hate your turn 7 play. In fact I would probably have done it myself bc I felt like you had to give yourself as many chances as possible to pick up the ball
I'm new to the game with only 3 games played on table, and I tried a game with Elven Union, and then onto Norse. I love Norse! But, I have been wondering about other teams as well and what would really fit me. I want a team that isn't too weak or too slow, but at the same time they are not just a jack-of-all-trades bland team. I like the thought of unique mechanics on the players.
Turn 6, before the unlucky block that turned over... when you say there was nothing else you could've done at that point of the turn.... can't you 2-die block with the Beastman closest to the left sideline, to free up the other Beastman for the next turn?
Maybe it’s just the way I see it, but a lot of times he decides not to pick up his players. I don’t understand why tho. For example the beast man on the left he waited 2 turns to pick up. Could someone explain it to me.
Ok that turn 2 blitz to both down (with 2d rerolled) to armor break on 9 armor to KO had a 2 in 17523 chance of happening. Anyone better at math feel free to correct me, but wow quite unlucky that is

5:13 At the start of turn 2, it looks like you could have tried blocking the elf that was marking the ball carrier (or dodging away), handing off to the beastman in the elves' half, and then that beastman running forward.
Yes i could, but consider the dodge is a 3+ with RR (1/9 fail), the Blitz was 1/9 fail with a RR, so 1/81. :( It also should have got me a surf. It was just poor luck sadly. This however should not be confused with the poor choixces I made in parts. This is a dice game so i feel you can call bad luck, as long as you are fair and call poor choices as well!
