Just turn your character away as you cheap shot so you don’t auto attack after it. But ye, you could also macro it like /Cast cheap shot /cleartarget /targetlasttarget. This will keep your combo points on the target in my experience. Could work with /stopattack or /cancelattack, but I haven’t tried. I prefer the 90 degree turning method because I won’t need another keybind just for this. It’s not hard but needs some practice.

Ofcourse u sap then cheapshot and then stop auto attack directly. Easiest with a macro.
