Lovely touch with the Jack Barclay plates Paul , one of the most famous and historic names in Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealerships .The car is turning into a spectacular and beautiful example .
Such a beautiful car Paul, you've done a lovely job in making it nice again and i look forward to the first drive and mot etc, such a beautiful colour. Looks brand new 👍🏻😊
The electrical jobs (cleaning muck and tarnish off) are not dis-similar to those I see on pro-audio equipment, which also has a hard life! Great job as always.
It's Sunday afternoon and here's another day in the life of the 'Big Scarlet Beast..." What a journey it's been... My favourite project car and channel on YT.... 🫡👍
I'm pretty sure that the hex socket on the drain and fill plugs is 1/2", but since that's 12.7mm+clearance+some wear, a 13mm should be a snug fit, probably a better tool to use. The engine sump plug would be 9/16", almost exactly 14mm, they've been using that plug since WW2.
What’s the bet that if the fuel filter looks like it has never been changed, then that is probably the factory diff oil. With a relatively low mileage it could still look fairly clean after all these years. Most likely that under seal is factory??? Love the Jack Barclays plates Paul. What a great idea and nice new plates too. BTW I could hear the RR clock ticking when you were inside reassembling that number plate light. It’s WAY too loud. 🤔
That old diff oil looked great compared to the blackened sludge I've seen (and smelt...) oozing out of the live axle diffs on other cars. Still...you'll have fewer doubts about the state of that rear end. I've never seen anyone put a little daub of sealant on the seal of the drain plug. I dare say that more people should be following your lead. One fewer worry on the worry list. As a cyclist...I'm often out riding at night and seeing completely non-functioning license plate lights. That would be quite unseemly on your car. I suspect your repair will last longer than the original. Those new plates of yours will be visible from space now that you've sorted out those lights. You will have MONTHS more content to capture whilst working on that front end. Imagine all the Euclidean stuff about geometry and angles and all that adjusting and fettling. Woo-hoo! I'm certainly looking forward to that. Aloha and take care!
Just take to Rolls Royce it's easier. They have qualified RR specialists that will have it like new in a few weeks. I believe they will pick it up , so no hassles.

Well done! That clean lens and new bulbs was a “bright” idea!
Another few jobs ticked off! Soon get through them. The plate looks nice now. Dave Birmingham
Very satisfying as always 👍🏴
Really enjoying your Rolls restoration
Thanks Buddy

Retro Plates are the saviour!! Really recommend those guys.
Fab job as always 👌
First class jobs done as per !! Man that lights were needing the LOC treatment !!
That is turning out to be a fabulous car. It’s SO lucky that it was in good condition when you found it
Nice work , I need to get the gearbox and differential oil changed on my Jag
great video
Thanks 😊
Nice work Paul, an extra upgrade for the number plate lights could have been to install LED globes, brighter light & low heat.
I did think about that but prefer to keep original yellow glow 👍

Great info thanks
Happy days 😊😊😊
the diff oil level should be up to the filler plug, its good to see oil dripping out to get the right level
Yeah that's a good guide in most cars
Hmmm I would torque to spec and new washers
Yeeeeeehaw!!!

Paul did you say 2.9 litres of diff fluid came out and you only put 2.8 of new fluid in? Love the brass plugs, quality.
he said spec is 2.8ltrs

Put the toothbrush back in the pot and she will never notice haha

Where's the fun in that! 😄
@JL-of3db I don't have to listen to the wife saying " how much longer " every 10 minutes. I can now tell her to phone the dealer .
Did you need to buy new washers? Or are the not crush washers so ok to use again?
@@hamishcruden7623 they are not crush washers and can be reused 👍
GL-4 ? Wouldn’t GL-5 be called for in a differential??
I agree, GL-5 is for hypoid gears in diffs. GL-4 is for manual gear boxes.
When did Tyson Fury start fixing up car 😂😂😂😂
