  • Tutorial how to reset the service interval for Skoda Octavia 2 - Mk2, 1Z3, 2004-2013
    This can be useful for example in the following situations:
    When the service is sometimes jumps over this step or when you do the car maintenance into one service that do not known the reset procedure for this car.
    When you personally do the car maintenance by yourself at your home or in a garage.
    The purpose of this video is to do this procedure only if you performed the service, replaced the filters, replaced the oil, and everything that is needed at that time, and only afterwards you need to reset the service interval. The purpose is not to reset just for clearing the message about the service. If you like it, don't forget to subscribe and like the video, please.

    Really helpful video. Thanks for posting. I bought an oil and filter service from a National service branch rather than buying a dealer service so needed a re-set. The manual tells you this can be done but not how!

    Is it works in the Octavia MK3? And the "service" light means that i just have to change the oil or is it means serious promlems too? (In an other case?)

      You're welcome! That led can be turned off only by using the application software diagnose on a laptop connected to the car, by advanced diagnose interface. It is recommended to be turned off, only after the problem of the car was fixed.

    After this procedure has been carried out, is my srvice interval at 15k KM?
    Is it possible to check how many km/days until next service?
    Thanks!

    • @NarcisDitiu
      @NarcisDitiu  8 лет назад

      Yes, after the procedure, the service interval is reset at 15000 km and one year.
      Is not possible to check the number of km/days. But the computer displays the warning when one of the counters (km/days) are close to the end interval. You can find this information in the manual.

      +Narcis Ditiu i found this on BRISKODA forum:
      "1. Turn on ignition
      2. Fasten seat belt to get rid of seat belt message
      3 Turn off ignition
      4 Press and hold down mileage trip reset button
      Mileage and number of days to next service will appear.
      Trip mileage is not reset doing this.
      Hope this helps!"
      and it works just fine.
      Cheers

    Any help with this problem,I have a 2007 model Octavia 2.0 diesel DSG Estate in all respects a fine car and nice to drive,however lately its started to ding ding a lot,ding ding tail gate open (its not) ding ding ,seat belt undone(its not) ding ding,defective number plate light (it isnt) sometimes ding ding airbag fault accompanied by light on dashboard,(have no idea if airbag not working and reluctant to crash and find out) however light and ding ding stops and starts again for no reason,have tried usual remedys ie disconnecting negative side of battery and re connecting etc (just ended up with ding ding asr defective (it wasnt) ,also tried just sitting in car and swearing and thumping steering wheel didnt work so any ideas,reluctant to take car to Skoda dealer as I live in Romania so Skodas suddenly become Audis when parts and servicing involved and priced accordingly.

      This is not a simple problem. I advise you to go to a authorized service for diagnose first. Then you can decide if you would repair or not.

    • @NarcisDitiu

      Hi, please comment in the same language as the video. This can be checked in the manual of the car if the procedure is the same.

    • @AlexandruCioanca
      @AlexandruCioanca 8 лет назад

      The car's manual only mentions how to reset it like you do in the video. However, it says that for QG1 cars, this "should be done by a dealer through the car's computer". Mine is a QG1.

      @NarcisDitiu  8 лет назад

      If you completed the car revision then you can try to follow the procedure in order to reset the service. If you succeed, please let us know. Thank you!
