The random apparently had comms with the enemy team because he would meet them and give comms to where we were on the map. This was in emerald to champ lobbies btw. i truly dont know where that narrative comes from. that a group of friends can boost a player easily. im playing with my friends, they are waaaaay better than me. they go up to emerald and i stop climbing at silver/gold. we would have to win 10 in a row for me to go up a rank. its probably because im playing way above my skill level and my KDA is really bad. i dont know why, but im sure im unboostable.

@@lizzie3340It’s because you aren’t as good… the ranked system now tries to get you into your hidden rank. Aka if your hidden rank is diamond but your real rank is copper, you will gain more elo for wins and lose less for losses until you get into your hidden rank. This means you can play the same amount of games as your buddies and still have different ranks. Hope this clears things up. PS lobbies also go by avg elo of your team so theoretically you could go up against 2 champs 3 coppers as a 5 stack of gold/silver players.

try and play some solo q games it will help you learn the games also in the higher lobbies learn the site set ups and attack strats also try and get your friends who are better to coach you when they’re dead and try for the most part to listen what they say after the rounds over if you’re confused why they told you to do something ask them fastest way to get better

I've been slowly climbing the ranks in siege and only recently hit diamond after being stuck in emerald for a couple seasons and yet the actual diamond teammates I get in ranked (I know they are because charms and backgrounds) will TK, afk, throw, or look like they've genuinely never played siege before.
Once i hit emerald this season I have been playing so many more cheaters than usual, some blatant crazy stuff but more often it is some subtle walls or soft aim with hipfire. On top of going from gaining 65 elo per match to only 25 after very few games with a 2.0 win loss it is very annoying to play higher ranks anymore
Hi Varsity, wanted to get your word on a Console matter, so as you know mousetrap has greatly reduced mnk on console which worked well for a few months, but now all of the mnk players seem to be back. I had a chat with one in game chat, so they now abuse the remote play feature that PS4/5 have to keep on cheating, at what point will Ubisoft start banning these players? They cheat confidently and knowing they wont get banned. We do beat these players since they need cheats to win, but still ruins the ranked experience.

Mousetrap didn't actually work. Xim is still around and more egregious than ever. And Ubi's "ban" is most of the time a 7-14 day suspension at most which does nothing because they come back and do the same thing again rather than just perma banning them and getting rid of the problem.
This season has been rough. Theres less rage cheater and more closet cheaters that i would have expected. I supposed it makes sense since you dont want your KD to go through the roof now that they doing stat bans

You would be able to spmewhat hear that Iana pushed into Freezer due to the whole area being metal and the wall being opened as it is, the only questionable aspect is whether or not youd br able to hear a person switching from Crouch to prone from that far away. The stack i play with doesnt do that hole because someone (usually me) is on the boxes he went to just before the c4 chuck

its not even hard for Ubi to tell if someone is boosted or not, stat sites use to track who you queued with (no clue if they still do) but its clearly a metric Ubi stored in there API so Ubi knows who you queue with, make it a 10 game metric where if you queue with a cheater in a squad for 10 games or more and said cheater is banned, any and all accounts that meet the 10 game limit are banned at least for the duration of the season. You are then unbanned for the next season BUT ranked its locked out for another season so effectively 2 seasons your acc is locked out from competitive lobbies
TBH alot of players who unknowingly played with cheaters would get banned also. Once made friends with the best closet cheater i've ever met but after like 2 months we discovered that he was cheating never seen him since we confronted him about it.
I stopped caring about this game just this season. I never really played ranked all that much, maybe 2-4 matches a season. This season, I was feeling really into it and played a lot. I queued up with a buddy who was in the same boat. As of writing this, we have only played together, we have the same KD, and we played about the same amount in previous seasons for ranked. We are consistently in emerald/diamond lobbies, yet I stopped making elo in high silver, and he is in mid Plat still making great headway. I would get it if maybe I actually played a lot in previous seasons compared to him but I played the same amount. Same case if he had a better K/D or even anything that would put him markedly higher, but at this point I lost interest. So disheartening to play the same matches with the same stats but be left in the dust due to some invisible number that I have no way of effecting. I'm debating making a new account just so I can possibly get a higher hidden MMR so I don't feel so disheartened in ranked matches.
This is why ranked 1.0 is needed, as annoying as it was playing higher ranks than what you are you’d lose less and gain a lot more if you won. And obviously you don’t play a lot of games, so placements would get you to that rank you deserve instead of having to grind your way up to it

I agree with the leave penalty, yesterday I had a quickmatch where my whole team all 4 guys were rotated 2 time until the end of the match. But I want to note it's not the end of the world I understand but it still ruins the match and not to mention when you just dont get a new player in.
I only abandon QM if it’s a shit map like night haven or lair. If they had goddamn map filters it would absolutely cut down on early match abandons. I don’t think QM needs a penalty for leaving at any point though, just give solo queuers an opt in option to fill mid match games for some extra reward and filling would be much more consistent.
Also U can't compare Valorant and LOL with R6, because every round in R6 is a 'fresh start'. V & LOL have economy across rounds/time that can't work as is, when a player just joins an ongoing match. Ubi should allow a map avoidance filter, like back in the old days, just put a max amount of blocked maps to like 5 in place.

Casual shouldn't have a leaver penalty unless you're leaving almost every match. That's what overwatch does. You have to leave most of your matches before you get a penalty and I think that's fair. People who play casual are usually....casual players. It's not supposed to be tryharding. It's supposed to be just casual fun or try stuff. Many people that just wanna relax after work and play a few fun matches play casual because they can leave if they have to.
doesn't the new commendation system makes it so these boosted players do not get the rewards at the end of season due to being dishonorable after getting banned? Or is it just easy for them to play a couple games after the ban and get their commendation back to high enough for them to not be left out of the rewards?
@@_DMNO_ The rewards include any Ranked rewards at the end of season (background and charm) which is the driving factor into these people getting boosted. As he said in the video (around 6-7min-ish) people just get boosted to champ by blatant cheaters and then the worst they get is a 2 week ban, then they come back from that and no matter what they do they've secured their champ border and charm with no real punishment. imo getting a serious ban like that should AT LEAST lock you out completely of getting Ranked Border/Charms but right now I think these people can just play a bunch of normals and build the reputation back by just playing, which is pretty damn stupid imo.
Hey Varsity from my understanding, they no longer do that 15 day ban for being boosted by cheaters. I have seen people lose thousands of MMR but never actually have their rank reset. I haven't seen a ban for being boosted by cheaters since at least phantom sight
It'll be buried but in Match 2, the Ash vs Frost/Lesion gunfight, KevO (playing Zero) is on a drone until Lesion is killed. Maybe that's this missing info that can confirm/deny cheating?
38:33 i have noticed that if a higher ranked player plays with 3 or 4 lower ranked players, the matchmaking will put the squad close to the lower rank. I have played with 4 silvers and just deleted the enemy team while just fucking about. not because i am good but just cause the enemies were a way lower rank.
I will stop leaving quick matches when Ubi quick match will make sense. As a Gold/Plate player, I don't understand why I should face a champ so I just leave when I see it's not going to be fun. I don't care to become better, I just want to have fun and have a chance to win.
I've found that if you just play the match out, it can sometimes be worth it. I'm similar ranked and if you're Gold/Plat getting matched with Champs, they are probably very shit Champs. Apparently that's what this whole big boosting problem is about. Lower skill players get into Champ rank, but they aren't Champ skill. Try a little harder and they'll cry knowing they aren't as good as their rank says.

But for exemple, a month ago I faced a pro player from SSG (official account, etc). We played it and got destroyed 0-3. Total combined killed by my teamates in 3 rounds? 2 kills. I'm still looking for the fun experience.
i hate facing low ranked players in QM as a high ranked player. It’s not fun just running and killing them with 0 effort and i feel bad for them also, im sure it isn’t fun for them either

Either force ranked players to exclusively play with others in their rank, stopping them from playing with friends in other ranks (terrible plan) or stop taking a computer game this seriously this late in life ( best plan) its sad tbh.
I don't really see a point in having abandon sanctions in casual. it makes sense in ranked, but not casual. Is it annoying af to have a teammate drop? Yes, is it the end of the world? No, not really. Some people have shit connections, some people have a real life, including kids, pets, work, etc. that require their attentions at the worst times. those people tend to stick to casual modes. Now if they had a means to ONLY penalize people whom regularly rage/troll leave games with these sanctions, then sure, it'd make sense. They've yet to demonstrate that they do have such capabilities, however, so it doesn't make much sense to have them for casual. TL;DR: Casual is for normal people and noobs, stick to ranked if it bothers you that much. 🤷
The ranked system is a joke now anyways. I know plat level players that get to champ now every season. I play with them in those lobbies and it just feels like old plat lobbies.

Easiest way to make this harder by a landslide- dont let diamonds play with any rank below diamond, dont let emerald play with any rank beow gold, everyone else can play together. Now a booster needs 3 separate accounts to even get someone to diamond AND you can podibly ban him
It use to have a MMR cap, but they took it out so "we can play with friends" but all they need to do is just put them in lobbies with the highest MMR. I prefer the old system but the way it is now at least make it so you play at the highest skill in the squad. It doesn't fix shit 2.0 but at least it stops boosters, well you can still cheat boost but that's not going anywhere unless they get better anti-cheat. You cant boost off your 4 "copper" friends if you're put into lobbies of your highest friend. You'd have to all have the same rank level to get the easiest matches which means you're now just playing rank how its suppose to.
I have been solo queueing this week and been getting stuck with 5 stacks on the other team with 2 champs with a couple bronze/coppers and at least a plat in copper/bronze lobbies almost every match… the boosting in ranked lobbies makes the game borderline unplayable at times (for reference I’m a copper 4)
The problem is that not all of us are boosted,a lot of us just don't have dedicated teammates,my wiin rate is 4.6 and I'm gold. It's hard to find people that want to play to to win. Shit I can't even find people with mics half the time

I’ve been saying this for years especially since R6 tracker used to show who people have played with, how many games and if they’ve played with cheaters. There is no way r6 tracker has that information but ubi doesn’t it’s absurd how obvious it is when someone has over 100 games with various banned cheaters but they won’t get banned for it
Also if they banned people for being boosted it wouldn’t just stop boosting it would affect the amount of cheaters in total, I believe a lot of cheaters do it because they make money from boosting
The reason people like the no penalty in QP is so when you're waiti8ng for your friends you have something to do and can leave at any moment without a penalty. QP isn't serious at all and at least my friends just go there to warm up or mess around as we take the other game modes more serious. I also don't care if my whole team leaves in QP as I don't care about what happens and I only use it to waste time waiting for my friends to get on, or to do stupid things without anyone getting mad.

on the abandoning matches topic for people who join in progress we need some kind of reward for sticking thought it a few days ago i was level 96 on the bp and it took me over 4 hours to finish the last 4 levels because i kept joining 0-2 or 0-1 games then losing i was barely getting any progress but then a friend got on we played 3 games full games and won and i got the last 2 levels done instantly there needs to be more punishment for leaving and for people who join they need some kind of reward for playing it out
I only have 400 hours over many seasons but because I have thumbs and more than 2 brain cells apparently I'm in emerald hidden MMR. Hard pass on that. I think casual or quick match should not have a leave penalty. I usually instantly leave a casual or quick match when there is toxic or sweat in my team. People might tell me to man up to take it, but I honestly don’t feel like wasting 20 minutes on a match that is mentally torturing. Casual is casual, if you don’t feel like it leave. If the sweat think i suck, I leave so I don’t be liability. As for standard, a one day penalty is enough as people do leave because life calls.

At around 26:05 right after the guy shoots the drone it looks like for a split second his aim went up and he was looking at the enemy player that was moving across it wasn't like a direct look at but he looked at where they where
tbf banning boosted people is hard. for instance i play with my friends most of them are bronze at absolute best while im like em/plat obviously this leads them to ranking up to gold ish every season. i am technically boosting them but i just play with my homies. yea its not with cheats which ig makes a difference but still hard to detect id imagine

Quickmatch can have abandon penalty when the cheater epidemic comes to an end. With how many cheaters there are in game, having a gamemode you can solo for warmup and not have to worry about being forced to stay in a lobby with an Obvi cheater

Boosting can be done by legitimate players but not in your described situation. It'd usually be 1 player with 4 smurfs sweating in low ranks, or players queueing with a cheater to boost their rank
Tbh i think that ppl that plays with someone that is cheating for multiple matches (in the same party) should be permaban aswell, cuz if it happens once it's a case but for more than 2 or 3 matches, that guy in the same party knows that he is cheating.
On match two the guy who was accused had the glacier skin for the r4c so he was probably cheating just off that alone, cus he didn’t ever play ranked for that far back
Would it be crazy if they allowed us to watch teammate perspectives if we are on cams. Say I’m playing maestro and I’m way off site. I don’t want to make noise by getting off cams to check if I’m still safe. So I just spectate my teammates to check where enemies are if the cameras don’t give me enough intel. This also would help tremendously if someone accuses a teammate of cheating, then you could just get on cams really quick instead of running out and dying to be able to spectate
Nah, penalties for leaving casual matches would make no sense, especially since no such thing exists in other bigger games such as Battlefield, COD, CSGO, etc... It wouldn't make sense to add it to casual at all.

Played the past couple seasons but this season feels to me like one of the worse. weapon attachments haven't made a difference, shields still suck, not played damos but he doesn't seem anything amazing. The only good thing is there's slightly less hackers.
Just because some very popular games have leave penalties does not validate your argument, guess what I can find just as many that don't: Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Halo, Battlefield, Team Fortress 2. Also your acting like this is a solved issue in the games that have leave penalties in casual when those communities still argue over them being there, it took 1 google search to find people arguing over League. I can tell you from playing Destiny 2, both before and after it was implemented, it made no difference. I in fact had a game once where it became 1v6. I'm not going to even use the fact r6 has a habit of soft crashing mid game in between rounds as an argument, cause I don't need to. Punishing players for leaving doesn't actually stop them from leaving, so all you end up doing is stopping them from playing the game all together. And I don't think people that are for this system actually understand that all this ends up doing is pushing players away from ever playing the game again ever, this isn't good for the health of the game as a whole.

I've been slowly climbing the ranks in siege and only recently hit diamond after being stuck in emerald for a couple seasons and yet the actual diamond teammates I get in ranked (I know they are because charms and backgrounds) will TK, afk, throw, or look like they've genuinely never played siege before.
Once i hit emerald this season I have been playing so many more cheaters than usual, some blatant crazy stuff but more often it is some subtle walls or soft aim with hipfire. On top of going from gaining 65 elo per match to only 25 after very few games with a 2.0 win loss it is very annoying to play higher ranks anymore
Hi Varsity, wanted to get your word on a Console matter, so as you know mousetrap has greatly reduced mnk on console which worked well for a few months, but now all of the mnk players seem to be back. I had a chat with one in game chat, so they now abuse the remote play feature that PS4/5 have to keep on cheating, at what point will Ubisoft start banning these players? They cheat confidently and knowing they wont get banned. We do beat these players since they need cheats to win, but still ruins the ranked experience.

I’ve encountered implanted spies in my console lobbies before. Just recently I had a match go 4-4 and in the round he stayed rappelled while all of us enter the building to play. It is now a 1-5 and he is nodding in the motion of “no”. What the hell man.
its not even hard for Ubi to tell if someone is boosted or not, stat sites use to track who you queued with (no clue if they still do) but its clearly a metric Ubi stored in there API so Ubi knows who you queue with, make it a 10 game metric where if you queue with a cheater in a squad for 10 games or more and said cheater is banned, any and all accounts that meet the 10 game limit are banned at least for the duration of the season.
You are then unbanned for the next season BUT ranked its locked out for another season so effectively 2 seasons your acc is locked out from competitive lobbies
TBH alot of players who unknowingly played with cheaters would get banned also. Once made friends with the best closet cheater i've ever met but after like 2 months we discovered that he was cheating never seen him since we confronted him about it.
I stopped caring about this game just this season. I never really played ranked all that much, maybe 2-4 matches a season. This season, I was feeling really into it and played a lot. I queued up with a buddy who was in the same boat. As of writing this, we have only played together, we have the same KD, and we played about the same amount in previous seasons for ranked. We are consistently in emerald/diamond lobbies, yet I stopped making elo in high silver, and he is in mid Plat still making great headway. I would get it if maybe I actually played a lot in previous seasons compared to him but I played the same amount. Same case if he had a better K/D or even anything that would put him markedly higher, but at this point I lost interest. So disheartening to play the same matches with the same stats but be left in the dust due to some invisible number that I have no way of effecting. I'm debating making a new account just so I can possibly get a higher hidden MMR so I don't feel so disheartened in ranked matches.
This is why ranked 1.0 is needed, as annoying as it was playing higher ranks than what you are you’d lose less and gain a lot more if you won. And obviously you don’t play a lot of games, so placements would get you to that rank you deserve instead of having to grind your way up to it

I agree with the leave penalty, yesterday I had a quickmatch where my whole team all 4 guys were rotated 2 time until the end of the match. But I want to note it's not the end of the world I understand but it still ruins the match and not to mention when you just dont get a new player in.
I only abandon QM if it’s a shit map like night haven or lair. If they had goddamn map filters it would absolutely cut down on early match abandons. I don’t think QM needs a penalty for leaving at any point though, just give solo queuers an opt in option to fill mid match games for some extra reward and filling would be much more consistent.
Also U can't compare Valorant and LOL with R6, because every round in R6 is a 'fresh start'. V & LOL have economy across rounds/time that can't work as is, when a player just joins an ongoing match.
Ubi should allow a map avoidance filter, like back in the old days, just put a max amount of blocked maps to like 5 in place.

Casual shouldn't have a leaver penalty unless you're leaving almost every match. That's what overwatch does. You have to leave most of your matches before you get a penalty and I think that's fair. People who play casual are usually....casual players. It's not supposed to be tryharding. It's supposed to be just casual fun or try stuff. Many people that just wanna relax after work and play a few fun matches play casual because they can leave if they have to.

In CS I think any elo changes were reverted if a cheater was banned in a match. That would get rid of people paying for cheater boosts.

doesn't the new commendation system makes it so these boosted players do not get the rewards at the end of season due to being dishonorable after getting banned? Or is it just easy for them to play a couple games after the ban and get their commendation back to high enough for them to not be left out of the rewards?

@@_DMNO_ The rewards include any Ranked rewards at the end of season (background and charm) which is the driving factor into these people getting boosted.
As he said in the video (around 6-7min-ish) people just get boosted to champ by blatant cheaters and then the worst they get is a 2 week ban, then they come back from that and no matter what they do they've secured their champ border and charm with no real punishment.
imo getting a serious ban like that should AT LEAST lock you out completely of getting Ranked Border/Charms but right now I think these people can just play a bunch of normals and build the reputation back by just playing, which is pretty damn stupid imo.
Hey Varsity from my understanding, they no longer do that 15 day ban for being boosted by cheaters. I have seen people lose thousands of MMR but never actually have their rank reset. I haven't seen a ban for being boosted by cheaters since at least phantom sight

I have played with 4 silvers and just deleted the enemy team while just fucking about. not because i am good but just cause the enemies were a way lower rank.
I will stop leaving quick matches when Ubi quick match will make sense. As a Gold/Plate player, I don't understand why I should face a champ so I just leave when I see it's not going to be fun. I don't care to become better, I just want to have fun and have a chance to win.
I've found that if you just play the match out, it can sometimes be worth it.
I'm similar ranked and if you're Gold/Plat getting matched with Champs, they are probably very shit Champs.
Apparently that's what this whole big boosting problem is about. Lower skill players get into Champ rank, but they aren't Champ skill.
Try a little harder and they'll cry knowing they aren't as good as their rank says.

I don't really see a point in having abandon sanctions in casual. it makes sense in ranked, but not casual. Is it annoying af to have a teammate drop? Yes, is it the end of the world? No, not really. Some people have shit connections, some people have a real life, including kids, pets, work, etc. that require their attentions at the worst times. those people tend to stick to casual modes. Now if they had a means to ONLY penalize people whom regularly rage/troll leave games with these sanctions, then sure, it'd make sense. They've yet to demonstrate that they do have such capabilities, however, so it doesn't make much sense to have them for casual.
TL;DR: Casual is for normal people and noobs, stick to ranked if it bothers you that much. 🤷

Easiest way to make this harder by a landslide- dont let diamonds play with any rank below diamond, dont let emerald play with any rank beow gold, everyone else can play together. Now a booster needs 3 separate accounts to even get someone to diamond AND you can podibly ban him
It use to have a MMR cap, but they took it out so "we can play with friends" but all they need to do is just put them in lobbies with the highest MMR. I prefer the old system but the way it is now at least make it so you play at the highest skill in the squad. It doesn't fix shit 2.0 but at least it stops boosters, well you can still cheat boost but that's not going anywhere unless they get better anti-cheat. You cant boost off your 4 "copper" friends if you're put into lobbies of your highest friend. You'd have to all have the same rank level to get the easiest matches which means you're now just playing rank how its suppose to.
I have been solo queueing this week and been getting stuck with 5 stacks on the other team with 2 champs with a couple bronze/coppers and at least a plat in copper/bronze lobbies almost every match… the boosting in ranked lobbies makes the game borderline unplayable at times (for reference I’m a copper 4)
The problem is that not all of us are boosted,a lot of us just don't have dedicated teammates,my wiin rate is 4.6 and I'm gold.

I’ve been saying this for years especially since R6 tracker used to show who people have played with, how many games and if they’ve played with cheaters.
There is no way r6 tracker has that information but ubi doesn’t it’s absurd how obvious it is when someone has over 100 games with various banned cheaters but they won’t get banned for it
Also if they banned people for being boosted it wouldn’t just stop boosting it would affect the amount of cheaters in total, I believe a lot of cheaters do it because they make money from boosting

The reason people like the no penalty in QP is so when you're waiti8ng for your friends you have something to do and can leave at any moment without a penalty. QP isn't serious at all and at least my friends just go there to warm up or mess around as we take the other game modes more serious. I also don't care if my whole team leaves in QP as I don't care about what happens and I only use it to waste time waiting for my friends to get on, or to do stupid things without anyone getting mad.

on the abandoning matches topic for people who join in progress we need some kind of reward for sticking thought it a few days ago i was level 96 on the bp and it took me over 4 hours to finish the last 4 levels because i kept joining 0-2 or 0-1 games then losing i was barely getting any progress but then a friend got on we played 3 games full games and won and i got the last 2 levels done instantly there needs to be more punishment for leaving and for people who join they need some kind of reward for playing it out

I think casual or quick match should not have a leave penalty. I usually instantly leave a casual or quick match when there is toxic or sweat in my team. People might tell me to man up to take it, but I honestly don’t feel like wasting 20 minutes on a match that is mentally torturing. Casual is casual, if you don’t feel like it leave. If the sweat think i suck, I leave so I don’t be liability. As for standard, a one day penalty is enough as people do leave because life calls.

Boosting can be done by legitimate players but not in your described situation. It'd usually be 1 player with 4 smurfs sweating in low ranks, or players queueing with a cheater to boost their rank

Say I’m playing maestro and I’m way off site. I don’t want to make noise by getting off cams to check if I’m still safe. So I just spectate my teammates to check where enemies are if the cameras don’t give me enough intel.
This also would help tremendously if someone accuses a teammate of cheating, then you could just get on cams really quick instead of running out and dying to be able to spectate

Played the past couple seasons but this season feels to me like one of the worse. weapon attachments haven't made a difference, shields still suck, not played damos but he doesn't seem anything amazing. The only good thing is there's slightly less hackers.
Just because some very popular games have leave penalties does not validate your argument, guess what I can find just as many that don't: Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Halo, Battlefield, Team Fortress 2.
Also your acting like this is a solved issue in the games that have leave penalties in casual when those communities still argue over them being there, it took 1 google search to find people arguing over League.
I can tell you from playing Destiny 2, both before and after it was implemented, it made no difference. I in fact had a game once where it became 1v6.
I'm not going to even use the fact r6 has a habit of soft crashing mid game in between rounds as an argument, cause I don't need to.
Punishing players for leaving doesn't actually stop them from leaving, so all you end up doing is stopping them from playing the game all together.
And I don't think people that are for this system actually understand that all this ends up doing is pushing players away from ever playing the game again ever, this isn't good for the health of the game as a whole.
