I don't think that we should get a true target hog. Maybe someone capable of being a target hog, but not someone who is going to get the ball every single time. That is because we have some amazing weapons what can be used in an incredibly versatile way. The Bills were at their best last year when everyone was lined up, because it was impossible for an opposing defense to cover everyone. If we are loosing two relatively unproductive recievers, and keeping the players responsible for the most action for years to come, I think that we have every reason to be optimistic. Get a number one guy, someone with great talent, and draft a first round receiver, but we need to keep that versatility that this offense had last year under Brady. Joe Brady's creativity was what won against great defenses, while relying on Diggs being elite only won against bad teams (and lost against plenty of bad teams too). Remember, both Kincaid and Shakir have carried the team in receptions before, and Cook has also won us games. As long as Curtis Samuel proves to be better at actually catching the ball than Gabe Davis, and we draft a solid WR, we should be able to have that dynamic offense capable of beating teams in any number of different ways. I want to have an offense that can have some games where it finds one thing that works and just do the same thing over and over and win that way, and other games where we do not do the same thing twice and confuse the hell out of opposing defenses. If we can do that, we can win the Super Bowl!

It’s truly his DNA and he’s got the traits. Draft him or regret not drafting him. Kinda like letting TJ Watt slip to the lower part of round 1 when you just knew he was wired to be great. We passed on JJ Watt for Marcell Darius too. Some guys will do what’s necessary to be great. They’re also natural leaders. We had the Texans beat before JJ rallied them. If you have the opportunity, you get them. There’s going to be an opportunity and the bills need to find a way to get Luke. Brenden Rice will become a quality NFL WR too - and yet teams will continue to sleep on him.

Not only was Diggs performance decline making him not worth his paycheck, maybe we could have been ok with a slight under performance, but magnifying that even more is all the dead money that had been pushed forward into the future due to the challenges the Bills have had with the cap. A contributing factor is “getting creative” with restructuring contracts to free up cap space. It causes his value fall that much shorter of the weight of him being on the roster.

Temper expectations for 2024 Mafia. The Diggs subtraction is one of many the Bills needed to make to set up Josh allen for future success when the new stadium is open. Paying Diggs to leave was a necessary business decision for Terry to optimize revenues in the new stadium. Reading the tea leave, the moves Beane has made to get younger and cheaper is about 2025 and beyond. Accepting the 2nd rounder in 2025 is aligned with this approach. Thus, 2024 is a transition year. The Bills will stay patient, take the BPA in positions of need in this year's draft. It would be silly to trade up. In fact, I would not be surprised at all if the Bills traded back. The Bills are playing the long game. All moves made this off season suggest this.

I'd much rather have a top 40 pick next year than a 4th or something this year. He is a declining player getting paid top 5 money. Most teams aren't equipped to take that kind of salary on and even more are able to do so for a malcontent that still thinks he deserves 160 targets a year. This is by far the best you can do in that scenario.
