Quite a pile of corn silage my Friend. Poor ol Frank had a rough go of it this episode. Losing his watch, busting his glasses, lol. Take care my Friend
Where do get your energy! Even my Kentucky uncle's couldn't work that hard all day. I'm praying that God sends you and the boys a machine that cuts the field for you. I packed silage for a guy in Jonesboro Tennessee in the 1970s. He had dug a hole about 12 feet deep and it was about 25 feet out. It was ten feet across. It widened out to about 15feet across at the top. I packed down every load until it got 3 feet above ground. The tractor could have slipped and turned over so I quit and went home.

My mama actually put up watermelon jelly yesterday and has a lot more to go today. I actually wondered how that was going to work out I've been going to get a wood chipper myself and do silage here on the farm. I haven't got to find one it is in my price range yet but it be a whole lot cheaper than a silage Chopper. Keep on keeping on brother. Deer Seasons right around the corner too!
I wonder if you could use a sickle bar mower to chop down the corn and save some manual labor lol or maybe a battery powered hedge trimmer thanks for the videos and God bless
I've never done it, But I was thinking if you start a pile And then develop it into a ramp Maybe you could keep that tractor on it and pack it real tight
Have you ever thought about getting some Concrete Barrier Blocks to make you a silage bunker? The are about 2' x 2' x 6' and they also have corner blocks.
I wish I could answer your questions…. Basically 5 acres is what I think I’m chopping this year. But I’ve never done that much before and I’m not sure how long it will last. Right now I’ve got 6 out there, but 2 of them aren’t mine.
Friend, the next time you think about cutting footage for time's sake, consider those of us who haven't had anyone to teach us these things. I try to soak up everything you do like a sponge.
Frank lost his watch the beginning of load 20 Missing by 17:33 but had it when he was standing there at the beginning. Guess it's time to get a new watch. (Dad joke of the day.)
I just wonder if you could by using a garden tiller and placing several bags of portland cement down and mixing it and watering it to make a stable base to build a small base with used railroad ties for side walls and end wall for a small trench silo.
Man I wish somebody would do a porcelain jar lid. We've got platinum cured sili on now for the seals, which is pretty inert an no toxins, could actually have good food store with no chemicals.
You know with that much silage you might think about building yourself a small bunker for it as handy as you and them boys are it wouldn't be no trouble. I can't remember if you have a front end loader on your tractor but if you did you could use that to press your silage.
Hello have you ever thought about building you a wood frame smi. V shape to put the stuff in like you see on big farms. . great video. Love watching yall videos.
