Born in Maidstone, Kent , Russo began playing football at a young age in a family of athletes. Her father played non-league football for Metropolitan Police F.C. and is their record goal scorer. Her middle brother, Giorgio, has played non-league football for various teams, including Ramsgate. Her other brother, Luca, represented England in track and field at the under-20 level. I'm sure Mr Dorrance helped , but she was already a scoring machine before she ever went to the States. And the Tar heels were the best college team going , so playing on that team freed her up to score more. She is Englands second highest goal scorer ( in goals per game ) , in Europe , where its the tightest competition in the world.
