...and there it is. The goo we've been seeing in Sci-Fi movies for decades.
In the movies I'm pretty sure it's demonic substances. But yea it's really cool stuff.
Virtuosity (1995) IRL
Right? Wasn’t this the same goo for clones made in The Sixth Day?
Gray Goo destined to destroy the planet?
It was kind of predictable it would be some kind of goo tbh, the problem is "goo" basically doesn't constrain what chemical it is almost at all
Love how you just get the point, have chapters, and put links in the description. Favorite tech news channel.
First time seeing this channel and this is my exact thoughts.
Guys, the news here isn't the fact that they're printing into goo. As multiple people have pointed out, it's a sci-fi trope to have a printer use a suspension gel to avoid the need for support structures. The news is that friggin print quality. Look at the finish on those extruded pieces. Whatever they're pushing through that syringe extruder appears to be pure black magic!
Absolutely - I've preped several cars for spraying - that level of finish where you get a clean "light line" across the surface is normally a vast amount or sanding
Neutral buoyancy and high surface tension extruded material to smooth layer lines
"Pure" black magic? 🤔
This is one of the greatest examples of (TO GOOD TO BE TRUE)
Sci-fi was just a typo. The u and i keys are right next to each other. It was meant to be Sci-fu "Science of the future".
It's not a syringe extrusion. It is actually a print head from ViscoTec using the eccentric screw pump as core tech.
Oh yeah that's the good shit right there MMM YEAH KEEP IT COMING
Always appreciate your work, fan of this and NODE, hope you are ok buddy, website is still down and no updates.
Being honest I'm contemplating just having the YT channel only. When I look at the stats there are only a handful of people who use the website over the channel, and it costs me more time/money to keep it up.
@@MOSFETnet completely practical and understandable. Thank you for the update. Stay awesome brother.
OMG - First time on this channel and this is the first one I feel that is so condensed, that instead of 2x speed I need to put 0.75 to be able to follow. So great!!!
My favorite channel!
really enjoyed this video - a lot of info packed into a short video without useless artificial prolonging
I really like the style of you videos! Keep it up, glad to see you’re back!
Demolition Man, Ghost In the Shell, Bicentennial Man, AI, Wanted and Starship Troopers. All have this 3d printer and the goo. The future is here
This is incredible please keep making these I get more news from your videos on innovations then anywhere else on the internet
Seriously. We need some form of grant to be awarded to N-O-D-E and Two-Minute Papers in order to keep the populace informed.
I subscribed! From the comments, it seems like one of my better subscriptions this year.
Would love to see more on the goo printer. That looks like alien technology.
printing in goo opens a ton of new possibilities. Printing multiple parts and assembling them within the goo, to then be printed further upon. Printing multiple material types within the same goo, combining them to make parts with multiple materials. The goo also reduces shock and eliminates the need for supports...this is the future of this generation of 3d printers imo.
printing in goo is nothing new and not news here. But you did very good job of describing something obvious here. You should become a scientist, you are very smart
Amazing video, thanks for including so much !The RLP booth was amazing to see at FormNext in Frankfurt! Really awesome technology and part surface quality& properties!
Thanks for the video
It's my first time watching this channel. It's like the news but science I like it.😊
Technology is taking a serious leap the last few years
I'm so glad RUclips put you in my feed!!! Subscribed
I've been at Formnext and was stunned by the surface quality of rapid liquid print! The material control in combination with a ViscoTec eccentric screw liquid extruder is insane!
I'm just amazed that the disturbing of the gel is the extruder moves through it doesn't upset the layering.
How do they account for the random movement of the gel so that there are no missed spots
Awesome vid, always a pleasure to see a new MOSFET update
Glad you are back doing videos consistently man, I really missed this newsletter format you've created, Thanks!
Idk who replied to this comment and deleted the message saying "its just a vr voice reading news", yea I know, the format is still well curated and extremely interesting.
This is so cool!
Your vids never fail to excite me!
thanks for my daily dose of futurism
It's funny when I first heard of 3d printing at university in about 1995 - I imagined something more like this, but with a big life size cubicle :)
First tech news channel I've subscribed to in years. Keep it up.
“All the user has to do is remove the parts from the goo”
Me: Ew Gross, i dont wanna
Your content always fails to disappoint. Long term subscriber here, so I know what I'm talking about. Please keep quality coming our way! Much respect.
What a weird sentence
@@SpencerYonce a weird compliment
English as a second language? We usually don't emphasize disappoint in this way (subject), it makes it seem like the goal was disappointment. Instead we usually say 'never fails to impress'. :)
@@northofbrandon It was well thought through before posting, and surely worked as intended. Why would you instantly assume I am not a native is simply beyond my comprehension. Using language creatively usually captures attention, which it obviously did :) I personally do not care for how commoners use language, but thank you for the reminder to always strive to be better. Dare to stand out and cross a line or two of the ordinary.
@@DefianceFinance Your intention was to emphasize disappointment? Interesting PoV. 'Commoners' ? I tip my fedora to you, good sir.
Thanks for the updates
Love this channel!
Superb channel, thank you.
Finally, a RUclips channel where they pronounce emu correctly!
Love the content
This is amazing, looks like alien technology from a sci-fi movie, i love it! This will bring new possibility to the 3D printing process. The fast evolution of 3D printing tech always surprise me and we are still at dawn of this technology.
Keep up the great work, this is gold content!
awesome as always. What a time to be alive
Thats one of the most amazing tech news segments I've ever seen
Thank U
Fantastic video!
Super informative. Thanx
Great vid just subbed keep em coming 😊
damn I just found this channel. INstant sub
YES I knew the future of 3D printing in a Gel Solution!
i can’t tell if the voiceover is ai generated or not… the speech is literally flawless and i can’t hear a personality in the script
I’m pretty sure it’s AI. But it’s hard to tell.
I mean he's british. sooo...
That’s just british lol
@@gunide😂😂😂
i couldnt tell at first either but you can hear him taking breaths a couple times
Awesome as always mate
The first 2 was just in sci fi movies around 2 decades ago!
Just incredible.
And cue every sci-fi movie construction concept known to man. Good stuff.
impressed and entertained
Ya got a new sub, been wanting to local fabrication and game dev arts for some time. Thanks for the researches
best news video i have seen lately, not for the content as much as for the structure and approach
id argue for extra points awarded for the super Sci-Fi look
Sunday upload schedule is best. Hope you’re regular again!
Good stuff! Great video!
Now when can we expect the goo printer to arrive on doorsteps around the world? All kidding aside, nice presentation, clear and concise (and interest grabbing). Thank you for the time and presentation. Well done.
Great little channel, just subscribed. Nice mixture of the latest tech and science.
I knew this would be the future. Fluid dynamics and nanotechnology to design and build everything and anything. I wanted to go to school to learn these subjects, but never did.
I remember reading about that first 3d printer (printing into the goo). So cool someone made it into a product.
That's it! If it's real life sci fi, instant subscribe
Dudes hardcore, knows his tech
The news about 3D printing in gel and polymers in one go looks like the Westworld intro.
If you think resin printing is messy, just imagine handling that goo printer!
The removal of the need for post processing mitigates a lot of the issues of resin.
Mad science. Very interesting, to say at least.
Wow, you are not dead! Great to see you back. I was wondering what happened to your website and channel. Tell us if we can help you continue creating
Good work no waffle and to the point
Mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯
EXCELLENT VIDEO you got a sub
Yeah we’re definitely in the future
Wow, really nice news presentation! This is the first time I've come across your channel. Thank you!
Also, clearly spoken and enunciated. I'm an English teacher and I'm looking for videos that I can share with my students. I'll definitely be sending them to watch your videos!
That's cool dude, thanks for watching :)
The voice is AI generated, surprised that nobody is mentioning it.
Yup that style of printer was on the space station not too long ago, probably still up the
nice
3:55 that teddy bear makes me think we're getting closer to SCP-1048....
Wow! This is amazing. Thanks for sharing this awesome news. I wonder what other neat tech humans will develop :)
I swear I saw something like this decades ago. It was a vat of a gooey, or waxy substrate, and lasers were being shot into it.
This is very dystopian
Finally Goo!
wow the lenses DIY home kit style culture could grow and might mean there are some boutique style affordable lenses... might be an interesting community
Cloning is next, now that we have an “amniotic fluid” for it.
That is the very goo that out robot master will ‘emerge’ from.
I love that now we've come to the point where if you need a new arm or lenses, you just get a box with a printer and an iphone app.
So that's how they made the synthetic people in Westworld! Cool!
Mate, amazing project on the 3d printed optical lenses. Do you think it would be hard to add specific wavelength filters using a film deposition method? Then you can also make dichroic for photometry systems (like those in Thorlabs)
Ah yeah, that Ghost in the Shell introductory part.
I do hope the goo printer doesn't mess with plumbing
Looks like the intro for Westworld
Some incredible things here man! New subscriber ✌🏻
Thanks Jon, I appreciate it :)
@@MOSFETnet no worries! :)
“Strange goo” is very obviously the correct way to produce future technology 😂
3d printed lens wow
That 3D printer is amazing and revolutionary. that print quality, printing SILICONE, no support structures or touching up needed, the new tech and manufacturing technology?
Rensselaer is my alma mater, and I started out in biomedical engineering! Imagine if I hadn't switched into computer science after two years at university, I could have been involved in the research mentioned here! 😂
This is some WestWorld level stuff :P
Finally, Darkman can leave his hiding place.
Anybody else get the chills listening to this?
Which part the silicone printing or the pass-through Quest 3?
someone saw ghost in the shell and was like... "I bet I can make that"
So this is how the future humanoid robots we'll be printed...
MOSFEEEEEEET WOOOOO🎉🎉
Do they do Miniatures? We finally may be able to replace toxic resin and filament printing.
I think the gooey 3d printer is impressive, especially with what it can do.
WOW 2:53 onwards got so interesting
This is like a baby version of a Blade Runner street market.
