  • Alex Murdaugh’s brother, John Marvin, testified that he tracked down his sister-in-law’s phone without police after learning that the device was missing after she was murdered. John Marvin claimed he showed investigators the location of Maggie’s phone using Buster's “Find My iPhone” app before going to search without them.

Why does everybody think his actions are suspicious? It's a murder mystery and he's family. I would want answers too. He got the ok from the police captain that he could be there and that they already had everything they needed. He wanted some understanding. It's not weird in a state of grief that he felt he had to clean up his nephews' remains because nobody had to decency to. He wanted answers. It was obvious at that point Maggie's phone hadn't been found. Any normal person that knows about find my friends would have pointed that out and tried to track it.

“Always?” Uhhh, well…sometimes people telling the truth are under duress for other reasons than guilt, or they are simply forgetful when they first give their account. Later on, they recall something they had forgotten. I do that every day. If I’m asked about my day’s happenings, I don’t remember all details and sometimes I will remember something that I had overlooked, later down the road. But what truth DOES normally result in, is a story that doesn’t CHANGE materially over time. Small details may still change with increased recollection, but the primary points of the story do not change significantly.
