John Marvin claimed he showed investigators the location of Maggie’s phone using Buster's “Find My iPhone” app before going to search without them.

Why does everybody think his actions are suspicious? It's a murder mystery and he's family. I would want answers too. He got the ok from the police captain that he could be there and that they already had everything they needed. He wanted some understanding. It's not weird in a state of grief that he felt he had to clean up his nephews' remains because nobody had to decency to. He wanted answers. It was obvious at that point Maggie's phone hadn't been found. Any normal person that knows about find my friends would have pointed that out and tried to track it.

“Always?” Uhhh, well…sometimes people telling the truth are under duress for other reasons than guilt, or they are simply forgetful when they first give their account. Later on, they recall something they had forgotten. I do that every day. If I’m asked about my day’s happenings, I don’t remember all details and sometimes I will remember something that I had overlooked, later down the road. But what truth DOES normally result in, is a story that doesn’t CHANGE materially over time. Small details may still change with increased recollection, but the primary points of the story do not change significantly.
People who are telling the truth ...repeat the same story. People who are LIEING. ..can't keep their lies straight cause they are not based on memory, & experience, & they tend to add on as needed...leading to multiple versions of their story.

Except every one of those adults was equally culpable for getting onto a boat being driven by a drunk. They each made the poor personal choices that they did, not to mention they'd already nearly collided w/the Woods Swing Bridge, earlier in the night (aboard the boat) on their way to go bar hopping before they all re-boarded the boat which then crashed.
Any adult who knowingly chooses to get into any mode of transportation w/a drunk at the wheel has no one but themselves to blame.

Even in the case where deleted information cannot be recovered, forensic analysis will tell you if items have been deleted and what kind of items they were. I can't imagine this wasn't done (well maybe with this shoddy investigation).

It sounds like the crime scene had been released back to the family by then. They don’t shut the area down for weeks. They take a ton of photos, comb the area for evidence, and pack up and leave.

🚩Alex didnt take Paul's cell phone ☎️ cause he DID NOT KNOW PASSWORD. He would have if he knew password like he knew Maggie's.
I think the reason Alex admitted to touching Paul’s phone (claiming it fell out when he rolled Paul over), and to rolling Paul over, is because he was trying to use Face ID (by pointing it at Paul’s face) to unlock it. If he could get the phone unlocked, he could delete video and text messages that he didn’t want authorities to see, but Paul’s face was too badly distorted to be recognizable by Face ID.
I thought about that I think everything happened so fast with Paul and he had to get Maggie right afterwards that he left it behind he remembered when he got back and and try to unlock it and could not there was no fast easy way to get rid of it.. he was already pushing the timeline

When you have absolute power over every stakeholder, on both the good bad side of the spectrum, especially when your from a family of law. You would know how to contaminate, and ensure the case get’s derailed. There’s more upside to not get justice for the death. SLED is definitely incompetent in terms of performing a true investigation utilizing all person's, applications, and other utilities available to solve a crime. The agents who refused to initially hunt for the phone should be fired for their incompetence.

That’s not how it happened. He’s painting a picture of himself because his brother drew him into the circle of suspects. He’s saving himself with this testimony, although defense is trying to paint a picture of shoddy law enforcement investigation, it speaks more of family intimidating law enforcement and playing on their sympathies.
I think the whole family is corrupted by the power and influence of their ancestors, and have willingly used that power for their own benefit. They all know and have evidenced what and when to do what it takes to protect each other. Convicting a clever and calculating attorney of murder with a long history of family power and influence is proving to be a mountainous task. The jury has a huge task ahead of them. You give permission for someone else to see your phones location in advance. That’s how my daughter tracks me. We’ve given each other that permission on the app for safety reasons.
My father's brother was a screw up. For years he bailed him out, paid his debts, being a loyal family man. But he eventually cut all ties with him even though it broke his heart. I suspect this family and group of loyal friends will tire of all the pain and sacrifice and cut all ties too. That's when Alex will truly begin his life sentence.

I was thinking same thing. If it was a family plan it still would have to be activated on each phone correct and each phone could locate the other one. And the find my phone app you would need the email and password and location to be on the phone being located.

The brother went up there and did just what he was supposed to do defend his brother 😮 however, the amount of leeway this family got is absurd! They were in the middle of the crime scene they got to disrupt evidence, in the boat accident they were able to coerce witness this is bizarre.
