earlier this year people online were complaining about McDs fish shrinking. I thought they were crazy! Looked the same to me. Well 2 weeks later I get a fish, son of a gun it had shrunk!!! My town was behind on the shrinking is all. The not so big mac has been looking smaller. Wasn't sure if it was me. I ordered a small fry. Man, there weren't many fries in the bag. Thought it was a fluke, so next time I got another small fry. Wasn' t a fluke. The amount of tartar sauce has shrunk quite a bit. I always order extra & it just seems like a regular amount of sauce now. Other than breakfast I have given up on the House of Clown.

What I’ve also noticed that differences in fast food prices depends on where you live! Prices in northern states (I’m in NC) cost much more - along with gas - than what we pay down here - I don’t go to Mickey D’s for food but I can read an online menu!

I too, used to eat at these places all the damned time but since covid and inflation, I've had to stop because I can't afford it anymore.
Silver lining though, is I've really honed up my cooking skills and learned to get creative with basic ingredients and now I enjoy making a really nice dinner at home.
It's to the point now that even if prices dropped again, I don't think I'd go back. I just don't like these places anymore and I don't care at all for the eating out experience. Me and the missus have our date nights at home where we take turns whipping up something interesting and Sunday brunch at home is a thing we both look forward to all week. We share everything from the prep to the clean-up and most of the time, just in our PJs!
And you can't believe the money we save!!

They are NOT price gougers it's the orchestrated erosion of the USD we are enduring.
When was the last time you saw the price on anything decrease?
The USD is backed by nothing but a promise, a "big stick" and is $36T under water = inflation is the consequence until its final demise.

I remember when the Big Mac was about 50 cents, the fries cost almost as much.

Went to Wendy's recently. Hadn't been for ages. Ordered a junior bacon cheeseburger and small fries. It cost $10.

Wendy’s used to be the jam ! I miss the days of appropriate food pricing. Now it’s so expensive and isn’t the same anymore.

These businesses don't see past their stockholders. They're forgetting who their bread and butter is. Their actions say, "Screw our customers. They'll pay whatever we charge." It'll be nice to see these chains go under.

Love the cooking demo. If you're going for optimal freshness you can also freeze the English muffins and reheat them on the griddle. McDonald's is simply a mental shortcut, because you don't have to think about obtaining ingredients, but if you get in the habit of doing some meal planning you can have egg muffins for a week with minimal cost and effort. I can have a burger and fries ready in fifteen minutes. Active cooking time is probably seven minutes, but i say fifteen because i put frozen fries in the air fryer. Third pound beef patty, sirloin, from Costco on a ciabotta roll also from Costco. Can't get that at McDonald's. Aldi seasoned fries are bomb too.

We've been cooking at home the majority of the time for more than a decade now. With 3 teenaged boys, there are lots of ways to fill them up with good, solid and healthy food with known ingredients and no added chemicals or sugars. Restaurant food is often fried in cheap seed oils, not butter, lard or avacado oil. We noticed a while after we got married, neither of us had any gumption, slower brain function, weight gain for both of us, and a bunch of other negative things. After a bit of deliberation, we decided to eat like my immigrant parents did; higher animal and fish fats, much lower carbs and tiny amounts of sugar. Problem solved - we have added intermitent fasting and increased the benefits. Cheers
