Grommet Installation Hack!
An alternative to punching holes for grommet installation in thick canvas material that saves a lot of heavy, hard hammering, effort, and time.
After watching several grommet instruction videos, I came up with my own “grommet surgery” method which was just a lot faster, easier on the hands and joints (especially if you don’t have good hammer aim, save those poor thumbs!).
All you need is the standard grommet kit with grommets, a hammer, and an exacto or box-cutter knife. Work with good light so you can see what you’re doing, especially if working with smaller holes. The grommets shows here are 3/8” inch.
