Very nice! And yeah, this place was very "cozy", haha! Similar set up as 9:30 & The Atlantis, but much smaller. And the sound system was a little "challenging".
Did you see L.A. and Chicago in person? Or if on vid, somewhere on YT? Was at the NY show, and thanks to sahwin for D.C. and Philly. Want to see the other two!
I've been looking for the full shows of LA or Chicago too. I've only seen a few songs and/or clips of songs so far. Hopefully someone captured them and will upload soon!
The irony of them is they specialize in a form of Britpop that America roundly ignored 30 years ago. But, you know, you've always spent a lot of time catching up. We will let you know when you've got there.
'On your side' into 'where is my mind' was incredible 😮 i would love to hear the Dire Straits cover, could you please upload the video again on a platform that wont censor
@@TunaNSweetcorn Yeah, the WIMM version was really cool. They only did it a few times at some other shows back then so I feel like we were rather fortunate that night. The band used playback of the actual Money For Nothing as their outro music. I uploaded just that part for another attendee of this show here: ruclips.net/video/xT9Ssiffy1g/видео.htmlsi=WBlDdYRwACMi9YSn
They're like Wet Leg in being girl-centric and in having good material. But totally unlike them in having a super-professional sound, songs, and image. WL's appeal is that they're like The Band Next Door, if The Band Next Door were cute, funny, and very British. You could imagine lending Wet Leg's drummer a wrench set to fix their hunk-a-junk van, then having them invite you over to hear a shambolic rehearsal at which half the band had smoked way too much pot. That is much harder to imagine for Last Dinner Party, who are more like some good mid-level Seventies act who stepped through a time machine.
love it or hate it but there's def some Swedish Pop in there. Some of the songwriting, specifically Feminie Urge, has some serious ninja skills in the songwriting sense. Max Martin anyone?
Go Emily!!!!! Another brilliant and entertaining gig. Thanks for uploading! Abigail surely has a future career ahead of her as a panellist on Never Mind the Buzzcocks! I just got my ticket for the Liverpool Q&A at Jacaranda on 10 December so will upload highlights to my channel if I can. 😀
Sadly, it was just a quick meet & greet but the band were all super-friendly! They confirmed that the walk-on music is Prelude to Ecstasy and that another UK tour next year is currently being finalised. I suggested a warm-up gig in Cornwall (as Alan says no-one ever plays there). Abigail & Georgia liked this idea, so you never know! St. Ives is lovely!
Hard to get tickets here in the uk for their up coming shows in the uk,except at inflated prices, and not even then . They are brilliant, a fab combo of originality, fab singers and good looks .
Sign up for their email list if you haven’t already as they send out info for presale. They also update if additional tickets, upgraded venue or additional dates are being added.
I loved hearing this! Apple Music has the audio & video for it, but unfortunately, the video part is not available in the US. Hopefully we'll get it soon.
@@alanadams7071 Yes! I just saw it on their YT channel. Admittedly, I don’t know much about The Brits. I looked up an article and it is very impressive. (I’d post a link, but they always get deleted by the mods.) I’m still in awe of that. Elton John!
did you happen to film more of the end? georgia gave me her set list at the end of the show and i was wondering if you perhaps caught more of the end then what was uploaded here? nonetheless thank you for capturing this awesome concert!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have that as I know I had to cut off the end pretty quickly once their outro music started playing due to copyright issues. I've been having some "technical difficulties" lately. Once I figure that out, I'll see if I can add that part for you.

Did you get to see the two NY shows as you planned? How did it compare to the two Autumn shows.? The venues weren't as intimate but I'm guessing there was also a different type of audience too.
Yeah, I made it to both, but barely. I had a horrible Monday night and almost didn’t go. I got some vid from each that I’m trying to put up, but the one keeps getting flagged. And I didn’t get the full set from the first show unfortunately. The band was great! The drummer for both shows was Dai Azar and she is fierce & thunderous; a real “heavy hitter”! I love watching drummers and she was fantastic. A few kinks here & there, but that’s expected considering I think she just started playing with them. That also could be why the band played slightly shorter sets each night? We got Second Best & Godzilla at the first show. They did Big Dog at the second. The audience was very enthusiastic. Lots of dressing up & singing! You can tell the fandom is getting much more dedicated. Those shows last Oct & Nov seem to have more people there to “see what the buzz was about”. These two shows were filled with full on fans.
So glad you were well enough to go in he end. Would have been a massive bummer to miss out. Seeing them in October in Liverpool. Can't wait. Looking forward to seeing your videos if you manage to upload them. Presume you had a decent spot then. Yeah I really like the drummer too. She's a very talented lady. In addition to being a multi instrumentalist and music writer, she produces too. There's a RUclips clip (think it's the NY gig) of Abigail applauding her at the end of Godzilla. There's also a really cool RUclips video of your favourite, Burn Alive, I think from the Boston gig. It was uploaded by her drumstick sponsors. Just search Daiana Azar TLDP and you should find it. Yeah it looks like their music is starting to find it's intended target. Actually made up for the band, you can see they're having an absolute ball. @@sah-win
