Very well done film! Definitely opened my eyes to the snow scene over there and relatable on many levels from the pandemic, climate change, and dealing with super variable conditions. Also excellent job with portraying the passion you all have for skiing and getting after it on less than ideal days.
For those wanting to ski up in Scotland I will say this type of snow is very rare and honestly, planning anything more than a week out is rarely going to pay off. Most of us are checking webcams and forecasts the night before we decide to go up anywhere. Skiing in Scotland CAN be fantastic, but it's lucky if you get it.
You guys have done Scotland proud with heart felt narrative and big screen worthy footage of our mountains and the challenging weather conditions. Brilliant shots of black spout descent and Glencoe and great to hear about some of the work SAIS do. Thank you everyone, really enjoyable.
Just stumbled across this movie while watching other snowboard and ski movies, mostly old MSP and Mack Dawg movies. It's not BC, AK or the alps, nor it is Eero Ettala and Tanner Hall, but in terms of skiing shots, the mood you set and story telling you guys have made an absolute great job! Top notch! Already looking forward to the skiing season! (hopefully with better conditions than last year) cheers from Switzerland
Hi Philip, I really appreciate your comment. I hear you, it's by no means a Travis Rice piece. However like you said, we tried to dive pretty deep into the story telling which I am happy to hear you picked up on and enjoyed. Have a great winter! Cheers
@@charlie_wood_filmmaker Just to clarify: i really like the skiing. All of you guys are probably better skiers than me. Yet it is also more relatable than watching some of people mentioned before. I wil never be able to ski those classic AK lines or throw a double cork into a powder landing. A ski movie also does not need it, if the shots are well done and the skiing is smooth. Again, great job!
Skiing in NZ can be just like this. At Craigieburn we claim to have the most variable snow in the world. It's always worth going eh!!! Great movie thanks!!!
What a season you had on the east coast in 2021. We had it good in the Lakes, but not that good. Well done for keeping it real folks and looking forward to this season and what it might bring ⛷🎿
Fantastic filmmaking. Hey, I’m an American Golf Architect planning on moving to Scotland for a year, looking for skiing and filmmaking buddies to meet. I have a feeling we’d get along! East Coast skiers have the same level of optimism :)
this was a great movie! very impressive. The NE face of Stob Coire Nan Lochan looks not unlike a lot of our springtime lines around here. I looked it up on Google Earth and it looks like a solid descent. It is wild, though, the elevation difference. I guess being that far north is the great equalizer....
A truly amazing place to ski or just visit the Scottish people are amazing ❤️. This video mentions many times about climate change, there is no climate change but whats really happening sadly is our sky above us is being poisoned with chemicals that kill and our sun is being blocked out. At 46.36 on this video there clearly shows a chemtrail (not a condensation trail) there is no climate change but psychopaths ( WHO, UN, WEF) that are ruining this truly amazing beautiful planet for power and greed. The lord truly had a great day when he made Scotland it truly is a very special place ❤️🙏🏻
Stupid covid was the biggest bullshit that a world government set us up for failure. So glad you were able to ski! Me and my family did not stop either!!
Great video. Don't worry about the climate, man or CO2 has nothing to do with it. We're at the end of a natural warning period likely heading into an ice age. There's been record snowfall around the world (not reported) and getting worse. Trouble with Britain is being influenced by Atlantic weather can be volatile. However we had a recent winter which didn't end until beginning of June. Again played down. Watch this space..
Great video, I just wish skiing was more accessible throughout Scotland.

This is epic. Topped off well with the Dark Island!

Incredible film. Oscar worthy and done just as a passion project. Hats off!
OMG! This is like Backcountry Skiing in the Cascades & Olympics in WA! Great Story!

This is an excellent film, however it does make me question. Why do UK tax payers, fund for army personnel to essentially ski for 6 months ?
haha! bloody good question. And thank you for the kind words 🙏
