From Hard Rock/AOR Heaven:
Extraordinary vocalist Gary Barden left the Michael Schenker Group at their peak of its popularity in 1984, aiming for solo career. He spent some time auditioning musicians for his back-up band and composing new material.
The opportunity of a record deal arrived next year, but the label wanted a real band, with Barden as frontman. So he called long time friend drummer Bruce Bisland from the very good hard rockers Wildfire to join in, who also suggested his bandmates.
Soon STATETROOPER born with Gary Barden at the mic and the full Wildfire crew at charge of the instruments.

De hecho como dato un ex miembro de Iron Maiden (Dennis Stratton) formó una banda de AOR en 1984 que se llama "Lionheart" y sacaron un disco ese año llamado "Hot Tonight" y además Iron Maiden hizo un cover de la canción "That Girl" de la ya legendaria banda inglesa de AOR "FM".
Si, precisamente Adrian Smith es quien tiene conexion con gente de FM. Inclusive, el proyecto de Steve Harris (British Lion) se acerca un poco al AOR, en algunos temas. Saludos!! @@loupblanc99

This band should have been the break through for steve johnson ( RIP ). I was phoned by steve one Saturday to get down to " the bell " pub on Caledonian rd near kings cross station as Steve had no guitar roadie for a demo gig they did there that night. They did 3 songs if i remember correctly. One was an instrumental called " rudi and the zipps "another was "hot days" i remember the drummer being bruce bisland who i believe later joined SWEET. The keyboard player im sure was called Steve who originally played in a Doncaster based club band called dragonfly. I remember him playing in a band on the tv show THE TUBE. Steve johnsons brother FASKER also had a brief entry into the band. He also played in SAXON. Both had great success in a well known cover band called GUNS N OATCAKES. This is a good album im surprised it didnt do much better.

One of the best rock albums ever made. Who cares if it was just a collection of polished demos, every song is fantastic. 10/10
Unfortunately, they also reformed and released The Calling - that was terrible.

Es que es hard melódico británico. El canal se llama AOR WORLD pero junta todas las variantes del género: soft rock, hi-tech, hard melódico, west coast, etc... AOR WORLD es un concepto genérico.

I bought this album when it was first released and I've always thought it was one of the best albums ever i have since got it on CD and play it a lot .

They were all English. Mainly from the south of England. The keyboard player is or was from Doncaster ( north England)
and this the period where 80s hard rock started to lose its balls and uniqueness in America. Up until 1985 80s hard rock was heavy with a sort of post apocalyptic look and feel. Europe hard rock was doing more of a medieval thing
Wrong, thousands of great albums from 85-90 . Don't know what rock you were hiding under .
