The look on his face when we couldn't get a 3rd and 4th and one this year said it all. Was not happy with the lack of attitude and aggression. Grubb should go back to college or the CFL.😊
Then go draft a Quenton Nelson or Zack Martin type, but they won't because John believes offensive linemen drafted in the first round are overpaid. If the men up front can't move the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and short, is that the OC's fault? Now the standard has been set: help your team win 10 games but if you your run game scheme is disliked by the head coach, you still risk getting fired. If Mike like's his OC's run game scheme next season but they miss the playoffs, does he fire that OC too? The defense that he called this season got gashed on a lot of pivotal plays that led to a loss, yet he wasn't going to resign. Special teams couldn't cover a kick or punt all season! But he didn't fire the ST coordinator.

Mike Macdonald is our HC. I think he'll fix this team moving forward, and it's scary cause you're giving Mike a full offseason with those defensive players 🥶.... Mike actually likes Geno, which isn't a problem, but what can we change on offense that'll legitimately make Geno a better QB? No matter what coordinator comes in, Geno is still gonna be pulling the trigger. It's hard for me to see a Geno 2.0. He's not getting any younger, and if we pay him all of that money, which we can use for some offensive interior. I just don't see a way we can win with him at QB. If there was any chance of a Geno Smith progression, we would've seen it after that bye week. It seems as if Geno learned literally nothing. Don't give me that bull crap about the o line, Geno has had plenty of time to throw the ball this year. All those 3 n outs, Geno smith overthrowing our WR's, We can't get anything going, Geno taking unnecessary sacks. I'm done with all of that. Any young QB gives us a winning chance rather than us keeping Geno and he just gets worse and worse to the point where we won't even have enough wins to make the playoffs, forget a team dictating our terms. Can we win games? And beat divisional rivals.. If he pays geno that money, our chances of getting some interior lineman with that money will be shot to hell, and the chances of us resigning most of the players will be slim. Geno just hit his incentives, and he's gonna want a long-term 45-50 deal. That's too much to be paying him. He's not going for a short-term 35-40 deal. He's already making 25 or 30, I think. But we need to let him go and start fresh, building a foundation is about making tough decisions and going back to the drawing board. Start fresh. You got rid of the cancer that was on our defense. Dodson and Baker. He got rid of Grubb, and people wanted him gone. Just get rid of Geno, and then you've started fresh heading into your 2nd year. We have really good talent on offense. Extend DK and potentially draft a WR or trade for one to locketts position. Our defense will be a nightmare next year. Losing Geno will not put us at any risk. The offseason really hasn't started yet. We have a headstart. We're good. Let Geno go, I wanna start winning games and competing. I wanna go 3-0 knowing damn well in the back of my head that my team worked hard to get those 3 wins, not just settled for it, and said thank you. When I see teams like Detroit, Bills, and GB, those are the teams that have been working their ass off. People wrote Josh Allen off in the 2023 season. The next thing you know, he's an MVP candidate. Jordan Love coming off an injury, playing hurt, and still balling out (he's a killer, dude wasn't even an MVP candidate. We need someone like him and geno, ain't it), Detroit offense together is just a juggernaut, but them boys have been blowing teams out, and they have a good defense. It wouldn't surprise me to see them in the SB. I want us to be that scary team, and Mike will make it happen. I want them to be smart about the next decision.
I wasn't thrilled about Grub but was optimistic. Fact of the matter is, he ran a college offense in an NFL league. Remember when Chip Kelly did that? It probably caught bad teams off guard this year (basically all our wins came from teams with losing records) but next year it would've IMPLODED. You can't run a passing game 90% in the shotgun with the 2nd fewest rushing attempts in the league, while calling plays at the LOS after a no huddle, and having barely any run design for short yardage situations outside of a goal line look. It was absolutely horrific to watch by the 2nd half of the season.. The OL was bad... granted, it wasn't great (although Cross is a top 5-10 LT)... but would it shock ya to know that Darnold also had basically the same # of sacks taken this year? With a run game that averaged about a whole yard more? Offense has to operate with a level of discipline, understanding, and consistency within the NFL (the talent gap is MASSIVELY closed vs. college). You can't really 'make it up' as you go... Defenses also have to play by those same rules but they have an opportunity to make up for it more with athleticism and scheme. In the NCAA basically good offenses just outclass everyone with athleticism and 'talent'. That doesn't work in the NFL and it's VERY obvious Grubb was trying to do that. Wish Grubb the best, but an NFL OC he is not, at the moment.
I believe John Schneider deserves a WORLD Of Praise for hiring Mike MacDonald (a 'homerun' for sure). I also think draft picks like Byron Murphy, Tyrice Knight, AJ Barner were great picks too! Also extending BigCat into 2024 and finding Ernest Jones was brilliant too (hint resign/extend Ernest for sure). Tip of the cap to John for all of these. Seriously. However, I would have been WAY more happy with just signing coach MacDonald AND improving the Oline. Christian Hayes at #3...sorry UConn is not on the top of my list for earth shattering talent or competition. Maybe he will improve in 2025, but I am not betting on it. Coach Grubb got fired. If this is something Coach Mike wanted, then I am fine with that too. But if this was really something that John Schneider wanted, and the Oline does NOT improve in 2025, then John needs to go. John I will gladly apologize if you improve the Oline(I think there are tons of fans who think this way too). But one more year of Oline play like this John would be inexcusable. Sorry to be so critical. But Pete wouldn't change his secondary coverages...had to go. Grubb didn't pound the rock enough, ok has to go (I disagree though). But finally, If John won't improve the Oline...has to go. Sorry for being so wordy. Go Hawks! P.S. Thank you Mike for coming to Seattle. I think you will be able to build a legacy here if management gives you what you need. My first football memory is Hank Stram's 1969 Chiefs beating MY Vikings team in the Super Bowl (the first of four Vikes Super Bowl losses that I have endured, lol. The players are buying into what you have been cooking up. Now convince John to give you some quality Oline guys. Can't wait for 2025!

I agree with firing oc he had his best game over the cardinals his playing calling was great then he went away from that the next few games it was like what the hell are you doing.
Cross is quietly a top 5 tackle and we should absolutely lock him down for long term. He had a stellar, A- season. He’s great, not yet elite but still so young and growing.

Marcus Brady San Diego Chargers for OC. NFL OC experience and lots of NFL experience. Jim Harbaugh liked him enough to make him apart of his intial staff in LA.
why do people think coaches are gonna keep moving from team to team without upgrading there position lmao i think we have way too many average football fans giving out opinions without actually knowing football
Mike inside of him wants seahawks to play bullie ball like the ravens defense. Seahawks need to draft C GUARD TACLKES. DEFENSE LINEBACKERS Safety Defensive tackle .
To play complimentary ball, a team needs all 3 phases to work in positive fashion. Should it fall on the offense to dictate that? If Grubb was criticized for when the team didn't have a great offensive performance in a game, that seemed like a fair criticism but if the special teams sucked or the defense sucked in a game, the criticism still fell to Grubb, which in my opinion is unfair to him. Nobody else on staff got fired, yet I don't recall the defense or special teams playing consistently well throughout the season. The difference in making the playoffs came down to a play or two, so if they did make the playoffs, how would that have changed Mike's assessment of Grubb's coaching? Would he still have fired Grubb at the end of the season? The difference of one or two plays wouldn't have altered Mike's view of the offense and how it was managed. I just think that it was too harsh of a reaction to a situation involving a first time head coach, first time DC, first time OC and first time ST coord. For a brand new staff, heck they won 10 darn games. Mike said he is fired up for the future and that they've built a good foundation moving forward. Did Grubb not contribute towards the building of that foundation? Now the message to the coaching community is if you consider yourself to have the ability to be a play caller and you're interested in this job, be sure you run the ball more effectively (regardless of how inadequate your offensive line is performing), because it won't matter if you help the team to win 10 games, you're still at risk of getting fired. He has set the standard: help the team win 10 games but not run the ball effectively or at least to the liking of your boss, then you get fired.
Lets get our Hawks start working out 🏋♂️ 🚴 🏊♀️ to get strong and competitive. Lets get O-Line at Free agency, and draft a quarterback and a defensive end Tyler Batty from BYU.
Man, i see mental pain in the future .....mental pain that other teams are going to feel playing our Seahawks. LOB gunna be jealous. Note: i notice mikes right shoulder looks longer than his left lol weight lifting issue.
I want MM to suceed like everyone else but he just is not convincing me in his speech or body language that we are going to do "some damage" next season only to my nervous system. The division was up for grabs this season with the 49ers struggling ( that wont happen to often)and we just do not produce anymore when crunch games come along. PS What do I see with Metcalfe ?? A big baby who supposed to be a clutch player but somehow never produces in clutch situations...but thinks he should be on clutch $ .🤔
Theres plenty of blame to go around..the Defense wasnt good for many games. 7 losses gave up over 28 ppg. On avg. As for Walker? Hes no better than Rashaad Penny to this point?
7-10 next year. This wasn't Macdonalds defense, it was still Carrolls. Again this year, no one on the D could tackle until mid-way in to the season, and the talent that was there are all leftovers from Carroll. Seattle has once again found a Penney. when he plays he is great but is never healthy. On the plus side is Charbonnet played brilliantly. Everyone is down on Smith, Lockett, and Metcalf, but Seattle has done nothing to help the O line. Yes they drafted a few and got some players of from free agency. The O line is probably the most affected by injury and since the trade for Graham seattle has done little to give the O line depth. Everything was there for the offensive coordinator except for the O line, and Grub paid the price for it. On the plus side, Seattle will once again draft more D players this spring and try to fill holes on offence with free agency so seattle will be in the exact same spot next year or worse. I highly doubt seattle will be at 10 wins again for a while. Hope they prove me wrong
Stabbed in the back? He was lucky to have coached the team for those many years in spite of being in mediocrity. Look at Doug Pederson. Won Super Bowl in 2018 and got fired in 2020.
Americans really need to learn the difference between convicted and conviction. As a Brit, it throws me off every time I hear someone use them incorrectly.

I agree with firing oc he had his best game over the cardinals his playing calling was great then he went away from that the next few games it was like what the hell are you doing.
Mike McDonald sounds kind of like what Russell Wilson would sound like if he was a coach.
Coachhh
Beside Cross the OL are backups at best
Cross uh back up to..
Cross is quietly a top 5 tackle and we should absolutely lock him down for long term. He had a stellar, A- season. He’s great, not yet elite but still so young and growing.
Omg did u watch cross get burned all season
@@gradygridironhe allowed 6 sacks my guy
@@donttrip1818 for sure. still room to improve. i just looked up his PFF grade is 10th of 141 eligible. so top 5 might be a stretch.... but he is so young....
6 sacks, but he was #2 in pass block snaps. playing next to crap LT and C.
you really think Cross isn't a solid above average LT? is there anything besides the sacks for that thinking?
Marcus Brady San Diego Chargers for OC. NFL OC experience and lots of NFL experience. Jim Harbaugh liked him enough to make him apart of his intial staff in LA.
I would love for them to give Gruden a try for oc
Interesting!
Me to for some reason…
Have you thought about Kellen Moore as new OC??
He’s gonna be a head coach bro
why do people think coaches are gonna keep moving from team to team without upgrading there position lmao i think we have way too many average football fans giving out opinions without actually knowing football
And build his own q back
Mike inside of him wants seahawks to play bullie ball like the ravens defense.
Riq needs to get more physical. Maybe he needs to hit the weight room more. If he can’t do that maybe he needs to retire.
No Gatorade
Ryan isnt necessarily a bad OC. But his system doesnt fit Mikes style of offense. He wants to run the ball, simple as that
Get rid of Geno, and we are good to go, coach. Hope the new OC wants a different qb as well. Let's get the NFC championship. GO HAWKS!
And get who to play QB?
@bruceross4303 Many choices. Imo, I would go with Joe Milton or Fields and draft Cade Klubnik next year.
I feel like he's going to be like Sean Payton get rid of Gino and Bill his own
I want MM to suceed like everyone else but he just is not convincing me in his speech or body language that we are going to do "some damage" next season only to my nervous system.
Get rid of geno, how can anyone be so blind to the amount of picks he throws, he’s mediocre
go watch a different team bro geno will be here next and and probably the year after aswell
Hire McCown for OC
He is going to clean house next year
Geno their to stay
I hated to lose pete. I still think pete got stabbed in the back. But. With that said. i like mike too
Stabbed in the back? He was lucky to have coached the team for those many years in spite of being in mediocrity. Look at Doug Pederson. Won Super Bowl in 2018 and got fired in 2020.
Firing an OC for being too aggressive? Not great for a defensive minded HC
Now go out and figure out how to build a offensive line..
Americans really need to learn the difference between convicted and conviction. As a Brit, it throws me off every time I hear someone use them incorrectly.
americans have a very loose grasp of language, period. getting steadily worse
Trying to blame to oc u wanted 😂 u should fire yourself did he make u go for it on your own 30? Did he lose to a giants team that fired everyone what a clown show thanks bandwagons u got your wish.
Mike has one last chance
What are you talking about bro😭 he went 10-7 in his first year and mightly improved the defense
He has more than that lol. This is a serious coach who has a vision to bring back winning football to Seattle. He did great in his first year and way out did my expectations the fact we were second in the NFC west just shows that. Defensively we looked good and I think things only get better from here
Lol
lol… You’re trippen. This is our guy!
Future looks good from the outside.
Fixing the O-line is *FINALLY* getting some attention (from the fan base). Watching to see.
